Hey Everyone!! --- First: I decided to make a full-out Akihabara Playlist! bit.ly/AkibaPlaylist Second, we have linked most of what Alexander bought (the big stuff anyway) in the description!! Enjoy!
Tokyo Lens for a minute I thought you forgot to give the name of some of the links then after clicking on it I realized... Duh it is a link to a figure of Link. 🤣🤣🤣
This was a cute video! Alexander’s face was priceless when he said he got the Star Wars chop sticks!!🤗🤗💕. Kinda curious... did you guys find anything on amazon though? Thanks for sharing such a fun video !
I'm visiting Tokyo in November and am definitely going to be getting a lot of stuff while I'm there! My hotel is a 5 minute walk from Akihabara so I'll be doing a lot of shopping. I'm so excited! I hope I find just as much great stuff as Alexander!
I completely commiserate with your brother! My wife and I spent all afternoon going through shops in Akihabara to the point that our 10 year old son couldn't keep up. 😂
Mo 2Wheelz money conversion between US dollars to Japanese yen is 1 USD is equivalent to roughly 100 yen (as of July 20 1 USD is 107.30 yen) but don’t get confused Japanese yen go by hundreds so like a drink could be 150-200 yen ($1.50 $2.00 USD)
Shop around is a really good idea, especially if you're looking for figures in Akiba. There are a TON of places with figures and there can be a huge variation in price from one shop to another, even if they're right next door to eachother. Unless it's really something exclusive that you don't want to risk being gone by the time you get back just note the price and come back later. And, yes, you can find most things online but shipping from Japan to outside of the country can be a real killer to so it's not always fair to look at a direct list price comparison.
My kind of fan. He spends money to support the industry. When I go to Akihabara, I go to the black Mandarake building off the main drag. Multiple floors of nerdy fun. I get my retro toys and Godzilla merch from several shops in Nakano Broadway. The Hen shop is not to be missed.
Watching you and your brother have such a great time is getting me totally hyped for my trip to Japan at the end of September. Keep up the great videos and thanks for sharing.
Thats a great haul. I'm impressed by your brother's ability to zero in on the characters he likes as well as how quickly he said they were all for him. I know a lot of people have trouble saving money when start wading through Akihabara, it's just got so much to do and so much history.
This seems like a very fun hobby! My bedroom looks very dull at this moment so I might also get something like little figurines to decorate it. I bet Alexander is very happy that you live in Tokyo! I wish I had a friend to bring me some games from Japan, but yeah I also bought Monster Hunter World yesterday so I can't complain. Alexander is an awesome friend!
Looks like Your Brother is having a lot of Fun with his shopping, awesome Haul he made too, the thing that I love the most out of these Videos of You and Your Brother is the awesome Quality time you are spending together, Family is important, and looks like you are both enjoying your time spent together.
My sister and I had to buy a new luggage because we purchased way too much stuff in Japan and Korea xD no regrets! My parents weren't amused by the amount and size of the plushies I brought though :p
I love hauls, I love Akihabara and I love this channel, so what’s better than an Akihabara haul on this channel?? xD I was surprised how much stuff Alexander bought! And you‘re so right, better compare shops first, because the difference in prices can be so huge!
As a veteran hardcore Akiba shopper, I gotta give props to Alexander for knowing where to shop as I recognized all the places shown on the video. I plan on hitting a lot of these stores next month when I visit Tokyo again as I had to give away or sell a lot of my figures when I moved to Hawaii last year. Time to restock! I'm also going to have to ding Norm on his "online shopping festish" as it totally misses the fun and excitement of exploring Akiba. Shame on you dude! LOL
Totally with you. Going and looking at the figures in "person" is part of the enjoyment. I like to admire the details they are able to put into the figures. I can't do that by looking at pictures on an online catalog.
Great video Norm. I loved the changing of the scenes from what Alexander had bought to the shops that he visited. It leaves me to wonder what other things he will buy? Lool! You seemed quite surprised Norm.
I love watching people nerd out over what they enjoy 😊 I love anime as well, though I don't like decorative only things (that's the minimalist in me), I like to buy more everyday usable items that show off my anime interests like clothing, chopsticks, mugs, etc.
Akihabara! Captain's brother is an otaku....awesome. I'm one too. Ps:- (Surprised) Captain...the logo of your shirt is......!!! You really are a faithful Avengers......awesome..
