Samsung just dropped a bunch of new devices at their Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event in London. And lots of people seem disappointed in the lack of innovation. They unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Flip 6, Galaxy Fold 6, Watch Ultra, Watch 7, Buds 3, Buds 3 Pro, and the all-new Galaxy Ring. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is Samsung's answer to the Apple Watch Ultra, and I'll be doing a hands-on review on the channel very soon! The Ring is a neat new addition to the Samsung line but will the first-gen Galaxy Ring stand up to the likes of the Oura Ring?
The Galaxy Flip 6 and Fold 6 might look very similar to last year's models, but they've got better cameras and brighter screens. Samsung's big focus this year is, of course, on Galaxy AI, which is now in pretty much everything. The new Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro promise some decent AI integrations, including awesome sound quality, noise cancellation, and even real-time language translation. This in itself could be HUGE.
Some folks say Samsung's out of ideas, but with these updates and the focus on AI, it looks like they're just perfecting what already works. They're building a wider ecosystem that's all about smooth integration and smart features. But are Samsung becoming another Apple?

In order of 'excitement level', how do you feel about the devices in this Samsung Launch? I'm going with:

1. Watch Ultra
2. Ring
3. Flip
4. Watch 7
5. Fold
6. Buds Pro
7. Buds 3 Pro
8. Buds 3
LEAST EXCITED
I think Apple and Samsung have come to a point with Hardware that if it's not broke don't change it...
Samsung just needs to focus on software smoothness strictly for a year
there is still lot to do. example for samsung smartwatches, get the biosensors accurate, and also make it diving water proof. and as always better battery
that galaxy ring tho 🤤
Dude.... you switching to Android?! 👀
@avkay12But you are glad Apple gave you an update for Pride Wallpapers, ability to move icons around 🤣🤣🤣🤣what a joke.
@avkay12 that's crazy, who asked?
Very cheeky of you with the thumbnail picture. The flash hasnt moved from the 5
@@thearabiangolfer I know, that annoyed
me
I sort of agree but even Apple are the same as they have to move the cameras around and put out new colours so people can tell which one you have. I'm keeping my Fold 4 for another year.
haha! Yeah so true. Just enough to make you buy new accessories every year eh...
Seems that Samsung are up to the same tricks with their recent releases though. I miss innovation!
@PeteMatheson totally agree, I miss the excitement of having a noticeable upgrade every year when tech was really advancing quickly and there were real reasons to update. Phones like the iPhone 4 and the Galaxy S2 that were groundbreaking compared to their predecessors but at the same time we all realise that advancements are still happening but slower which makes upgrading every couple of years make more sense and is more environmentally friendly. Keep up the great videos.
After my Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 inner screen died and the front outer screen touch also stopped working just after 12 months warranty has run out I wouldn't touch another $am$ung product ever again, the amount of people with similar issues is insane and the customer support is terrible!
There are people still rocking their Fold 1,2,3,4,5 without issues, owning these devices also comes with responsibility I don't thing your Fold 3 just died out of the blues.
I've seen lots of reports about screen issues. And for sure, that's where Apple customer service really kicks in. I've seen them replace out-of-warranty phones just because they looked after them, so good!
That's what happens when you keep dropping it had my two years not a problem still like the day I bought it
@@josephmessere7617I never dropped it, I always look after my tech!
@@pave_waywiz8869 well it did and when you look online you see plenty of other people with the same issues.
No , what crazy you want in foldable phones they are now going on refinement and we all know they can't just change the whole design language of phone it will take them 3 years again to refine that design so please don't act like kids think about twice before claiming something. And if you all need something really crazy wait for some years samsung have already got the copyright for rollable phones they showed it in CES 2024

In my opinion, I think Samsung still has many ideas for their S series, but has somewhat limited ideas for their Z series. But if anything, it's more like Apple running out of ideas. They just go ahead and announce all their new features at once without thinking about the upcoming year. Also it's common for products to have software glitches / lags but can easily be fixed with an update.
My galaxy watch 2 is unsupported, my gear 360 was bricked. Google bricked my router and all my home hubs are now useless. And the trade in deals and increased cost are the cherry on top this year.
I dont agree with that statement either, Samsung are always developing new ideas. Apple take what they think they can capitalise on and go from there.
