It’s years since you’ve made this video and you’re still saving coffee makers. I was just about to toss it but decided to see if I could find a video.... and here you are. Just had to tell you that you are as relevant in 2021 as you were when you first made this video. Thank you Sir🙏🏽
great, i was about to get a new one, then i saw your video and fix my problem ,thank you so much. !!!!! if you ever visit Tijuana we invite you a cold one!!!
Ronald, I can't thank you enough for giving me back my machine. I've only had it 8 months and last week was the last time I was able to brew a K cup. I was ready to chuck the machine and buy a different coffeemaker. Today, I stumbled on this video. ⬆ I inserted a straightened paper clip, and the grounds and water that had been trapped in the nozzle came pouring out. I then ran 2 cups of just hot water to flush the line out, and it works great. Thank You!!
My wife and I just purchased one and after 5 cups, it stopped working. My wife was bummed because she was super excited for this machine. We got it for such a great deal, I was starting to think i knew why. My first search and found this video, and emmediatetly worked for me. The backed up water just started flowing out. Thank you so much! I
Thank you! My husband has been fiddling around for a while trying to get the k-cup side to work. He got frustrated and went out to work on the barn. I watched your video and fixed the problem in less than a minute. I took him his cup of coffee and gloated just a little ;-). Thanks again for making this video.
I just returned one that was doing this and the new one started doing it on the second day. I thought there was a serious problem with their design and was about to give up on owning one. It took 5 seconds following your video to repair the new one. Thank you very much.
You seriously saved me! I was about to go buy a new one. I stuck the paper clip up one time and all the water came out. Thanks so much! I just wish I’d seen this before I wasted 3 kcups lol 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I had the same problem. Tried cleaning it out with vinegar, which does help get the main coffee pot side flowing normally. But the K-cup side remained clogged. The paperclip trick solves the problem instantly! Thank you very much!
God bless your soul. after 3 attempts at making my morning cup, 30 minutes trying to figure out how to get the vinegar water through that side, and broken heart. you've helped me get it up and running again and saved me so much money
Thank you! I drink coffee all day. Since yesterday I've been ready to bounce this machine off the wall. Kept getting an error message "overload". I tried emptying the water out of the entire machine and cleaned all visable parts but nothing worked. I pushed a pin into that piece and nothing came out but then I tapped hit firmly on the counter and more and more coffee grinds kept coming out, amazi ng how much considering the size of the piece. Anyway, just sat down to a fresh hot cup thanks to your share! We've gone through about 4 of these flex brews too, never knowing what the simple to fix problem was. It really is a great machine, has Kuerig beat by a mile. Thanks again, this coffee fanatic ain't jonesing anymore. 😋
Thank you! It has been driving me crazy that the single side of my coffee pot hasn’t been working and I haven’t been able to figure out how to fix it. Thanks so much!!
Thank you so much...this is my second Flexbrew and I use the single cup all the time, so when the error comes, this is such a quick fix, HAMILTON Beach should tell you this instead of the hassle of warranty replacement. Your fix worked great.
So happy to report that this WORKED for me! I got a single serve FlexBrew for Christmas, and it stopped working in the beginning of February. I am so happy that it was such an easy fix. Thank you!
Sir Ronald' thanks for the fix. I cleaned mine both from underneath and from the reservoir and now it's working perfectly. Now, what is this charity that folks are talking about donating too?
Ok, I have never used the single serving until today because I usually use the coffee maker. But the Kcup didn't work and I was upset because I bought some Kcups that I really wanted to use. Looked on UA-cam and found this very, very helpful video. Thank you so much for helping my flexbrew to work again. I was so happy. What an easy fix. YAY!!!
I just bought this and it came with soft cups, which work fine. Then I used a hard kcup that I use with mine at work, and the exact thing happened. I will try this when I get home. i was worried it couldn't handle the plastic kcups, but I see you are using them, so I will still have faith that I can acutally use the single brewing side of this maker. Thank You
Hi Ron. Yep, I have has this for about 2 months and have been having this trouble for the past 2 weeks. The paperclip pipe cleaner was a good quick method. To add, since this is pushing coffee back into the water feed tube, I suggest running clean water through a few times (for me 4 times) until there were no coffee grounds seen. Also, I would also make sure that at minimum the "press down" latch is lifted when down brewing so the coffee does not get trapped in the spike. Thanks for your help. This was the trick
Thank you! I was just about to bring mine back. Very simple fix to an awesome coffee maker. I bought it as gifts to family and friends. I will send your video so they will know how to fix the problem when it happens to them. I want say after 120 K cups is when it happens
Holy crap, I logged in just to thank you for this. I freaking love my machine and was so disappointed when I thought I would have to scrap it, you are the man. Worked perfectly, thanks sir!
