Sorry latte in watching did not realise video was up. Very interesting and informative, it is amazing what you can find in the ground, look forward to the next video
This was so interesting … I learned a lot. While I’ve heard others mention many of the pottery types, you gave me a better understanding of time periods. Thanks, and have a lovely week !! 🌼🥰
Thanks Karyn! We covered as much as we could! There’s so many different types of pottery 😂 Glad we could help clarify some of the eras for you! Hope you do as well! 🥰
Thank you so much for all of that info! I probably won’t get a chance to use it too soon. Here in California, I’ve found a lot of obsidian arrowheads, and an acorn pounder. But we just haven’t had all of the civilizations pass through like you. Hopefully, someday I will make it to England or Ireland, or Scotland, and be able to wander a field using my eyes only. Have a good week!
No worries Mary! Glad you found it informative! I hope you get to put your eyes to test over this side of the world one day soon! Obsidian arrowheads sound an incredible find!! Maybe one day we’ll get to hunt for arrowheads in the states! ❤️
Thanks Linda! We had hectic week with Detectival last week so we’re back on with our regular uploads! Every time we’re out in fields we get to learn new things too! ☺️❤️
Thanks ladies! I’m a big fan of field walking with my dog. I’ve found horseshoes, a huge iron key, spanner, plenty of devils toenails, other fossils and Victorian pottery. I’m out most days with my nose to the ground!
Great surface finds, and coin finds! I do like a bit of sherds that are much more older what century you figure? Very nice day walking the fields. Have a wonderful weekend soon coming ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Right ON,ladies! I just aquired a metal detector, and so far,I am terrified to use it,because it’s got a lot going on,and I live In America, where the history is much younger,so I anticipate mostly junk. It would be downright Wierd if I made a Roman find😂
Hey Charles! Exciting about your new detector! Which one did you get? They can take awhile to learn that’s for sure, but the best way is to dig every signal and you’ll soon learn what they are! 💪 Haha now that would be something 😂
There is a clay pit near conningsby where they found a baby woolly mammoth we was creating resivwar in conningsby where we had 2 thousand tons of clay full of fossils I still have a box full here at home
Hello, if you haven’t already can you make a video telling us how to tell if we have found a flint tool or a rock and a pottery guide since I never know what I find 😅
Why are you showing video of someone with a metal detector? You cannot metal detect in the UK unless you have permission of the landowner. Why the focus on something as visually dull and inconsequential as pottery shards? Why not Victorian Frozen Charlotte dolls, clay marbles and Jacks game pieces? Why not talk about the optimum weather conditions to try and spot something on the surface of a field? (I know the answer to this but it should be obvious to you who are professing to be experts). Why not even talk about how to get permission to walk across fields or the consequences of trespassing on land?
Because we’re a Metal Detecting channel that happens to do a bit of field walking while we detect. Happy hunting, make sure you have permission please! 😉

Loved the info on the pottery... I watched videos from Richard Hemery, and learned a lot, but still get it all confused. 😆💜

What came first, your knowledge of history, or your research from researching artifacts?
