The Warp Grenade does a ton of damages against the bosses (at least half its health if you time it right before they teleport), so always save them for those encounters when you find one.

While this game certainly scratches the itch of boomer shooter and Doom vibes. There is another game that while not as detailed in pixilation but offers objectively more content and stronger emphasis on the Doom side of these boomer shooters called Nightmare Reaper, that game will do way more than just put hair on peaches, and I have been having my eyes set on that one as well as this game. I concur with every take in this save for the plasma gun. That thing is actually decent in a pinch BUT! if it was replaced with a FLAMER, that would truly be the Emperor's Justice!
Taunt is CTRL key for me, I press it every single time I kill a Chaos Space Marine. And I spam it on bosses. Incredible game. Hope it gets mod support so we can add some more levels, enemies, campaigns, weapons.... taunts.... Tzeentch's portal games were cool, too. It goes from a normal semi flat planed boomer shooter to a kind of weird trippy open world puzzle game, it's sudden it's jarring, but it's not difficult enough to get anyone stuck for any measurable length of time... so it's back to shooting and you're there cursing Tzeentch for trying to corrupt your mind. So to me, that feels really well designed. I appreciate them actually trying to show more than just a Sternguard wrecking shop, because the 40k universe is insanely deep, and wide. Hence the need for modding support!!!

If you upgrade the Plasma gun us can guarantee you your opinion would change. Upgraded Plasma is a boss melter especially in the 1st and early 2nd chapter (until you get the melta)
@@rocketscientist14 you really need to memorize health packs in later purge rooms and and to always look for that damn vortex nade to kill bosses quicker. If you don't have a vortex nade then you need to find a cheese area for the bosses. Not to flex or anything but only 0.4% of steam players have beat the game in Exterminatus 😏

It's ok. getting into the hobby is hard, and it has a lot of barriers of entry. Part of why warhammer exploded in the late 90s early 2000s was an amazon review by a Harvard neuroscientist, who explained that Warhammer stimulates both sides of the brain, raising intelligence, creativity, math, and other neurological skills. it makes people smarter, but it is a bitch to get into. most people do not have the space for a 6x4 war games table.
Tips and tricks: The Plasma gun should be treated as an impact grenade launcher. It may be slow to fire but it hits hard and has an AOE. When facing blobs of Nurglings and other chaff like cultists you can 1-shot small groups of them clumped together. And it's also handy against pink demons for an easy 1-shot. The Gravity Gun is your anti-boss weapon, use it against end-level boss enemies and things like chaos termies, Ambuls, and Exalted Flamers for easy kills. It's a similar situation to the Meltagun, but ammo for these is notoriously rare. The Volkite gun is all-around solid. It'll gib most low tier enemies in a fraction of a second and does decent damage against everything else Use the shotgun against all but the toughest enemies. You won't be disappointed, it's basically the bolter but better with its DPS. Save the Boltgun until you find special ammo for it in secret areas, then use it against heavier enemies. Finally, don't be afraid to just go to town with the chainsword. Majority of cultists go down instantly to it. And after reducing their health, you can gib chaos marines and flamers with it. Save your grenades for groups of enemies or heavier ones. This is probably self explanatory but on Exterminatus difficulty a well placed nade WILL save your butt. And especially save vortex grenades for bosses. The heavy bolter is your friend. It's just the bolter but better honestly, and will pretty easily mow down most enemies. Do NOT stop moving. Sprint everywhere, all the time. It's detrimental to stand still most of the time. Movement is life in this game because the enemy will have a harder time hitting you. Running around like a crackhead on speed is basically required.

Finally, don't be afraid to just go to town with the chainsword. Majority of cultists go down instantly to it. And after reducing their health, you can gib chaos marines and flamers with it.
Save your grenades for groups of enemies or heavier ones. This is probably self explanatory but on Exterminatus difficulty a well placed nade WILL save your butt. And especially save vortex grenades for bosses.
The heavy bolter is your friend. It's just the bolter but better honestly, and will pretty easily mow down most enemies.
Do NOT stop moving. Sprint everywhere, all the time. It's detrimental to stand still most of the time. Movement is life in this game because the enemy will have a harder time hitting you. Running around like a crackhead on speed is basically required.
Always find the vortex grenade in your area. Use it in conjunction with the grave cannon and watch mofos *melt*
