Great review David , The old XS for me with a kickeez pad (GRAVY) you actually see a lot of S/H XS PRO's ! . Thinking of getting a 525 G3 32" some wood is as good as G5 on them👌🏻👌🏻

I loved the review comparing the old Ultra XS with the current version. I acquired a lovely 2010 vintage Ultra XS a couple of years ago, and it is a wonderful gun.I really enjoy shooting it. I did shoot a few shots with a Beretta costing £6k plus and as a heathen, ignoring the obviously better wood and more engraving, couldn't really tell the difference from a shooting perspective. I have replaced the original chokes with Teague chokes, and this saves a few grams at the end of the barrels. The weight saving increases when using tighter chokes. I would comment though that the wood on my Ultra XS seems more like grade 2 or possibly 3 than your description.

I prefer the palm swell on the old XS compared to the XS Pro...which I feel keeps your hand in more stable position than its new stable mate ...IMO..

Compare on a good scale the Ultra XS Pro chokes and barrels to the older Ultra XS and you'll find that the older Ultra XS has heavier barrels and Invector Plus Midas stainless steel chokes are also heavier. The new XS Pro has much lighter barrels and the Invector Plus Titanium chokes are also much lighter. Both guns use the same Invector Plus choke system, not the Invector DS. Try swapping the titanium vs stainless chokes on both guns, and you'll change completely the balance and swing characteristics of both guns.

The chokes in the Ultra XS Pro are NOT the DS chokes, they are Invector Plus chokes.

The new 2022 Miroku MK38 Sporter also has much lighter barrels than the same older models. Recently I bought a 2022 MK38 Sporter G5 32", and the new barrels weigh 1550g with two steel chokes inserted (same barrels weight than the Ultra XS Pro 32" with two lighter titanium chokes inserted). Older MK38 Sporter G5 (year 2010) 32" barrels had almost 1700g and to me they were excessively heavy and tired me after few shots.

Hello. I think the mk398 is a good choice and I am thinking of buying one . If possible, could you tell me if old and new are the same in terms of recoil or does the 2022 mk38 recoils less? Thank you.

How about a review on some the guns being produced by F.A.I.R
They might be a very interesting at this time, they have a nice price point.
    Fossari CRX9 comes to mind.
    Great reviews on this channel.

Miroku over browning, there is a reason why Browning doesn't want the Mk10 in England it would kill 525 and xs sales, the mk10 comp sporter grade 3, briley thin walls, dove tailed top rib, is a better gun than an xs for what half the price

@@Colinhunt68 it's an mk38 with far better features, and over here a grade 3 sells for 1500 pounds
