When I immediately heard this i had extreme flashbacks to WaSuYu when Minowa Gin sacrificed herself to protect Washio and Sonoko.

This is so painfully bittersweet in light of Hero Chapter and more recently, Hanayui’s ending. The Heroes won, but so many had to sacrifice everything to get there.

The shinju-sama is messed up for allowing a kid like Gin to use her power so much she died. I hate how they ran the stupid system. Like, you force _them_ to work for _you_ and then you take away their senses as if it's punishment for doing something wrong even though _you_ were the one who made them do it in the first place.
I think that is the price you have to pay for using Mankai, in response to ever increasing dangerous of Vertex. There is a catch when using Mankai because you are expending more Shinju-sama power than it can sustain, that is why the "offering" is made. I dont think Shinju-sama is at wrong here, but more to Taisha as they actively concealed such information even if the Heroes have right to know the price when they fight Vertex.
@@nogisonoko5409 But they don't have a choice. Most of the people given powers didn't chose to do it. The Shinju-sama choses who it wants to help fight. So not only are you forced to help, but you're forced to help fight a battle with no info on what the battle is and what the consequences are. Right, after a while you understand what happens and can choose to use less power, but the less power you use the harder it is to fight, and the consequences (like losing your sight or voice) never come back, apart from the time where they literally threatened to let everything loose in exchange for their senses back.

Instead of the offering, the Heroes are granted the power of Mankai from the beginning at the cost of losing their invulnerability and immortality, and Taisha held back nothing with one exception (and if they shared that knowledge, everyone becomes cursed by a power that can even neutralize the invulnerability). Even then, the system still "found" a really messed up way to sacrifice a Hero, by exploiting Yuuna's compassion and purity.
At the end of the season a lot of Taisha members, starting with the head priest, sacrificed themselves, perhaps out of penance, perhaps to contribute in whatever futile way to stave off suffering for the Heroes they revered, perhaps to punish those who refused to change. There's hints that not everyone was on board with the oracles, particularly Aki-sensei, the Sentinels, and (then) Sumi's mother, and those are just the ones we know about. Sonoko effectively staging a coup of Taisha in less than 4 years is probably a good indication that its members knew that things had to change in a big way, or that the writing was on the wall.
"No one was wrong, but what happened to the Heroes is still fundamentally wrong" is a core theme of this series, and it's a metaphor for modern society. Large societies and systems can and will grind innocent people to dust, and the people involved in the system are all equally responsible and powerless to stop it because the system "must" continue in order to reduce suffering for the vast majority of people living in it.
If you watch the Anime now you die all at once instead of dying bit by bit when watching when each episode came out

The lyrics are so peaceful yet so sad that they makes me cry! To think that at such a young age, they suffered so much, some didnt even get a happy ending-it breaks my heart. Salute to all heroes , both the past and the new generation; words are not enough. If I could hug them, I would!

あまりに友奈がおふざけ要素を出さないものだから裏があるのではとめちゃくちゃ疑ってた。勇者の章で初めて勇者部部員で口喧嘩紛いの口論した時にやや感情的になる友奈を拝見
その時にやっと人間らしさを見れたような実感があった

From my understanding, the fairies are power conduits of sorts that are connected to the Shinju. When Mankai is activated, the Shinju's power is channeled through them into the Hero. Same with Sange, but with a different sender. During the finale the Shinju gave nearly all of its power to Yuna in a more direct sense using Gyuki. So there's your answer, I think.
This is mostly my BS-ing, mind you, but there isn't too much to go on, so it's the best I got.
Gyuki disappeared because without the Shinju, there was no need for heroes or faeries to exist. I believe he and the other faeries were directly tied to the Shinju, so when it died, so did they. As for what Gyuki did, I believe it was the spirit of the Shinju giving Yuna the power of its Mankai through Gyuki as it couldn’t do it directly.
Hard choice, u should choose "Live in god world with Shinju-sama" or "Killed by the sky god (Amaterusu) *thats what people call it xD)"
Why Amaterusu want to destroy the world?
Well from what i heard (especially from someone that has read the entire novel). Some of the Gods discuss to destroy the humanity, so One side that wants to protect humanity they combine as a tree. The other side is... amaterusu.
That's the beginning, and about vertexes. Vertex was made by Amaterusu (*i remember it's telled already. But im forgot which episode it is). Sorry for bad english.
So if you really want to know more/deeply, read the novels too
As others have said. I believe the shinju gave yuna all its power to destroy the gods against the survival of humanity, and with both the gods against and for humanity gone, the earth returned to normal.
