In this interview you can see how much Peter and Dudley cared for each other. Both very kind to each other. These are what true friendships were. Terry tried to belittle Peter but Dudley protected him well.
Wogan seems keen here to spark some (albeit good-natured) digs between them, and Cook & Moore just take the opportunity to be very kind about each other. And as much as I like them making me laugh, I think it's lovely.
These two together were a class act they were funny with even trying absolute stars both of them don’t get the likes of these on the telly any more sadly missed
One of the greatest double acts this country ever produced, very sadly missed, still have my Derek and Clive LPs. Such a shame that so much of their material was wiped by the BBC. Still makes me smile and laugh whenever I think of them...
TA FOR YR REPLY. MOST FUNNY STUFF WAS SEEING COOK SURROUNDED BY A BEVVEY OF LONG-LEGGED BLONDS IN CHELSEA. SO I DARED TO ASK ... HE REPLIED 'BUNKING OFF' GOING TO HALF-MOON' (PUB)
By the time this interview took place, Dudley Moore’s career was in decline due to several movie flops. His tumultuous personal life also hurt his image.
You said it and also hopelessly outclassed in every sense. Some of Wogan's comments were also faintly insulting and disrespectful considering his own conspicuous lack of real wit and talent.
I always liked Terry Wogan, but I think here he is absolutely eclipsed by Cooke and Moore - and he doesn't much like it! Coke and Moore were NOT old at this point, but Wogan kept harping on this. Cooke and Moore are in a league of their own. - no one even comes close to their spontaneous briliance.
I'm fairly articulate, when I want to be (says Dudley) . . . A disappointing clip, all within the all, but disappointment's chic these days, now UA-cam's on the leash and off the rag. Incidentally, anybody know any good IPOs ready to go public? Just had another idea I could sell short. But there's so much wealth in it, Peter's egging of the short one: "Sexual . . ." - It's frankly hysterical to see it squandered. Giggling into the abyss is not it, in fact misses it entirely. Because buried in every giggle there is a death (the other guy) and a resurrection (whoever the other other guy is). Unless one considers movement in any direction movement towards an abyss, like Pascal and Pessoa, in which case I agree that comedy is probably a bad idea.
@@ColtraneTaylor Sigh. Because Peter was ill and just a shadow of his former self. Dudley had gotten all the international success and Peter was a washed up has-been. Of course, Dudley would soon see his life destroyed as well...
Loved those two
I miss them, and their times.
Agreed lynn..they were something special.

It's a shame Cook and him fell out while doing Derek and clive. But without Cooks depression that material would never had happened.
Terry was just teasing, he's also a gentle soul.
Terry wasn't belittling Anyone, three Loveable and much missed characters ❤❤
The fact that Peter was only 53 here shows how much the drink aged him. Wish he and Dudley lived a lot longer.
I don’t see Peter as having aged any more than an average 53 yr old. He has put on weight though.
He was ahead of the other two in downing that pint.
OBJECT. COOK WAS NOT AN 'ALCO'.
SORRY MET HIM IN CHELSEA ON HIS WAY TO GP SURROUNDED BY TALL BLONDES. WAS NOT THE BOOZE. I WAS WORKING FOR THAT DOCTOR AT THE TIME.
@@DeirdreCatherineDoyle Why are you shouting?
Derek and Clive I salute you

Dudley Moore might be the most delightful person that ever existed

The Twelve Days Of Christmas is so, so funny. Sir Arthur Streeb-Greebling, is a great character.
no its Sir Arthur Greeb-Streebling isn`t it?
@@NowFunStartsyes, the T is silent as in 'fox' 😂
Can't think of many real people after this generation - actual, real, people.
A great couple, cook & Moore
And this year’s Eurovision entry is young Dudley Moore and a song called MY MUM CAME IN MY ROOM 😂😂😂😂
"this bloke came up to me"
Wogan was such a slimy git.
Cook and Moore were in another class loved them❤️😊
your comment is nearly as stupid as your name
Wogan is being pretty disrespectful to both here I think. Cook and Moore completely rise above it
Wogan wasn't on form here with the questions, I'm afraid.
Rediculous questions The pair of them had done a world of work and achievements before their mid 20s. Stupid questions Wogan.
Wogan should have stayed on the radio. He’s a wooden clothes horse on the telly.
By the time this interview took place, Dudley Moore’s career was in decline due to several movie flops. His tumultuous personal life also hurt his image.
Wow, Dudley really defended Pete herre when Wogan was about to say Pete ballsed up. Very nice.
3:42 Pete didn't clink glasses with Dudley. A miniscule thing, but hey.
wogan patronising.
Certainly, Terry was out of his depth with these two comedy geniuses.
Derek and Clive 😂
Wogan - somewhat out of his depth, I think.

wogan was a twat
@@peterashford7855 totally agree 💯
2:03 WOW. Peter Cook almost ALMOST is about to say something wonderful about his best friend....then turns on a sixpence to go for comedy. Dohhhhh. :)

This gives me the horn
Boring Wogan seems to dislike Beer...he prob' prefers Champagne & birds
Unpleasant get-together. The old pals act with drinks. They were both better than this.
Feel Wogan here is really nasty trying to cause a rift .thou it is sad Dudley apparently refused to work with Peter because of his drinking .

Yuk. Terry Wogan. Only watched cos Pete & Dud were on!
Well, this was depressing.
Why?