I'm glad Alexander finally got to make the rounds! So many places in Japan prohibit filming. On one hand there are so many places and experiences I would love to share with people. On the other hand there is a whole side to Japan people get to discover on their own. It makes visiting Japan that much more exciting hen you arrive. I think we might have been in Akihabara on the same day, I even made it to that same flea market. Your brother Alexander is super awesome and I'm glad I had the chance to meet him and talk games and hobbies with him.
Hey Nosh! Thanks again~ So glad he got to go there as well! Our last Akihabara trip got delightfully busy lol. I can guarantee you that he (and I ) enjoyed meeting you as well! A true highlight!
Go Alexander! Lol the whole time I was watching this I was thinking "well he does have that whole suitcase that was full of snacks he could fill up!" 😂
Yayyyyy some Akiba shopping 😁 Good for you Alexander! Seems like you guys had fun! ❤️ I love the way you edited this video with jumps back & forth between the shopping & the unpacking. Very dynamic!
We had so much fun! 😊 This is only something I get out to do once every few years at anime conventions mainly, so I like to get as much as I can when I’m on a big hunt for stuff. 😀
I've been to Akihabara a few times but come to think of it, I don't think I've properly seen it. Alexander's joy is infectious with all the stuff he got!
My plan when I visit Japan next year is to pack a suitcase inside of another suitcase for all the things I'm going to buy at Akihabara. I just loved how you reacted to all of the stuff he bought, haha. It was priceless.
Your brother is amazing and has an awesome taste! Super Potato is great but way to expensive! You were at Friends, if I saw it right, and at Surugaya, great shops. Brings back a lot of good memories, thank you Noram and Alexander :o)
Omg! I'm so jealous right now! I will need to bring some money when I go to Akihabara. Alexander, just go for it! I spent around 165$ at the Pokemon store (and it was the small store near of Tokyo station). Norm, like always, really good video ;)
I lovvve akihabara 😍 some places were $$ but toyko is where i went broke from buying everything.. literally 😂😂 cant wait to go back to japan in november!! Also everyone should go on the weekend!! Because they close the road and you can walk everywhere :)
shopping spree! Awesome fun. Sometimes, it's just nice to be able to go, ooh, i'll have that, that that that and ooooh, can NOT leave without this too! In each shop you enter.
I was a little tipsy, so at the beginning of the video when you said Alexander was visiting 11 shops; I heard he had 11 JOBS!!! My drunk ass was mad confused and anxious 😂😂😂. Also Dragonball all the way!!!
Yay! Can’t wait to see the superpotato video! That place is something else! Looks like you guys fun! I need to hit up the Pokémon centre. And hey from Tokyo! 😂
Tokyo Lens better than I ever expected!! I’ve managed to experience everything I wanted and things I never knew I wanted! Going home will probably break my heart!
I have been your brother. Both times I went to Japan I ended up buying an extra suitcase in Tokyo just to get all the nerdy shit I bought home, lol. No regrets!
Nice video as always ... when I'm in Tokyo I tend to be there a while so don't tend to do a massive shopping spree but instead just pop in and get a few things on the way back to the hotel each day after doing other things, (unless I'm going to a Kamen Joshi concert in Akihabara!). Personally I'm normally more likely to be looking for BDs/DVDs/CDs so whilst Akihabara can be quite good its always good to look in every Book Off I come across (its bad that there are at least two in the Shinjuku area where I normally stay). In fact didn't you go to a Hard Off (?) with Sherry in one video ... maybe you should take Alexander to one of those as it seemed to have good deals on game stuff and Anime figurines. Going to Tokyo every couple of years its always interesting how the shops in Akiba change each time ... one year this set of shops will be good for that, but the next time they may either not be there any more of not be very good and others be better. Planning which shops to go to always happens for months in advance :) For Yahoo JP Auctions .... yes you can get stuff a lot cheaper (even than Ebay as I know some Ebay sellers who buy stuff on there and then mark it up for sale on Ebay instead). Personally I use, and like, (no connection) FromJapan who are a reshipping company which allows for international purchases from laces which don't allow international payments or shipping. There are other options which just give you an address in Japan, but FromJapan allows you to browse and bid on Yahoo Auctions in English (note descriptions may be translated by Google Translate so know what you are looking for and at and as its an auction site normal rules about being careful and buyer beware apply). The shipping and handling fees can be quite expensive though so I try not to use it overly often. You can get good deals though on Yahoo jp Auctions like a £180 BD boxset for
I would add I may already have a shopping list for my next trip which not only list things prices as new but also the price they go for on places like Amazon JP and Yahoo Auctions JP so I can compare prices quickly when I'm shopping in person.
