The Mysore-Kochuveli Express is an Express train belonging to Southern Railway zone that runs between Mysore Junction and Kochuveli of Thiruvananthapuram the capital of Kerala in India. It is currently being operated with 16315/16316 train numbers on a daily basis. The train was extended from Bangalore City to Mysore Junction w.e.f. from 29 September 2019. This train was introduced as a result of many protests by Kerala passengers for a second train between TRIVANDRUM and BANGALORE.This train is the successor of TRIVANDRUM CENTRAL BANGALORE WEEKLY EXPRESS.
The 16315 Mysore-Kochuveli Express has an average speed of 46 km/h and covers 961 km in 20 hours 45 minutes. The 16316 Kochuveli-Mysore Express has an average speed of 52 km/h and covers 961 km in 18 hours 35 minutes.
Both trains are hauled by Royapuram-based WAP-7 electric locomotives from Mysore Junction to Kochuveli, and vice versa.
16315 - Starts from Mysore daily at 12:50 hrs IST and reaches Kochuveli next day at 9:35 AM IST
16316 - Starts from Kochuveli daily at 16:45 hrs IST and reaches Mysore next day at 11:20 Hrs IST
The train has LHB rakes with a maximum permissible speed of 130 km/h. The train consists of 22 coaches :

Mysore Junction railway station, re-christened as Mysuru Junction railway station (station code: MYS) is a railway station on Mysore-Bangalore railway line serving the city of Mysore, Karnataka, India. Previously Mysore was connected to Bangalore by a single-line metre-gauge track. It was later converted into non-electrified broad-gauge line. It has now been converted to a double-line, electrified route.
The heritage Mysore Railway Station building was constructed in the late 1940s. Currently, it has 6 platforms. All are connected by barrier-free access via lifts, subway and 2 escalators. On the right side of the building, are counters for unreserved ticketing and advance booking. There are also automatic ticket vending machines. The Mysore Railway Division and the Mysore Railway station have a reputation for cleanliness. According to Railways authorities, it is the cleanest of the 3 division of the South Western Railways. As part of the beautification, in 2019 a sculpture "Life is a Journey" by local artist Arun Yogiraj was installed in the entrance to the building. The sculpture consists of 6 statues representing travelers in typical postures.

Trivandrum Kochuveli railway station (station code: KCVL), formerly known as Thiruvananthapuram North railway station is a satellite passenger railway terminus of Thiruvananthapuram. It is being developed to ease congestion at Thiruvananthapuram Central.
Some trains presently operating from Thiruvananthapuram Central, including the Sabari Express, will commence the journey from Kochuveli railway station once the station is completely developed. Kochuveli railway station also caters to special trains during busy seasons. The trains connect this station to cities like Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Secunderabad, Hubli, Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Mysuru, Madgaon, Bhavnagar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Indore, Surat, Nilambur, Jodhpur, Sri Ganganagar and Nagercoil.
The station is situated 1.2 km from the NH 66 Trivandrum-Kanyakumari bypass road and 8 km from Central bus station Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation operates a low-floor AC feeder bus from Kochuveli terminal to Trivandrum city for the benefit of long-distance passengers. The buses are operated from the station at timings based on train arrivals. The nearest bus stop on the NH 66 Kazhakoottam-Kovalam bypass road is World Market Junction from where commuters can use the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses towards various places in Trivandrum city and Kazhakoottam.

By Bus Mysuru and Coimbatore via Sathyamangalam, Distance is 200Km, by this Route going all the way to Jolarpettai (not even taking the Bengaluru Hosur Line) this is probably adding 400KM to the Distance
Yeah not only this train,
even kanyakumari Island express,Coimbatore Uday express,Smvt Bengaluru -kochuveli Humsafar, yesvantpur-Kochuveli Ac exp,Hubli-Kochuveli express,SMVT Bengaluru -Ernakulam Express also goes this route instead of its shorter route Hosur-Salem route,they won't take shortest route even 10 years,hosur route is almost electrified.
if this train runs via Hosur and Salem it will have more passengers
Yes Sir Absolutely if they operate via Hosur Salem!! route is almost electrified,it will not only increase passengers,it will reduce travel reduction around 70 km,its foolish decision to operate circular route via KR Puram, Bangarpet extra 70 km we have to travel,railways😡 won't do even next 10 years,no changes at all in Indian Railways.