I think they do in some areas - they obviously have a very different approach to software for sure. But the Watch Ultra / Buds are nearly replicas of Apple products.
New products are exciting though! Love to see them.
Do they have any new ideas? They do not have their own AI like Apple, using Google instead. The Galaxy Ring is a copycat. The Galaxy Buds are an AirPod rip-off. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is Apple Watch Ultra 3! I have been trying to think of something original from Samsung for over five years!
@@PeteMatheson That's absolutely wrong the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a remake of the Galaxy Gear Sport back in 2015 or so and if it's about the orange colour apple doesn't own any patent to colours or the orange color so I don't know what you are talking about.
@@andyH_EnglandGoogle the Galaxy Gear Sports and you will know who actually copycat,it's just that Smasung doesn't brag about this petty noise from applebots.
@@pave_waywiz8869 has a square body and the same feature set as an AWU tho
2:12 lag is always going to be there give a day or so lol
I actually used the OnePlus Watch 2 recently and that was GREAT in terms of performance.
Will see how well my Watch 7 performs when that arrives though
@@PeteMatheson I saw another yt video about the watch and it wasn't laggy, and others where it was
Samsung has flip , fold , slab, and entry level budget phones. They are also fixing software so we get better features and ecosystem instead of a flashy cool phone . On top of that Samsung is , making bendy phones . Rollable etc. it’s not bland or boring it’s just called refined. Your Samsung products are eventually gonna be like a one use for all. Your watch will control ur home.
I dont think any of the giants in the phone industry are gonna make any new designs or originals anytime soon. Foldables are probably as far as anyone will push other than rollables, and ppl will meet those with pessimism. Uniqueness started to die with the intro of iPhone era imo. I really wish Samsung would reintroduce the Gear S.
Gentlemen, all the big players even oneplus and Google have finally hit it's still mode.
I think you are referring to apple 😂 by saying run out of ideas!
İm happy with my 4 years samsung M51,
Battery for 3 days😂😂
I currently have Samsung S20 and want to upgrade to fold 6. Should I or should I wait for S25?😅
Or should i go for fold from other android brands? Though i already have a Samsung ecosystem.
The IP48 rating update on the foldables is so underrated. However I am a bit disappointed that Samsung did almost nothing on the crease depth, or at least the perception of the crease. We have seen on OnePlus Fold, the crease can really look like it's not there with a new hinge and anti-reflection coating
Then imagine how iPhone users feel. Lol
Samsung be like - don't fix it if its not broken.
Think those demo watch’s are still on pre release firmwares
The necessity of innovation in technology, given its current state and usage, is a topic worth discussing. The technological advancements we have today already cater efficiently to the everyday needs of people. In the realm of consumer electronics, Samsung stands out as a notable competitor to Apple in terms of brand appeal and technological innovation.
Samsung is currently one of the leading companies pioneering the development and commercialization of foldable smartphones. These devices, such as the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series, represent the most advanced foldable technology available on the market today. Their design integrates cutting-edge flexible display technology and hinge mechanisms, offering unique functionalities that traditional smartphones cannot provide
Basically what I'm trying to say is that there's no need or there's little need for revolutionary changes in today's tech landscape technological advancements we have already cater efficiently to the everyday needs of people . Even without drastic innovation, devices like Samsung's foldables are still cutting-edge and highly advanced.
I suspect that the ring idea was taken from other sources instead of their own R&D as shown on the buds 3 pro. It is just a matter of time that suit will follow soon...
I can't wait to find out... Will the buds have a better fit? Have they fixed the bad touch sensitivity on the buds?
That's actually true about samsung in the recent years, the problem is that they always tried new stuff but nobody cared and Apple was the trend leader, so they just gave up and did what apple done
I wish Samsung would change the Flip and Fold design every year, with two distinct designs alternating between odd and even years. As we rarely upgrade yearly, Samsung could develop two distinct models for each. That would make it more exciting, be useful to demand analytics and give users a design choice. For example, a wider display Fold one year, and the next is the narrower version.
I understand that Samsung must be digging a money pit with their foldable line as, despite the hype from influencers, as we enter the sixth year, they have failed to set the world alight. So, having various models would add costs, but it would help what is a very stale Samsung folding lineup that has already lost its pazazz and seems remarkably stale even by candy bar smartphone standards.