Don’t worry Alexander , I would be just like you and buy a bunch of stuff from Akihabara ! I’m not sure if you did but next time you should check out more second hand stores , you can find unopened things for cheaper than you would get from a normal store
Glad you do! 😁 It’s one of my favorites that I got off of redbubble, along with a few others. 😀 It’s actually from my favorite JRPG, Tales of Symphonia. 😊
@@Alex1986Dec ah, I thought it might be RPG- related...it has the flavour of things like Order of the Stick or Knights of the Dinner Table. KODT might be before your time but maybe you can Google it. It's a comic strip about tabletop RPGs like D&D and it was a riot.
Wooohooo! =j great job for a "first day". That amazement of your face! That sort of reaction is what makes me come back to watch your videos. Also why i don't watch youtube videos in public =j because you're like a crazy person to suddenly laugh out loud from being completely quiet a second ago, then you look around and people would stare at you hehehe if only one could share with the experience... Whenever i get to travel, i don't really research that much because i feel down if i won't get to go/shop to a certain spot for whatever reason. Oh yeah sometimes i browse what other people are commenting... and it seems that you need to say that alexander is your brother since not everyone would have viewed every video. As far as we can see your brother has at least a whole luggage to put stuff in, based on what he brought you. Oh might be a good idea to get one of those cheap luggage scales if you don't have one yet. Also i've just noticed that you can put "hashtags"(in the description) now and it appears just above the title of the youtube video... ...remember he has a whole month to shop and bond! =j
lol... Your brother is awesome! I got three figures all at Nakano, and all under 6,500¥ in total. The first one was.found by accident on my second trip there when I bought nothing on the first trip. Then I fornd two more... I was hooked, and all used, but lovely. Norm your reaction after the Nakano bag... I had to pause for a giggle, and coughing break... lol
This is like a dream trip, man... But its a bit sad for me that I'm into niche/never-mentioned-to-much girly anime and most likely have to be a scavenger hunt if I were in Akihabara! Sweet video though! :)
I was going for a few lesser known, but still somewhat popular things, as well. Unfortunately, I only found about 7 or 8 figures in that area (They’re from my favorite RPG series, the Tales Series), and got only one, because I had most of the others in my collection already.
You let Alexander loose in Akihabara? What were you thinking! :) I can't believe the amount of stuff he acquired WITHOUT visiting Super Potato. Is he planning on leasing a cargo plane to get it all back home? Seriously, I'm really pleased to see how much fun he's having. You are truly a great brother. Almost makes up for the time you tried to drown him at Woods Lake (oh wait, that was ME sinking like a stone thanks to my older brother!). I hope you do a video just about Super Potato. I'm really enjoying your videos about his visit. Keep on having fun!
Aha it was only a couple weeks ago we were talking about how you walk like ninja to stables your footage and now a couple gives you a gimbal 😱😱😱 so jealous wish I could have one but to expensive for me😭😭😭 But anyway this video looked so professional. Loving those editing skills Norm as its hard core 💪😆 which I found out the other day😅
Tokyo Lens oh really thanks for checking it out Norm i really appreciate it 😊👍 by any chance did you sub😜😂 I have been trying to edit for the last 2 weeks but I found a job and its took all my time at the moment (no days off😢) but hopefully changes next week but been trying to edit when i get back. But when it's out I think your going to like the into.... Hopefully it took ages in editing 😅😂
Your brother is great! He's a real shopper. How much fun! Hmm... Did he bring another suitcase to bring his haul back home? I love his definite response to, "Is this all for you?" No apologies; just the facts! Thanks for posting this Akihabara spree!
Maybe its just me but the way you just turn the bags upside down to get all the stuff off the bag makes my heart ache XD; I wldnt stay as chill as Alexander😅😅 Also, he waited 10yrs?!!! Wow!!!
YESSSSS!!! THANK YOUUUUU!!! This video is making me SOOOO happy, haha :D I am on episode 80 something for One Piece... I have a long way to go! I watched Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, and the new Dragon Ball movie that just came out last year. Christopher Aryes is a pretty awesome dude so my husband and I plan to go to the theater & watch the upcoming Dragon Ball Z movie too. I would take them out too!

What a haul! Akihabara is one of the places I want to see the most in Tokyo and, oddly, still haven’t seen despite visiting twice this year. 😩 Hoping we get the chance to visit Akihabara and do some shopping next time. I need to see Super Potato!!
Sometimes when I can’t buy something on AmiAmi’s website I try Samurai Buyer which is a third party that lets me get stuff off Amazon JP or Yahoo JP ! I feel like whenever I get to Japan, my haul of figures and charms will be the size of your brother’s lol though I never really thought of what stores to visit so it’ll be a wild day of shopping and exploring whenever that day comes!