Thannnnks!!! I was so bummed out thinking I had to get a new coffee maker. I did this with a stick pin and ran a little vinegar and water through and now it's good as new!
used this to fix ours today! Thank you! hubby was so disappointed without the coffee, so i looked up a fix and found your video. Also for whoever talked about the ERR sign, i get that all the time if i put to much water in the fill tank, there is a max line on the side, no where even close to full. haven't gotten ERR otherwise
Magnificent!!! Your video not the coffee maker design flaw. Purchased for my father a few weeks ago and he NEEDS his coffee. Thank you sooo much!!! Still had my receipt but now don't have to hassle. Just an FYI for everyone out there: You can use k cups with the travel mug "ground" setting if, like my father, a normal mug is too strong. Thanks again!!!
I don’t own this unit, but it was what the B&B provided, and I really wanted some coffee. In my case, I poured a standard 16 oz / 500ml water bottle into the reservoir, and put two scoops of grounds into the basket. Much to my dismay, a couple of seconds after hitting brew, it just beeped and said "ERR". All the videos pretty much offer the paperclip solution, but once I was willing to turn it upside down and pour out 4 oz of the water into the sink, it worked like a champ!
Thank you so much for this. My machine had only been used a handful of times and I thought to myself “this cannot possibly work how could it be clogged after like 4 uses” turns out it was the problem 😂
Ron you saved me I have been upset all day, I will not use kcups again in this besides it's much cheaper just using the grounds and we love our folgers. Thank you so much for the video. You are awesome and a life saver. You have never seen my husband with out his morning coffee
Yay, I have coffee!!!!! Thank you so much! My husband bought this for me a few months ago after his dad broke my Keurig and I was afraid this one was a goner too. Hamilton Beach should reward you for this. :)
yes i had the same problem , i had it just over 1 month, did what this video said to do, presto, fixed.. thank you for sharing this i paid good money for this product, almost 100/00 alot for a coffee pot. and a bit more. fixed it no more leaking.. the hose was off the where it shows here in the video.. so hopefully will fix all of it.. I will post if have other problems..
Today I had my first err with my Hamilton Beach.... I did exactly what you said and it worked. Thank you sooooo much. I was getting cranky with idea I wasn’t going to have my morning coffee.... thank you again 😎
After having a single Kcup maker for years we craved a pot being made on the weekends. Researched a bunch of models and choose this one. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxL8yFdHfPF4ObeIwJ5JdM3i_9XLnbjUC2 We love it! We wanted a water reservoir for the single cup so we didn’t have to pour water in every cup but the other models it fed the water to the coffee pot to so by the time we made one pot we’d have no water left. This model has the traditional pour in feature for the pot and the reservoir for the cup which works great for us. Love how there is a bunch of holes pouring the water over the coffee, makes it taste much better. Only drawback I have is the way the lid is angled on the pot section it’s hard to get the last bit of water out of the pot into the machine without it spilling somewhere else.
you are so awesome..... I was at a los as what to do, so glad i found this video. just tried this trick, and now i am drinking a single cup . thank you so much.
Omg this def worked on my coffee pot cause I wasnt getting all the water back that I put in and it was making loud croaking sounds. Brewed a cup after unclogging and I got a full cup and no more sounds. Thank you so much!!
Woah dang! This just saved me another trip back to Canadian Tire and another headache! I've gone through two of these already, now on my third. I can't believe the fix was so simple. You're awesome for uploading this, I doubt many people would go through the hassle of calling a coffee machine support line. I know I didn't plan to. You just saved my morning (actually probably a lot of them)!
YES! Thank you. I was getting ready to return mine! Now it's fixed!!!! I really like this coffee maker, only had it a week, then it stopped making coffee in the K Cup side. I use the brew side but by DH uses the K Cup. Solution found thanks to you.
