I did this process 6 weeks ago. For online extension you dont need to keep the receipt to put in your passport, it comes up on their system at the airport, I asked the immigration officer when I left the Phils just to make sure. You still pay the full price and you need to pay the expedite fee also. Theres no other option.
I wonder how if at all this will impact the ability to get a Philippines drivers license as I had challenges since I was missing one paper receipt. Time will tell
Hi Alex, did you start with the visa waiver, wait for it to be approved and THEN applied for the visa extension? I tried the extension first and it said: apply to waiver first ?! Thank you!!
You said you talked to the officer when leaving? When you leave on a visa extension do you keep the extension and can return? Or do you start over when you enter the country again?
I just went through the process after watching your video and it worked. I wasn't able to process the payment with my credit card but was able to use GCash. I also wasn't able to do the 6 month extension but heard those are temporarily suspended. Thanks for the video Gio.
I just obtained my 6 month extension 3 weeks ago. I keep hearing of the 6 month extension suspension, but the Immigration in Dumaguete were pushing the 6 month extension a mere 2-3 weeks ago.
Clarification: I just processed this after arriving Nov 22nd and seeking a 1 month extension. If you are on your original 30 day visa and wish to extend for 29 days, you must complete the FAR SIMPLER Visa Waiver page. No address or ACI info is needed for this first 29 extension. The terminology is confusing, to be sure, but if you fill things out per this video for only 1 month, you will receive an error at the end and be asked to do the Visa Waiver application instead.
Hi. What is this FAR SIMPLER VISA WAIVER PAGE? We are trying to extend initial 29 days but it says, failed becuase no travel record found, an error like that
Thats great its working now online. The dumaguete office is no longer doing 6 month extensions. They said the only office to get a 6 month extension is the main office in Manila. Hope the 6 month works online.
Didn’t work last month! The BI office said they still working on it. I’ll try it next time. If you normally pay the express fee to save a trip to the BI this could be great
It was good information for my future !!! And have questions about good and bad of Dual- Citizens and if should or not and of course will research this as time goes by !!!
Another option if this doesn't work for you is take a vacation. I hit the Immigration office in Baguio next to the Albergo hotel, I was in and out in less than 30 mins for 29 day extension. Safe travels everyone!
The best part of them not stamping your visa extension is it saves space on your passport 👍🏼 if you end up staying a long time it's still only one stamp out upon departure 🛫 makes sense to me. Just don't lose the receipt 😅😅😅😅
Thanks, Gio. great quick video. I'm going to the Philippines in a few months for the first time ever, so this should save me some time with less effort.
Why not just pay $16 for a onward ticket to another country to start the 30 day process over again ? Are they checking your passport for a stamp to that foreign country when you finally come home after 60 or more days?
I've always gotten a 6 month extension at the Davao BI. The online version gives you the option of 1 month, 2 months or a 6 month extension. No matter how often I chose the 6 month extension, it gives me a message that says "Failed! Invalid intended month/s of extension, minimum of 2 month/s extension only." So after multiple tries, I said the heck with it and chose the 2 month extension. That finally worked.
I opened an account right after I moved here. I’ve tried to use the service for both the 29 day and the 2 month extensions, but I was rejected. Still had to travel 3 hours to Legazpi for extensions. Anyone else having this issue?
This sounds great at first until I tried few days ago and still trying, however I got problems on my fiance's "Latest Visa Validity" which based on the receipt it says the specific date but when I hit submit, it says incorrect from what they have on their record. I don't know now what to do.

Hey Gio I’ve read online that everyone including US citizens must leave the Philippines every 59 days no matter what you extend but have not heard that information on any of the UA-cam channels- can you clarify? It doesn’t sound right ! Thank you
Unless this changed in the last couple of weeks you can only extend online IF you originally used the online extension from the first extension. In other words, if you've been here 3months or 6 or whatever and did not extend online you can't. You would need to leave the country and extend online starting then...
I would likely be doing this from an AirBnB and wouldn’t have a printer. Are there places you would recommend to go print out the receipt? (I understand it may not be necessary for touring, but suspect it could prove useful for other applications - leases, drivers licenses, banking, etc).
I think only the Waiver can be online. When I tried to get the next extension ( now) I got an error message: "Failed! Your application requires further assessment. Please proceed to the nearest Bureau of Immigration Office." Maybe later will be available.
I did get a six month extension in BGC earlier this year. That’s at the SM Aura Satellite office in BGC Manila. They also printed a new ACR card within 2 hours. Probably the best place in the Philippines for visa, extensions and unless you can do the online.
The online visa waiver for the tourist visa extension worked smoothly. But haven't seen anyone mentioning that the regular tourist visa extension can be done online successfully.
Gio....long time fan that has finally arrived in Cebu/Lapu Lapu area. Now this newbie is looking for 1 or more expat groups in this area that meet at a desigated location on a regular basis. Can anyone in Lapu Lapu or Cebu give me some info on these groups? I would be grateful.
Hello. I am citizen of GREECE (europe) . I will come for holidays in philippines . I have ticket for 32 days so I want to ask if I can take this 2 more days (I know that is 30 days without visa) In immigration in airport when I will arrive? Thanks you
Be careful with this. Your airline may ask for an onward itinerary within the 30 days when you check in. Or the immigration officer may ask for this on arrival. I guess a lot of people get around this with confirmed onward ticket services (check Google) that cost 12-15 dollars for a dummy ticket. When you arrive you get 30 days, and if your actual plan is 32 days you will need to do the online visa waiver extension at some point, which takes you to 59 days from original day of arrival.

Im going to get my visa extension this month for another 6 months. Been a year and half and this will take me to 2 years. How time flies! Anyway, I was wondering if they think you will say anything or theyll just give me the ACR card when I go to do my visa extension again since it still has 6 months left on it. Also, I wonder if this can be done at anytime? Before they said to come the last week of when your visa is suppose to expire. Seems like this will save 1 trip instead of 2 trips to immigration per year if you do 6 months because the ACR card still has to be renewed each year.
Yes. I'm in the middle of the process now. You have to select the nearest office (when filing online) and pick up there. They told us 3 or four weeks before getting the actual card.
Can someone please explain what the ACR card is exactly and how to get it? As I'm thinking of moving to the Philippines soon and most apartments say you need it before you can rent. Thanks in advance.
@@backontherighttrack.Alien Certificate of Registration(ID card)You get it once youve been in the country 2 months (techinally more than 59 days). You have to get it renewed annually. You get it at immigration when you go to renew. They charge you for it when its due when you renew and then you wait to pick it up again at immigration like the person above said...maybe a month. BI will give you a general time frame as to when to pick it up. I guess it depends on the BI and how busy they are. I think mine took like 2 weeks the first time then I forgot to go get it this 2nd time which is why I asked. When I first arrived I didnt have the ACR card obviouslt because I hadnt been here 2 months yet but they need some ID so they used ny passport at the condo I rented for a year.
Everybody. Make sure when you arrive in the Philippines that a proper picture is taken with their webcams. In my case they apparently did not and then the online service doesn't work. And never will work until I go in & out again. Or go to a BI office of course which is the advice of the customer service.

Payment amount would be useful.
I will be extending my visa online next month and I will do an update video
75 cad for us per each, second one one $200 cad each for us
