Ok. Divine. Both parts: perfection.
So far on the surface we seem compliant, however… I really, really want us to disobey. To have some metaphorical backbone even if it’s foolish to do so.
The idea of a “warning offense” and getting cut up some to reprimand us (his line about using a knife despite being a sorcerer was 🔥 )is a route I’m interested to explore. He has the ability to seem so calming despite being so evil, and the idea of him being soothing yet simultaneously patronizing us as he cuts us up for disobeying is appealing for some reason.

This is a fascinating story. Perhaps the Listener is a double agent for whatever Agency sent them [Crown, Church, etc.] and will try to disrupt the Warlock from within. Or, the Warlock is meant to test the Listener and find that *one place* they will not cross. Maybe both? The mushy romantic in me wants them to fall in love, but that probably wouldn't work. Or would it? Excited and curious to see what's next.

this character is so confusing to me..( not in a bad way ) I can't tell if I feel I can trust him or not..his tone is soothing and he has a way about him that feels trustworthy..but then he will break it by becoming dominant and making it known he doesn't have an issue really hurting me..like I'm kind of disposable..but me having a strong power within ...but then reverts back to being soothing and gaining my trust again..I'm so confused and soothed XD