OMG I LOVE YOU!! I've only used the single serve side a handful of times and wasted several kcups trying to get that thing to work. I used a safety pin and one stick up there and water just started pouring out. I was also concerned because I couldn't figure out why the top was so hot and steaming so bad. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Good morning Ronald Kretz, I do not know you, but you are my new best friend. Thank you so much for posting this video. I have been having this problem with my awesome coffee maker now a few months, and thought I was screwd over with buying a defected product. Finally decided to do some research on it by describing my problem, and your video was the first one I saw. A wonderful Top-of-the-morning to you, as I am able to enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee. YOU ARE THE BOSS!!!!!!! Once again, thank you....
I had this problem today and I did what you said except no paperclip but found a piece of wire. Worked great! I haven't used a Kcup in there for over a year just regular ground coffee. So I guess there is sediment up in there sometimes. Thank you! Thank you! Have a Happy Holiday!
Ronald, Thanks you saved me from tossing this thing in the garbage - I own the model 49995 Flex Brew Single - same problem. Glad I checked the internet one more time - your post saved me $$ -
Thank you for this! I have been trying to figure out what is going on with mine and this helps me so much! After I cleaned out the spike/plunger, I ran water through a cycle just to get out any extra coffee grounds floating around up there. Problem solved, thank you!
I also wanted to add that I used your tip and the straw tip in another video and I got out so many old coffee grounds as a result. Both excellent videos and great tips. Thanks again!
Not sure how, but this little fix cured my ailing coffee pot. It's working again as if it's new. I especially enjoyed using such a 'high-tech' tool (a paper clip) for the repair. ;-)Thanks, Ron!
Thank you!! I have the newer model of this, and I've been trying to figure out the issue all day! I hope both sides of your pillow are always cool and your cell phone always has battery.
THANK YOU!!!! So grateful you took the time to post a quick fix!! My husband was getting so frustrated with the single serve. I found your video and WOW! simple fix and the water started pouring out immediately!!!
Thank you so much. I have only had this machine for a couple months and it stopped working out of nowhere. I was so worried I'd have to waste money buying a new one.
you are a lifesaver/moneysaver!!!!!!!!!!! This just happened today and I'm so excited that I don't have to get rid of it because it is a great coffeemaker. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to agree with everyone else, you are amazing! I was ready to chuck my HB into the garbage when I saw your video. You saved me a $100. Thanks again for this video.
Ronald that you SO much for the post. Haven't had a single serve cup of coffee in a month and gave it one last try with your paperclip suggestion and voila there was coffee! I will make a donation and hope you are doing well.
Thank you so much for the video! I love this coffee maker and thought it was broken. I followed your directions and it works great. You saved me time, money and a caffene withdrawal. Thanks again.
Thank you Ron!!!! I'm on my 3rd. I really do love the versatility of this coffee maker. #HamiltonBeach should either send a paper clip in with instructions in every box or at least print this quick fix on the trouble shooting page.
Thanks so much! I have only had this coffee maker about 2 weeks and I love the option of kcup or full pot. I was so upset when it all the sudden didn't work. I now have the problem fixed!
Thank you! I was about to rip apart the entire machine to try and fix this issue. You saved me plenty of time and all sorts of "leftover screws" lol. Thank you sir!
I am sssoooo glad you made this video we just bought this coffee maker 2 days ago and it started acting up last night. I couldn't figure it out but i did exactly what you showed in the video and it was like magic...I really like this coffee maker and was hoping i wouldn't have to return it. This was very helpful thank you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS FIX! I have been trying to figure out the issue with my mini for weeks. I saw the paper clip trick but I was only putting it through the holes on each side, not up into the needle. Turns out that was the issue! So happy I don't have to stop for coffee every morning anymore!!!!
Absolutely amazing. We were on our way to drive an hour and return it when we decided to google a solution instead. I think it's actually the paper from the top of the k cup which is clogging the tube. Regardless...you are the man!!!
Thank you! I received this as a Christmas gift from my daughters & the Kerig part has not worked properly. From errors to not brewing at all. I will try this as soon as I find a paper clip :)
I have not tried this yet. The pod side quit working yesterday. The water was almost out. Hoping that didn't cause the problem. Thank you, i will try this. Can't stand not having my coffee! Used the caraffe this morning for the first time.
Right on! I've been having the same problem for a long time. Just cleaned the needle with a paper clip and it was magical. Thank you for the tip. I was actually going to get another one.
