Distribution
 The genus Psilotum consists of two species, P. nudum and P. flaccidum.
 P. nudum is fairly common in tropical and subtropical parts of both hemispheres, whereas P. flaccidum, a pendulous epiphyte on tree trunks, is restricted to Hawaii, Jamaica, Florida, Mexico and some Pacific Islands.
 In India, the genus is represented by P. nudum reported from Shimla, Kulu (Himachal Pradesh), Panchmarhi (Madhya Pradesh) and Darjeeling hills (West Bengal).
