Top video, genuine honest and thorough 👍 you’re absolutely right the pictures don’t do it justice. I’m looking to start my own personal adventure on a Dutch barge, thanks for your quality presentation I’m going to have a look myself…Young Adam could do with your handy work. It’s moored their too and it’s probably great too! But again the pictures are even worse!!! Thank you…Keep having fun it’s infectious ❤
Aww thank you so much for your kind comments, she is a lovely barge, we were really pleasantly surprised 😁 That’s great to hear you’re going to have a look, we would love to know how you get on! We have also seen Young Adam, you never know we might get to go on and video that one too 😁
You two should do this for a commission. Excellent work indeed. I just gave a Realtor here in Alaska a pocket listing and you immediately had me thinking of buying that boat, renewing our passports, getting animals passports and health insurance for my wife...LOL 😂
@@WidebeamandWellingtons yep i know what you mean. That would be the one to get across to france in !!!. When you think our boats now would be about £200.000 each 😒
Amazing boat, lovely to look around. Many thanks, great video this week. Do you see yourselves changing out the widebeam for a barge? Personally, I'd be 50/50, lol.
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 thanks for the presentation I understand that living on a river on a barge is quite common in most European countries where there's a river more so than here unless you are in Vancouver Toronto or Halifax ciao
I am binge watching and trying to catch up on your videos. Can the Dutch Barges travel all of the same canals that the widebeam boats do or are they restricted to certain widebeam canals?
Aww thank you, we hope you’re enjoying them 😊 it does depend on the size of the barge and the wheelhouse and whether that collapses for low bridges, but in general a lot of them can travel the same waterways as wide-beams 😁
Lovely boat and a good tour. One thing that confused me was the way the cockpit roof can be lowered. I presume the windows (and doors) all have to be dealt with first. The front windows look to fold outwards onto the cabin roof, but the side windows look to fold inwards (judging by the hinges). This is where I'm confused because the 2 forward roof struts look as if they are blocking the nearest windows on either side, so I can't see how they fold down to allow the roof to be lowered. Did you happen to notice how this is done?
We think on a lot of these boats they actually unclip, fold out slightly and then slide off the hinges, but no we didn’t actually see it done. Not something you would want to do too often! 😊
@@WidebeamandWellingtons It is something I'm looking at to see whether a light weight version could be done for a narrow boat rather than having a pram cover. Its the idea of having a decent size squared off cruiser stern that makes a nice dining area even in cooler weather while moored. A room with a view rather than being sat lower down inside all the time. Obviously in nice weather it would be stowed away during the day and maybe even evenings, but in the middle of winter on a rotten, wet day you are forced to move keeping it up if there are not more than one or two bridges along the way would be advantageous. I'm playing around with a number of designs - hence watching closely whenever something similar comes up. Pram covers seem expensive and drafty given their relatively short life. Noisy too in the rain.
@@WidebeamandWellingtonsThat is interesting. I'm not sure I'd want a true barge design though as the ones I have been on (long) in the past did not have flat level floors - they curved. They were the original ones though, not converted into live aboards. As a live-aboard I think level floors would be easier to live with. I have even wondered whether it is time that boat designs modernised to the extent of a forward control as seen on the Broads cruisers. That would allow for an enclosed driving position in winter. I also think it is high time that windows were made big enough and to come low enough so that while sat on a sofa you can see birds on the water instead of only having a view of the sky.
Hi 👋🏻 it isn’t on their website from what we can see, so think it might have sold, but we’ll ask the broker and get back to you. They do still have Elsie which is a beautiful boat: www.boatshowrooms.com/boats-for-sale/london/delta-marine-replica-dutch-luxemotor-57/
Nice tour, but this barge has really NOTHING to do with a CLASSIC dutch barge, still a nice enough boat though. I certainly wouldn't refuse it if they offer it to me as a present 😉.
Such a cozy, warm interior. Plenty of light and room to move about, lovely woodwork, nicely fitted out galley.
She is a lovely boat 😁
That's the best sort of boat tour - two people who would love to own it, just having a good nose around!
Thank you 🙏 We love having a good nose around lol 😂
Wow I love it and thanks for the tour ❤️
Thank you 😊 She’s a big beauty isn’t she 😁
Thank you. Nice one.
You’re welcome and thank you 🙏 😁

Excellent Dutch Barge!

Hi Mike, thank you she is a lovely boat 😁 we would love a barge but it does restrict us further in terms of bridge heights so we’re 50/50 too lol 😂
I like the Bidet !
Cool aye! 😁
AWESOME..!
She is lovely ☺️
Thanks for the viewing ,lovely boat …just too big for some of the canals “Up North” 😢
Hi Ian thank you for watching, she is a beauty, yes she is a big girl, a bit too big for some of them 🥲
Thank you This barge would do nicely where I live South Haven Michigan. On z Lake Michigan 😊
Oh beautiful 😁 wonder if you could get her shipped over 🤔🤣😁

Hello 👋🏻 over in Canada 🇨🇦 such a beautiful country 😁 thank you for watching 😁🙏
Porthole bungs? Is that a new name for dead lights?
Think dead lights are metal or wooden coverings to stop the window smashing normally at sea. These are soft fabric bungs 😁
Stunning boat. Did u buy it ? Lol😊
Lol 😂 very nearly 😂
Dutch barge style
Yep 👍🏻

We have seen narrow barges on the river before not sure who makes them though 🤔

@@WidebeamandWellingtons bargain!! Thanks for the info. Much appreciated x
Where in God's creation could that be used here in the USA, the great lakes get too rough, I can only imagine Lake Mead in Nevada !
Lol 😂 possibly not, I think they were created more for the canals in Europe 😁
I occasionally video Realestate videos .I think you have just found yourself a new income stream. Making boat sales videos.