Dude! This JUST started happening to me this morning and I'm on edge without the Joe! LOL. Gonna try this real quick and get back to ya UPDATE: Boom! This was the fix. Thanks again
Thank you! Just removed the new coffee maker off my Christmas list! For those that haven't tried this in my experience it wasn't even much blocking the needle but it must have been enough to be setting off my alerts. Back on my way to making cofee with pods again.
Amazing! I love my coffee make but was so disappointed to see it didnt work after just 2 months of use. Your solution fixed the problem! Im so glad its not actually broken! Thanks!
Awesome! I was frustrated. This is my 2nd HB Flexbrew. My first one had the same problem. I thought it was because I was using tap water. So I bought a nrw one and have only used filtered water im this one. When it started having the same problem, I was ticked. Watched your video, tried the fix, problem solved!! 🍵🍵🍵🍵
Thanks a lot Ron. I live overseas so getting and keeping a good coffeemaker is a pain. These are actually very cheap at the exchange, and I also have been through a few. I was shopping online for a new one when I looked for a fix and found you. Cheers Bud!
Thanks so much for this...I've had mine for 1.5 yrs without any issues...just recently this started happening. I would run vinegar through the unit a few time and it would help but not for long so I'll try this trick. LOVE this coffee maker because it is so flexible and not that expensive compared to Keurigs, etc.
Thank you for posting this! This morning is one of the coldest days we've had in our area in 20 years. I was looking forward to a nice hot specialty coffee. Tried 2 K-cups and nothing but a few drips in the mug. Found your video and a couple minutes later I'm sipping that drink I was so looking forward too.
Thank you! I just got the coffee maker this week. Had the same problem and was taking the inner hoses out, etc. I was about to return it (or smash the $*@f out of it). But just tried this and worked like a charm!! THANK YOU
What Ron suggested did help. I got to thinking, we use water with minerals in it. I have a feeling it is a calcium build up. Same as what would happen if you did not use distilled water in an iron. After I did what Ron suggested, which did help, I ran a cup of white vinegar through it. The flow was back full strength. I may try running CLR through it when it happens again. Good job Ron. Here's an ATTABOY for you
Hey Ron, thanks I thought that was the problem, it happened to an old Keurig I had for a long time, but with the Keurig it took a long time before the nozzle clogged. This happened in about 3 weeks, but I appreciate the video. Thanks...
Thank you so much for this information!! I had not been able to use the K-cup side for over a week. Thought I would have to buy a new coffee maker but thanks to you fixed it in just a couple of minutes. Thanks again.
Thanks, I love the coffee maker but have taken one back because of this problem and now have another with the same problem. Good to know this can be fixed.

😆🥰
Lol! I'm laughing at imagining his reaction
I knew it was a clog in the plumbing somewhere I just didn't think it would be so easy to fix! Thank you!
I just returned one that was doing this and the new one started doing it on the second day. I thought there was a serious problem with their design and was about to give up on owning one. It took 5 seconds following your video to repair the new one. Thank you very much.

Bought this at a thrift store and the k-cup side didn't work. Found your video and now it works. Best $7 I've spent in awhile. Thank you!!
I just got an error message this morning saying needle along with only half a cup of coffee. Watched your video and all is well. Thank you so much!!!
So happy to report that this WORKED for me! I got a single serve FlexBrew for Christmas, and it stopped working in the beginning of February. I am so happy that it was such an easy fix. Thank you!

+Matt Mooney Miller Lite Please lol. Enjoy!
do you mean 6 pack of K cups??

You just saved me a trip back to return this! I stuck a paper clip in and within a second water started coming out!!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks a bunch. Went to the machine after this and the second I started doing what you showed it began pouring out water. Saved me a lot of trouble.
Omg this def worked on my coffee pot cause I wasnt getting all the water back that I put in and it was making loud croaking sounds. Brewed a cup after unclogging and I got a full cup and no more sounds. Thank you so much!!

+Pedro Osbourne Awesome my new friend!
Glad I checked the internet one more time - your post saved me $$ -

you sir are a scholar and a saint, you saved my wedding present and deserve a gold medal in the sport of awesomeness
THANK YOU!!!! I was freaking out. Only had mine about a month. Thought it was dead. All fixed now. YOU ROCK
Thank you! I was dismayed to think that my beloved Hamilton Beach Flexbrew wouldn't work, and your "fix" corrected it! Many thanks!
Thank you so much. I have only had this machine for a couple months and it stopped working out of nowhere. I was so worried I'd have to waste money buying a new one.
