I have had the 2 stroke for 14 years and it works well; but started getting a little tough to start especially since I was tiling gardens for other people. Switched to the 4 stroke 9"; couldn't be happier. I dig some landscape work more than a foot down and it cutting decent size roots well. Only thing it doesn't handle, long weeds and Bermuda...tangles the thing up. I just take the tines off and have a good knife and cut them clean.
I bought the 21024 model, my son is coming for a visit and I want him to teach me how to prepare the ground so that I can plant some ground vegetables in late summer. I bought the propane model so that it can be light enough for me to handle on my own, can you demonstrate this model, I have not opened the box until he comes home and puts it together for me. Thanks.
Mantis tillers are the biggest piece of junk I've ever purchased , that is unless your hobby is replacing and tuning small engine carbs /fuel lines and not gardening. The carbs are shit, you'll need to rebuild or replace it every season, had to replace trigger handle after 1st season (about $60) , plastic air filter shroud breaks while trying to remove to replace air filter & spark plug & a replacement is around $25. WARNING ! Spend an extra $50 & get a Stihl, Echo, anything but these nightmares !

If you have pressure washer it will cut right thru the weeds

Yes, there are butane models that use the cylinder type of butane. Mine is light weight, otherwise I wouldn't be able to operate it..