PS2 is really underrated now, I've had mine for about 10 years and its still working and I sometimes play RE 4 and GT 4 I dont know how you can sell something like that for 5 dollars
Wow, your brother is coolio, i found the shopping so overwhelming, didnt know which way to turn, and the pinko( i think) machines and noise, amazing place.
First time I visited Tokyo I spent the ENTIRETY of my third day in Akihabara (which coincidentally was my birthday). A grand total of TEN HOURS in Akihabara! I bought....nothing!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I think Alexander is my spirit animal. Most of our time in Akihabara was spent in Super Potato so I could play all the old video games upstairs and throughout the store displays. We went to Nakano Broadway twice! It was Mountain Day the first time we went, so many of the shops were closing early and there are waaaaay too many awesome stores not to spend as much time as possible in there. So many goodies were purchased that we made a final stop to Don Quijote next to Nakano Broadway for a suitcase to bring it all home.
Hey Everyone!! --- First: I decided to make a full-out Akihabara Playlist! bit.ly/AkibaPlaylist
Second, we have linked most of what Alexander bought (the big stuff anyway) in the description!!
Enjoy!
Tokyo Lens for a minute I thought you forgot to give the name of some of the links then after clicking on it I realized... Duh it is a link to a figure of Link. 🤣🤣🤣
Really like the Link figures!
This was a cute video! Alexander’s face was priceless when he said he got the Star Wars chop sticks!!🤗🤗💕. Kinda curious... did you guys find anything on amazon though? Thanks for sharing such a fun video !
Hey man I need some advice I am going to Japan in about 2 to 3 years time and was wondering what are some nice places to visit whilst i'm up there
So what was the conclusion? Did he spend more there ?? Would it have been cheaper online ?
Alexander is my spirit animal.
rofl
Lol, that’s the first time anyone has ever said I am their spirit animal. 🤣 But thanks, I am happy to hear that you think that. 😀
LMFAOOOOO
Same
I'm visiting Tokyo in November and am definitely going to be getting a lot of stuff while I'm there! My hotel is a 5 minute walk from Akihabara so I'll be doing a lot of shopping. I'm so excited! I hope I find just as much great stuff as Alexander!

That made me laugh out loud
Quite literally
On a train
People are staring lol
Lmao 😂😂😂
It’s special cause he bought it in japan and in person !
I really enjoy Alexander in this he was so happy to go Anime shopping
me too!
Tokyo Lens how do you tell the difference between yen and US dollars
Mo 2Wheelz money conversion between US dollars to Japanese yen is 1 USD is equivalent to roughly 100 yen (as of July 20 1 USD is 107.30 yen) but don’t get confused Japanese yen go by hundreds so like a drink could be 150-200 yen ($1.50 $2.00 USD)
looking forward to seeing the Alexander haul pt 2...is there a pt 3 ??? I love sequels
Can’t wait for the sequel!
If there is a part 3, I don't know where he is going to fit all of it for his return trip >_
I have two suitcases, so I will definitely manage. 🙂
@@Alex1986Dec That's my plan next year. Glad to see someone proved my theory.
Caught a glimpse of an AKB48 ad in the Don Quixote part.... IT MADE ME SUPER HAPPY! Woo!!!

That's pretty much what I did when I was last at Akihabara....go crazy shopping for like EVERYTHING. I had to buy a second suitcase......
If you don’t buy an extra suitcase, you’re probably doing it wrong lol
What?!? No Evangelion stuff?!? You have to go back there
/Akihabara on a Sunday... good stuff
//And a trip to Donki too

I dig this guys choice of shopping, I can't wait to visit Akihabara
As a figure collector my favorite places to shop are Yahoo Auction, Suruga-ya, and netmall (online hardoff).

This was super fun to watch, honestly. He was so excited and found some really awesome things. As a side note; Norm your marvel shirt is awesome
Liked how you smoothly transitioned from the bag to the entrance of the place it was gotten from. Nicely edited together!!
thanks~
I liked this set up of flicking between the shop and what was bought. Much better than a straight up hall
This video makes me really happy. Go for it Alexander!

one of my wish is to go to akihabara if ever i can go to japan
I love Alexander's shirt in this one!
I shall check it out when I get a chance! 😀
I rally enjoyed this comment mate
100% made my day
Thank you~
100% reserving a day during my trip to Japan to visit as many anime stores as I can
I had to pause for a giggle, and coughing break... lol
lol had to cut like 90% of my reactions in this hahahaha it just got too long!
