I still have an ORIGINAL Rapala, new in the box, that I discovered in my late uncle's tackle box thirty years ago, that had probably been in there for thirty years or more. All the writing is Finnish and you can clearly see the wraps of foil on it. It's one of my prized possessions.

Thanks 🙏 I never tried the foam, I've learned that you must wait long time after the pour, for the foam blank to degass, otherwise youlyget plenty of bubbles in the clear coat

@@serfish101 it's neither, the material I'm using is fiber glass - epoxy laminate - same as used to make circuit boards - it's even stronger than lexan policarbonate 😉

What specific super glue do you use? And is that uv nail polish coating is durable, strong?

Hi, any super glue will do, I'm using cheapest available in my country, is medium viscosity so ok for everything. The UV clear is surprisingly durable, I'm using my nail UV lamp 3* 99sec after I'm hanging the lure in sunny place for a day, the hardness is comparable with epoxy, when it comes to toothy predators, however if you cast to the rock it came off on chunks, opposite to epoxy.

Mam pytanie kiedy szlifujesz boki zaraz po wycięciu kształtu z deseczki to jak robisz żeby zawsze było równo bo mi wychodzi np. ciutkę mniej w jedną stronę i przy próbie sklejenia części jak by są nierówne i nie sklejaja się idealnie

Nie wiem czy zauważyłeś, ale sklejam taśma dwustronna obie połówki a dopiero potem wycinam kształt 😉 jeszcze potem szlifuje prostopadłym blokiem, żeby mieć pewność, że wszystko jest równe 🙂

I'm sorry, again no luck here, the one I'm using I have already 6 years (I'm only making small amount lures for personal use) and since then have been discontinued 🫤 Based on other UA-camrs recommendations I would go for True Coat Epoxy, that's what I'm planning to buy when mine will finish 😉

Интересно, но особо бесполезно. Трудозатраты довольно высокие, мне бы такой воблер оторвать было бы жальче чем покупной, хотя не ловлю дешевыми. Но Фишка в том что покупные они стабильного качества, здесь же игра будет всегда отличаться

Качество и работа - это именно то, что мне нужно для данного промысла / вида рыб. Страйк-цена однозначно ниже, чем у воблера Rapala. Конечно, если бы это было на продажу, это было бы дороже 😉 Все ловят то, что им нравится и для чего лучше всего, я использую только свои приманки 😉

For floating baits definitely. Way more bouyancy. Also faster and easier to make the lure body 😉 but when I go for sinking wooden lure, or I would like to carve some gill details etc. my go to is Bass Wood 😃
