I'm just saying, almost every time I've gone to one of these hole in the wall sketchy looking places, it's been some of the best food I've ever had. These greasy spoons and dive bars absolutely stand out in the food scene and deserve so much more credit than what they get.
You are absolutely right. It's because these owners either just come from their countries or have been planning on opening restaurants forever and just don't have the money to properly open one but they bring all their ingredients from their ancestors and have been cooking for YEARS. They use spices and ingredients that most people here are not familiar with so when they cook people absolutely Love it. It's ashame just by the outside of the restaurant people think it's "sketchy" and these owners, chefs don't get any recognition because food from different countries are absolutely delicious. I hope more UA-cam videos like this can actually get people out to these restaurants, cuisines, etc and taste different foods from different places. I mean we are the melting pot of the world 😊

The twigs you're talking about are thyme. It's super common in food and delicious, and the fact that you got that much, including the stem in a single serving, means they really really care how the food tastes.
@@kevinprzy4539you might’ve had a bad batch. Cuz thyme may be the best herb to pair with beef. We gotta pray for your senses to be healed to you can try it again.
To clarify the Jamaican food. The spices in it include scotch bonnet pepper to give it heat. To what you referred to as twigs was the tyme in the food. Jamaican's do pride themselves on food cooked fresh and spicy. When it comes to mac and cheese they make sure that it's on point. I would've went with brown rice and peas instead of the yellow rice.
Hey Taylor Bros, "jerk" chicken means the spice blend, and the barbecue technique. The spice blend typically contains powdered onion and garlic, cumin, nutmeg, allspice, smoked paprika, cinnamon. Red pepper, cayenne pepper and a pinch of brown sugar round out the flavor. According to most food historians the “Jerk” comes from a Peruvian word “Charqui” meaning dried strips of meat like what we call “Jerky”. Arawak indians from Peru migrated to Jamaica over 2500 years ago, bringing their customary foods. 🔥🍗🍗🍗🔥 Hey, sketchiest place is a fun series!!

I question the bougie looking places more because a lot of the time, I’m being ripped off for something that’s not as good as the hole in the wall place with a C health rating
So after seeing what that guy was packing on his waist, I got curious and googled. Apparently Tennessee is an open carry state and they eliminated the permit requirements in 2021.
The way they act at black owned restaurants they change up their whole vibe , the voice change the slang they use just be yourself I’ve noticed it in other videos too 💀
Its not even just black owned😂 when its Hispanic food suddenly they're all proud of their Mexican heritage, and speak spanish, and force an accent, but when its non ethnic food, they speak all proper, and well...white, even asain food they use a bad asian accent

Having traveled to Asia and Latin America, I absolutely agree! Even the best Asian restaurants in SoCal are usually sketchy looking hole in the wall joints
Can't go wrong with the oxtails & jerk chicken. What looks like twigs is actually thyme stem, one of the staple herbs/spices along with pimento aka allspice used in Jamaican cooking. Next time try the rice & peas instead of yellow rice. The portions are hefty. We do love our food.
I know you won’t see this. I work at a lil hole in the wall restaurant and it warms my heart to see you treat the employees like gold every single time!! I have watched your videos for a long time and I know not every employee treats you right. However your so greatful and nice I just love it!! Ever in the Niceville Florida area try Cafe Bienville!!!
