I could get the little fan off my motor using a large angled flathead screwdriver into the geared hole on top of the base where the blending jar sits. With that, you can hold the rotor stationary, then spin the fan off.
The power connectors to the black top of the motor assembly could be pried off by putting a flathead screwdriver head between them and the plastic, then twisting the screwdriver to lever the connector up.
I'm hoping he'll show me how to get the black assembly on the top of the motor off so I can get at the brushes and the rotor.
