Pete Wilson was a great Governor, not to mention Wilson was also Governor of California during a time when TV and Cartoons was at its prime back in the 90s, not only that, but he was Governor during The Disney Renaissance Era
I'm surprised there aren't more comments here. I lived in California during Gov. Wilson's tenure. I like some of what he did - and didn't like other things he did. That's how it *should* be in government - trying to do what's good for *everyone* but accepting how you can't please everyone all the time. If everything you do only benefits one party or mindset, you're only working for a select group of people - and ignoring the common good. Wilson belongs to an era I miss.
@@PTPrime500 Wilson's most enduring legacy is destroying the GOP in California. Prior to 1994, California usually voted for the Republican candidate for President, had both Republican and Democratic Governors and Senators, and had a slight (60-40) Democrat majority in the House. In other words, California was a moderate swing state. Then Pete Wilson ran for reelection as Governor in 1994. He ran on an anti-immigrant platform, and endorsed Proposition 187, which was later thrown out by the courts. Ironically, Wilson himself hired undocumented workers at his own home at the time, for which he blamed his wife. Wilson won reelection, but the GOP has never recovered in California, to this day. Now the state has 90% Democratic members of the House. No GOP Senator has been elected since 1994. Arnie is the only GOP Governor since then. Pete Wilson single-handedly turned California from a moderate swing state to a deep blue state. Thanks Pete!
We California need a governor like Pete Wilson he was tough on crime he was the pioneer of deporting bad apples

Real history here...
At 66, I’m proud to be a lifelong Californian. Make no mistake, this guy was the worst governor in my lifetime.
Come on he was not that bad, much better than Gray Davis, and the current governor.
Worst than Gray Davis and Gavin Newsom? Hell no
@@raedvalenzuela5085 also if you haven’t already I recommend looking in the California is a very first governor Peter Harden Barnett.
I wish he never ran for governor back in 1990.
