I have the same exact strat which I purchased new in 1994 when I was stationed in Japan. These are great instruments and I will never part with mine. Sweet video, awesome guitar and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your kind words, I am hoping either of my sons will take it over and rockn roll with it:)
Great to hear Double E. I just bought a mint condition MIJ Fujien from 93-94 for $500 with Texas Specials. Its not th e same model, its a beige color with gold hardware. These old Japanese Strats are so good.
You play the guitar nicely👍
Thanks a lot! I appreciate your comment
How do you know this 93/94 is Fujigen? Dyna was already making Strats in 1992. Also, N-series were produced all the way through 1996. You need a penciled date on the butt of the neck or serialized (original) pots to know what year these bastards truly are.
I am buying a mint one with all goodies including papers brochures case keys..for 800 bucks is that good.. it looks almost new
I have exactly this guitar...but the E prefix (96), love it
Hey gittarpikk! It's a great guitar for price. I love MIJ Guitars:)
If you have an “E” prefix on a “Made in Japan” Strat, then (1.) your guitar was built sometime between 1984 and 1989, and (2.) you 100% definitely own a Funigen guitar.
`@@danalexander2149 Actually mine has the 'system one' trem and when I researched the serial, it was showing up as an 84 or 85. The pickguard has been modded for a Lawrence blade humbucker, center is OEM and I replaced the neck pup with a Fender Lace sensor, but never got a decent sound with that setup, replaced the pickguard with a loadsed one and trimmed out for the larger trem. Sound OK but IMO should go with the original Texas pickups and return it to near original. I have often wondered ahat was wrong with the modded Pups as they should have sounded really good especially with the Lawrence
@@gittarpikk - Those S1 tremolos we’re used for many years.
Just got an O serial one of these. Only 300 bucks. Great guitar.
Hi Stephan, totally agree. My strats and teles are all Fender Japan:)
Awesome!
Thanks men!
Nice, I've just ordered one of these... all the same but mine has cream pickup covers, apparently they're the Texas specials though... I hope. XD
Hi KnightSquire, I was going to sell it off, but changed my mind to keep it for nostalgic value and descent sound. Great blues guitar, period.
KENNY BLACK Awesome! Do you know how to go about checking if the one I own has the Texas specials? Thanks
I don't think you can visually identify your stock pickup. I guess you will know when you plugin your guitar to TS808 or TS9 into fender amp, neck position, then play SRV riff. Good luck!
Same guitars as mij fenders just different logos stuck on them...
this is beautiful! what camera did you use to shoot this?
Hi, I used old Canon Kiss X2 with 40mm~50mm single focus lens for this take. Now I use Canon D70 and highly recommend D70.
My friend , may i know what are the stock pick ups of these 93-94 model? I recently have one 🤟
Hi Aloe. They came with Texas Special pickups. Don’t know whether those pickups were specially designed for Fender Japan or Regular USA Texas Special. :)
How to identify whether the Strat is TX series and the US series?
Ali Suwanda, Hi, sorry mate, I have no idea. however you can search Fender Japan Catalog via internet, you can look for different lineups for different years, good luck!
@@kennyblack-jp No worries.. appreciate your reply..
@@alisuwanda2703 Body and neck stamps.
They are great. I have an almost same one '94 or '95 U serial, also re-fretted with Jescar and Texas -specials. Though I do not know if the body is alder or basswood?
Hi f61ss, good to know you have the same strat! I have no idea about body material, but I still have this guitar and planning to pass it on to my son☺
Normally, TX in 90s fender japan should use Alder for body.
I was look on the 1993 fender japan catalog, mine was basswood, if u 5 ways switch on rosewood neck and vintage pickup, its defenitely basswood,
@@lacasimo My guitar guy showed me a catalog from 1995 and it says that sunburst is alder, but if depends from year to year. You can find the catalog on the net, it is in japanese.
@@f61ss i’ve just seen 1995 fender japan catalog, st62 variant is 110,70 and 53 , they are come with 3 tone sunburts colour, its depent on your switch, if your guitar have 5 way switch , the body is basswood , only st62-110 body is alder and they come with 3 way switch
Would you still be willing to sell this and if so how much?
Hi Jacob. It's been sold out! sorry men
@@kennyblack-jp Hey Kenny, how much did it fetch you?... (if I may ask?)
Alder or Basswood ??
Hi King Glass Eye, it's probably Alder
Just too many effects going on. That sound could have been attained on almost any guitar out there.
Bell bottom blues
how's the neck on this guitar? I keep reading that it's oval but I have no idea what it means.
Is it between a C and a D ?
More close to D shape. Another point is it’s thickness. I consider most of Fender japan guitars are medium D shape. I hope that help
Used for many years maybe...and I use one today, but according to Fenders serial list were only made for a couple years.
Cool guitar and sounds man. I have a very similar st-62, actually it's almost identical, but mine is a 2004 "crafted in japan". It came with texas specials and has an alder body. There's a demo in my channel for those who would like to see and hear.
Thanks men, I will check it out. Peace
I have the same strat N serial+6 digits. Same everything even the location of that screw between the middle and neck pickup. Though, compared to my 89-90 mij 62 ri I don't feel the 7.25in radius on my 93-94 made. I kinda hate it bec I think that's what makes the vintage specs special but im not sure if that's a common thing bec I do see the severe radius from this video or could it be just the angle? Any input on this please?
how much did he sell it for?
I did not sell it for nostalgic value. I still have it