Thank you! Hamilton Beech owes you a huge check. I already ordered a new machine and then I found your video. Works like a dream.
you are a lifesaver/moneysaver!!!!!!!!!!!
1 toothpick and 10 seconds got me up and running again. Thank you.
Ronald Kretz, THANK YOU!! You are awesome for sharing this fix. Just did as you said; it's now working perfectly. Made my day!
Ronald that you SO much for the post. Haven't had a single serve cup of coffee in a month and gave it one last try with your paperclip suggestion and voila there was coffee! I will make a donation and hope you are doing well.
Doing as well as a person can be with this Cancer. Life is good! Not cured until we find one but Good.
Glad to hear it. Stay positive and hang in there :)
Thank you so much for the video! I love this coffee maker and thought it was broken. I followed your directions and it works great. You saved me time, money and a caffene withdrawal. Thanks again.
thanks for the tip. just got one of these couple days ago. my friend, u might have just saved 55 min of life and a gallon of gas. thanks again.
Thank you Ron!!!! I'm on my 3rd. I really do love the versatility of this coffee maker. #HamiltonBeach should either send a paper clip in with instructions in every box or at least print this quick fix on the trouble shooting page.
Hat tip to you Ronald! I've had this problem for months! I used a pipe cleaner. Now it works fine!
Thanks so much! I have only had this coffee maker about 2 weeks and I love the option of kcup or full pot. I was so upset when it all the sudden didn't work. I now have the problem fixed!
+Tara Elliott The great news is that I have had mine for about 8 months now and this is the only problem. I love mine too!
Thank you! I was about to rip apart the entire machine to try and fix this issue. You saved me plenty of time and all sorts of "leftover screws" lol. Thank you sir!
Thanks! Fixed in 10 seconds after not brewing a coffee in several weeks. Cheers!
You are a life saver,I followed your instructions and the machine works great now,I owe you a cup of ☕️ Thanks from Canada, God bless you.
I'm so glad I don't have to throw my coffee maker away. Thanks to you it's up and running again. Thank you.
Hands down the most useful video on youtube. This fix made my wife super happy!!
Nathan Cail Happy Wife Happy Life lol
Thank you thank you thank you. Thought my Christmas present had broken already and was very upset. Cleaned it out and now its working beautifully.
Thank you! I received this as a Christmas gift from my daughters & the Kerig part has not worked properly. From errors to not brewing at all. I will try this as soon as I find a paper clip :)
Fixed my coffeemaker in 15 seconds. Thank you so much! It IS a great coffemaker, and I dod not want to replace it.
Wow!!! We haven’t used the kcup part in so long because I thought it was going to blow up. I am going to try this. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you thank you thank you! I thought that side was broken for a year and a half! We tried this and it worked!
I have not tried this yet. The pod side quit working yesterday. The water was almost out. Hoping that didn't cause the problem.
Thank you, i will try this. Can't stand not having my coffee! Used the caraffe this morning for the first time.
Thank you for this, woke up to this very same problem this morning and thanks to you still got morning coffee
Right on! I've been having the same problem for a long time. Just cleaned the needle with a paper clip and it was magical.
Thank you for the tip.
I was actually going to get another one.
Dude! This JUST started happening to me this morning and I'm on edge without the Joe! LOL.
Gonna try this real quick and get back to ya
UPDATE: Boom!
Thanks!
Thank-you very much for this video. This fix is so simple it is rediculas. Was looking right at it and did not see it. Works better than ever!
holy moly coffee is my life and I love my machine and when it stopped working I thought life would stop thank you so much fixed the problem right away
Thank you! This was driving me crazy, couldn't figure out why the water was staying in the reservoir. This was such a quick fix!
Society owes you a debt of gratitude for this video sir! Thank you!! ☕️
Thank you! I just got the coffee maker this week. Had the same problem and was taking the inner hoses out, etc. I was about to return it (or smash the $*@f out of it). But just tried this and worked like a charm!! THANK YOU
You don't want to know how many I returned before I found this out
What Ron suggested did help. Here's an ATTABOY for you
Spot on advice. My machine was only brewing about a third of what it should have and this did the trick.
Thank you so much!!! I was heartbroken when I came across this problem, but now it’s fixed!
Thanks, I love the coffee maker but have taken one back because of this problem and now have another with the same problem. Good to know this can be fixed.
