Why would my voltage regulator burn up. All the butt connector melted away. The black area melted on the regulator. I thought I had problems with the key switch cause he boat would not start with each turn of key then it just start working again and boat would start. That was before this all melted. New battery new. Battery connection. - I thought it was the connection cuz after messing with them the key switch would start the boat right up.

Did you jump it with another battery?
