These sketchy location vids are my favorite bc it can go so many directions. They are exciting. Plus when the food hits, a spot overlooked gets the love they deserve. It's a great premise. Travel and do these all over the country.

And sometimes when "the food hits" he decides to say "i'd be surprised if it's even washed" dragging down the reputation of the place
"Do they bake their own bread?" While literally looking at the bread baking racks 😅
To be fair, that bread could be delivered on the racks like that every day or week
I go to Sandwich Express and yes they do bake the bread there. It has to be the right texture French infused Vietnamese bread. The texture has to be outter crispy crunchy and pillow soft on the inside. A special chew from mainly the inside of the bread but both texture in one bite is amazing. Also the bread has to be fresh daily that's why the in house baking of the breads. Or some Vietnamese Bami shops buy from Vietnamese bakers but always new daily to keep the freshness. Fresh bread is out then no more sandwhichies for the remainder of the day. Cheers!
@@MasWasThere I don'tq know any bakery that delivers bread in their baking cabinets, they're expensive and would be needed for other bakes, additionally can see the steam/bake bread oven right across from. The racks

That dessert is glutinous rice balls in ginger syrup, known as "Chè trôi nước" in Vietnam. The rice balls are typically filled with mung beans, and coconut cream and flakes are optional toppings.
In Chinese culture, it is called tang yuan. Their version can be either plain or filled with black sesame.
This dessert is popular during the lunar new year celebrations.

@@josetorres7061 Bánh mì. Translates to bread if taken literally. It's pretty much just a sandwich to a Vietnamese person. Personally, I love bánh mì

Actually, February is when Chinese and Vietnamese cultures celebrate their New Year. Thai, Lao, and Cambodian New Year is celebrated in April.

Nothing wrong with calling it Chinese New Year. It’s the same thing as a male human being can be called both a man and a person. And not all Asians celebrate Lunar new year, not even all East Asians.
@@jz4057 Tell that to a Vietnamese person. Just like we don't call indigenous peoples, Native anymore....we don't call it Chinese NY anymore. Times have changed although coming from a non-asian, I think its forgivable

Angel Food donuts in Long Beach are by far the best donuts in LA - their warm glazed donuts are insane. I lived a few months out of the year in Long Beach for my business, and it always my first stop after landing in Long beach every time. Honestly they are the best donuts i have ever had in any state I’ve ever been in including my Buffalo NY hometown

4:04 Reminds me to that dessert from Indonesia that served specially during Ramadhan, it's called "Kolak Biji Salak". Idk if it's the same or not but for Kolak It's basically consist of tapioca, rice sugar, palm sugar, pandan leaf, and just like that lady say coconut milk. This is new to me knowing that Vietnam has this type of food