Interesting idea! I could actually see that working - but like you've said, big money pit gets bigger. Especially when other contenders are really making strides with their foldables too.
Samsung do have their ecosystem going for them though !
I wasn't impressed with the watch 7.
Does feel like a rebadged watch 6 - but then again, that's what we have every year from most brands now!
@@PeteMatheson I curious. what's exactly did you expect to see In these devices that was not present?
Honestly the watch is looking sick, specially strap of the base one
Anything bright orange and I'm there :)
Almost wanted to buy the Fold 6 this year, then I realized that there aren't that much upgrades from the Fold 5 and decided maybe its time to wait another year or just get the iPhone 16 Pro Max instead
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is original from the Galaxy Gear Sports back in 2015 so i dont know where tbis lame argument is coming from.
The 3x watch strap colours are identical to the Ultra.
All the specs are nearly identical to the ultra.
It's eerily close!
I don’t understand why Samsung fans keep comparing it to the old Gear Sport. It’s not even remotely close to side by side. The watch 7 Ultra is practically a mirror image of the Apple Watch Ultra. Just accept that that’s the actual inspiration dude 😂
run out of ideas!!!.......Bro they all run out of ideas
Here's a thought Samsung...lower the prices ...or make a new z foldable that's made up from 2 ultra 24s,includes a pen and fast charging plug to justify the over pricing of it taking place year after year ...
@@clifsraiders if you are ready to pay upwards of 2500 dollars. Then you can expect s24u like features. Which is totally impractical for both users as well as manufacturers. People need to accept foldable as it is. It's neither a fully blown tablet nor a flagship mobile. It should have the right blend of both worlds with a bit of compromise, which they are now.
The z flip seems like a decent upgrade imo
I love ur content! 🔥💯
Thank you!
The translation wasn't spot on on the AI because the spanish spoken was incorrect. So it was user error more than anything.
I don't really agree with the statement but I just started the video
Phone arena shared the OnePlus open vs Fold 6 screen size and yeah. Glad I'm not preordering.
Definitely, how about making it a proper size, ie wider and bigger, instead of a toy....
The cameras look different
Apple is really successful with this same formula, Samsung is catching I believe even better
I've seen a lot of mean comments towards the ring, but I think we are not all the public this product is targeted to.
Can’t to see the Samsung Ultra watch compare to the Apple Watch Ultra.
As for the flip 6 I'll just use my flip 5 for a year or two more.
Thought packed was in París
They held smaller events in other places for the ones who aren’t cool enough to be invited to Paris! 😏
2:00 definitely questionable. At last somebody states it. A decent UA-cam 👍 👍
The way the camera looks is bad though I don't like it
And apple doesnt??
As an Iphone user I also think Apple is boring when it comes to new designs reason why I'm still using a 13 pro max.
Apple does it for years, and no one bats an eye
No one should ask Samsung why the products have so little changes until it is asked of Apple first! I do own an iPhone, and as much as I like it some days, it is still very boring.
Oh believe me, right there with you on that hill! 😁
@@PeteMatheson by the way, great video as always!
You wey no run out of ideas, wetin you don create? 😒
They are not out of ideas they are just lazy
Yo, this phone folds. I know we're used to it now but that's still wild and we're like "What have you done for me, lately?" Let Samsung iterate. They're now offering 7 years of software updates. They're basically telling us we shouldn't be updating yearly so there's no need for sweeping changes. Just my opinion.
fold
The Watch 7 ultra looks awful , has terrible battery life and doesn't come with a titanium strap.
Ill keep my Huwaei Watch 4 pro for now.
Samsung have run out of ideas but apple hasn't? Apple have been doing the same exact design since the iphone 11 and ofc they are the ones innovating. What a joke u are. Apple fan base always saying dumb stuffs. You shouldn't be reviewing other products just stay at apple products.
😂 triggered much?
If you watched the video at all you’d see that’s not my opinion, and you’ll have seen me calling Apple’s iPhone just as boring and why I’ve been using the s24 ultra since it came out
It's all boring.
I'm getting new Pixel.
Not too long to wait for that - I'm really hoping for a big upgrade to the Pixel Fold
