Like Mechanical Rhythm, it has to be stated that this is a NORMAL battle theme lol. You fight random trash to this. Xenoblade games give 0 Fs, they go hard on every battle theme. This song actually gets used a lot in random youtube videos for stuff like highlight montages. If you love this one, you'll probably also love Four-limbed Titan - Gormott from this same soundtrack.
Awesome reaction Jesse! Big thing I've noticed with this song is that it does loop a lot, but it's incredibly dense. It feels lush and overwhelming, and everytime I listen I can focus on a different instrument and it's like a whole new song. What's absurd is that it's the standard battle theme, pick a fight with the weakest goblin and this just starts blasting.
Battle Torna is easily one of my favorite battle themes ever. Every song in the series is just so incredible. If you enjoyed the jazz battle theme, I would recommend 'Time to Fight (Bionis Shoulder)' and 'FogBeast Battle' from Future Connected.
The moment that goes from 3:50 to 4:30 is incredible. I've never heard something that sophisticated in a video game, especially considering it is just the regular battle theme...
Torna, what to say about Torna... Torna is the expansion that elevates base Xenoblade 2's story to a point to easily rival or exceed the original Xenoblade. It makes emotionally impactful moments from the base more so, it makes strong motivations stronger while giving them gut wrenching impact, it explains so many facets of the personalities of characters in 2. And is easily one of the greatest expansion packs ever made for a rpg.
No, it doesn't. It's a fun expansion, but it's severely lacking in the story & characters department. Only 3 characters actually get any development, everyone else is basically an ancestor cameo or regular cameo appearance at best. It doesn't do much in the way of answering questions either. It's decent, but it really doesn't add much, if anything to the story of the original. It expands a bit on the lore, but you really don't miss anything if you don't play it (but the gameplay is fun, the music is great and the visuals are great too, so I'd recommend playing through it for those reason). Story & character-wise, Torna is easily the weakest the franchise has to offer (counting XC1, XC1's Future Connected part, XCX, XC2 and Torna).
@@badlatency9979 I've seen a few, actually. I also pay good attention to the different elements that make up a story. I quickly notice it when characters lack depth or are only there to fulfil certain roles. And I also notice subtle touches of character depth most folks seem to not notice at all. And I'm also pretty good in predicting what is going to happen since in writing, there is often no reason to mention something unless something is going to be done with it.
@@thenonexistinghero alright, without going into spoilers because I refuse to significantly spoil any Xeno game... Every single character you describe as a "cameo character" was known, in base XC2, to have _been part of_ the the story that takes place in Torna. Canonically. So in that specific instance you're absolutely incorrect, as those characters were all known to be a part of the story before the game was made. So that criticism, which seems to be the strongest one of your point, falls on it's face. Secondly you claim that nothing is particularly answered and that is also very wrong since a very important question about the whys of particular character's mental state leading to the events of the base game is absolutely answered. Other questions, particularly if you know greater Xeno lore going back to Xenosaga and Xenogears, answer a lot of the questions regarding the connections between the protagonist of 2 and...one of the characters of Torna who is not the protagonist purely because Torna isn't their story even though it explains many of their events. Especially if you pay attention to side quests and lore building. So again, you're wrong. Explicitly so. For someone who claims to pay attention I get the feeling you didn't pay attention at all. Either you're missing something vital from 2 or from Torna because you're missing very important connections lorewise and with characters that are major plot points and then claim they aren't there in the game at all.
I don't think I'd say it's better then the original xenoblade but that might just be because there is less of it but hard agree I significantly prefer it to xenoblade 2 in general, think tornas combat is my favourite combat out of all the games

The man wants more Xenoblade, so let’s give him what he wants! There are 2 songs you will likely have to choose from Xenoblade Chronicles (the first one) to react to first…they are: 1) “Main Title Theme” (Main Menu) 2) “You will Know Our Names” I simply cannot recommend theses enough lol.
As a huge xenoblade fan I hate to admit I haven't played this expansion yet, bought the season pass when it first came out back then too lmao. This song is fire tho, reminds me a bit of Sophistocated Fight from Trails in the Sky. Edit: Almost 5 months since this reaction wow,, only felt like the other day tbh lol.. Finally finished Torna the other day, and I can say that after almost 40 hours this song never once got stale xD great expansion to a great game. Can't wait for Xenoblade Chronicles 3!
You can really appreciate this series music even if you haven’t played the games. I first heard about it when Shulk was released for Smash 4, and I looked at the gameplay but I wasn’t super interested. However, when I listened to the music, man did I just jump into a hole kinda like what you’re doing now. Hopefully more tracks from either games OST gets requested. Great Reaction!
YES ! Hell yeah !! I've been waiting for this ! This is the track I dance to when I need to let out energy ! This is the regular battle theme for this expansion ! The regular one ! There's just... there's just nothing like this in game music. This is something else !!
Just another request, I’m gonna be sending a lot of them, but you should totally listen to the Main Theme of the original Xenoblade Chronicles, Composed by Yoko Shimomura, the same composer of Kingdom Hearts. Maybe you can watch it too, just watching the title screen is really awesome.
Thank you so much for this video 😄 I would love to see you reacting to Moebius Battle from Xenoblade Chronicles 3, that would be fire 🔥🔥🔥 Keep up the good work!
So there's what I would consider...a sister theme to this I guess in Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Conected. I say that cause ACE was apparently in a Jaz kinda mood for both Expansions and the battle theme has the same kinda energy and it's just SO dang good. It's not as intense as this, but it's a phenomenal jazzy song. It's also a normal battle theme. I think it's called Time to Fight (Bionid Shoulder)
Since Torna's battle theme is a groovy battle theme....I gotta sneak in another Trails request and ask for Sophisticated Fight from Trails in the Sky. Another jazzy battle theme but less intense and more relaxed. There's also the Zanmai version but it's just a remix from them, never used in any game, but it's amazing as well JRPGs with jazz battle themes man, good god, amazing stuffs
Believe it or not, up until it starts to fade out around the 6 minute mark the song doesn't complete a perfect loop. Sure, there are repeated sections, but there are small variations throughout the whole track. A 6 minute loop for the basic battle theme.
