This is an Indian Rajasthani folk song, and yes, Feleminco (both dance and music ) in Spain has its roots in this genre of Rajasthani folk culture. It went in Spain through Romani people and now Feleminco has become a symbol of Spanish culture.

Sitting cross legs on the floor/ground brings in humility in your very own self, ego is gone and we appreciate every tiny bit around us as we're more connected to the ground and that's what having a grounded nature means, just try it once you'll feel what I'm trying to convey, we Indians even have our food like this it's healthy for both the mind and body.

🇮🇳 Indian Classical singing is always done sitting down cross legged, unlike Western music! When you sit down to that position it’s more connected. In Yoga 🧘🏻‍♂️ it is the same as meditation where the “7 CHKARAS” of the physical body is connected to the spiritual self, because more than anything music comes from the heart ❤️ and soul! ….. Namastey 🙏🏽 and Love from India 🇮🇳.

It's definitely a regional/folklore inspired composition, which is why there are people using their mouths for the "precussion" aspect and why the main singer's voice resonates so much (imagine a typical setting for them at a fair or around a bonfire or even on a street paired with string-puppet dances)

P.S.- please don't take my word for it.

Right, it is fusion, Coke Studio India is home to mainstream musicians [ Bollywood ] jamming with folk musicians from various regions of India. This track Titled Chaudhary [ vaguely - chieftain, where the beloved asks her lover Chaudhry - not to test her patience anymore, but to meet her soon ] is a jam where Mame [ pronounced as Ma.Mey ] Khan and Bollywood musician Amit Trivedi [ Tracks - Lazy Lad, London Thumakda ] and the accompanying musicians seem to be having great fun. The Castanets-like sounding instrument is called KHAD.TAAL and the magical string instrument producing a wailing sound is called SAA.RAN.GEE, both the musical instruments are from a state called RAAJ.ASTHAAN, which is in the northwest of India. Meme Khan specializes in SUFI FOLK, other artists from Rajasthan in a similar genre are; Mangniyar Gazi Khan, Bundu Khan, Anwar Khan, Chugge Khan, Sultan Khan, Duve Khan, Swaroop Khan, Kutle Khan, Bijal Khan, should you wish to listen to this genre, dig them up on the U Tube. These people come from a tribe known as MAN.GANI.YAAR and were traditional traveling minerals in the past.

In India, every classical music performance is done by the artists in sitting down posture. It is very common in India to sit and sing. It comes naturally. It's the tradition and India is the birth place of music 🎶

If you were impressed by the string instruments “sarangi” let me tell you that the fingering part is done by the cuticles of the left hand and not finger tips. I will give you 2 minutes to absorb that. Now you can go a research this wonderful instrument online.