I regret not visiting the Pokemon Center when I visited haha. Glad you are having fun Alexander!
Love love love this haul. I wish we had seen all of the Pokemon center stuff!!! 💕
The best intro ever 🤣 I really understand him, I want a Hatsune Miku figurine for myself when I will get there 😂
Alexander knows what he likes and knows how to shop!
always worry how im gonna bring everything back to canada whenever i visit akihabara
Lol we’re contacting pilots today
Figure we might just need a whole plane lol
What.. that's a lot of stuff, but it must feel really good after waiting for 10 years!
It really does feel good! 😊
Surugaya is awesome. Older figures for a lot cheaper than most places and the cashier was super friendly!
AAaaaaww he bought a Sailor Mercury figurine! That is sooo cute 🥰 (I liked Sailor Jupiter best, cus she cool, smart and knew how to bake cookies)
Love seeing 2 dudes doing a hall video for once. 🖤
I really enjoyed this video and the title is really exciting lol
Aha it was only a couple weeks ago we were talking about how you walk like ninja to stables your footage and now a couple gives you a gimbal 😱😱😱 so jealous wish I could have one but to expensive for me😭😭😭
But anyway this video looked so professional. Loving those editing skills Norm as its hard core 💪😆 which I found out the other day😅
Thanks so much mate!
By the way
Love your channel
KEEP GOING!
that’s EXACTLY how I started!
My original videos are quite similar!
Tokyo Lens oh really thanks for checking it out Norm i really appreciate it 😊👍 by any chance did you sub😜😂
I have been trying to edit for the last 2 weeks but I found a job and its took all my time at the moment (no days off😢) but hopefully changes next week but been trying to edit when i get back.
But when it's out I think your going to like the into.... Hopefully it took ages in editing 😅😂
Just a nice day to do some shopping got to love it
Your brother is great! He's a real shopper. How much fun! Hmm... Did he bring another suitcase to bring his haul back home? I love his definite response to, "Is this all for you?" No apologies; just the facts! Thanks for posting this Akihabara spree!
Your brother is an absolute legend, he must have spent a fortune! I hope he manages to get it all home okay.
Cant wait to find out How many additional suitcases will Alexander need to get everything home?
None!
I’m sure the suitcase from his arrival video will do well!
Maybe its just me but the way you just turn the bags upside down to get all the stuff off the bag makes my heart ache XD; I wldnt stay as chill as Alexander😅😅
Also, he waited 10yrs?!!! Wow!!!

What a haul! Akihabara is one of the places I want to see the most in Tokyo and, oddly, still haven’t seen despite visiting twice this year. 😩 Hoping we get the chance to visit Akihabara and do some shopping next time. I need to see Super Potato!!
yea I was hoping we would hit super potato that day, but it seems we still have to wait lol
I love sunday Akihabara....the whole main road is close for walk :P
me too~
What a fun day!! I can’t wait to explore akihabara one day even if I don’t buy that much lol
Very nice! SHOPPING!!! 💖
aw cool, glad he did some proper shopping!
Sometimes when I can’t buy something on AmiAmi’s website I try Samurai Buyer which is a third party that lets me get stuff off Amazon JP or Yahoo JP !
I feel like whenever I get to Japan, my haul of figures and charms will be the size of your brother’s lol though I never really thought of what stores to visit so it’ll be a wild day of shopping and exploring whenever that day comes!
awesome, say hi to ALEXANDER and tell him, it`s time to start a business with those figures XD
Your brother is awesome, me and the kids came back from Tokyo with a similar haul!
Where does Alexander store all those items ? Japan apts small
He lives in Canada!
Holy cats!!! Hope he brought an extra to get it all home!!
he did lol!
Tokyo Lens atta boy!!😁
PS2 is really underrated now, I've had mine for about 10 years and its still working and I sometimes play RE 4 and GT 4 I dont know how you can sell something like that for 5 dollars
Wow, your brother is coolio, i found the shopping so overwhelming, didnt know which way to turn, and the pinko( i think) machines and noise, amazing place.
wow, you bought many figures! It's a huge paradise for anime fan:)
So many goodies were purchased that we made a final stop to Don Quijote next to Nakano Broadway for a suitcase to bring it all home.
this comment for the win lol
Awesome video. This is my Otaku dream
lol, this is so nerdy. But I love your Marvel shirt!!!
Great video! And nice haul Alex!
Bridgette! Hoping you see this!
