Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Diamond Tiara was a newborn during these flashback scenes like Applebloom was because Spoiled Milk would 100% have child-locked Filthy Rich had it meant she could abuse his humble and responsible nature to force him to marry her.
Spoiled is a gold digger. She probably got him drunk or something, did it like they do on the discovery channel while he was more pliable, and then twisted the story somehow before the hangover faded. Then she discovered she was with child. Considering how submissive Filthy is to Spoiled, she probably has his fortune effectively held hostage by legal terms she was able to mete out as the holder of this 'unplanned' child. If he ever steps out of line, she'll file for divorce and take the Rich legacy to the bank on the way home. Something like that.

@@devonm042690 It was "implied" that Filthy was NOT supposed to be the next "heir" of the fortune made by his grandfather (the same one Granny described back in her backstory in Season 2), who was still alive (in the flashback of that epsiode) since she explicitly manipulated Filthy just by sugesting that she would go & talk to him directly.
The newborn Diamond Tiara was likely the "last" on his succession line [youngest]. He prefered to bypass ALL other ponies before her (those who had being waiting patiently for his death just to get his fortune), by setting a special legal fund that only DT would be able to use (once she becomes an adult); posibly explaining WHY her "Magical Fate" is about "bending the will of other ponies" [but through her future money/influence, not a supernatural skill like Fluttershy].
Spoiled Milk "acquired" control/custody over this "last descendant" at the right moment, since it would be imposible for him to survive long enough so her child could grow up to have her own.
She forced a situation were she "could" just decide one day to take her daughter "far away" from the Rich Family [unless she was "bound" by mare-trimony first].

You forget, there has not been a single flashback scene we have ever seen a baby Bloom. Not one. Bloom is a paradox. She had to be born 10yrs before Diamond was even conceived because her mother passed when AJ was a blank flank and yet she is the same age as DT.

I’ve tried numerous times to guesstimate what the character ages are in this show and every single time it’s almost given me a brain aneurysm

She’s definitely not a teenager. I think DWK said it best in his Equestria Girls videos when he pointed out that the main six all live away from their parents and (mostly) on there own. Plus, they are considered fully functioning members of society with their own careers. Twilight especially is one of the leading government officials of the entire kingdom, so I don’t think she would be a teenager if she was given that much power and responsibility. My best guess is that the mane six are all young adults (early to mid 20s in human years) at the start of the series, and then somewhere between five and ten years pass over the course of the show. As for the CMC, I’d say their probably around age ten or so when the show starts. The numbers aren’t perfect, and there’s no massive changes in terms of the characters age presented by the show (except the CMC getting their Cutiemarks which is typically seen as either starting puberty or finishing it), but there are a lot of details in the show both in terms of how the characters act and how much time passes in the world to support this idea. However, we may never know for certain how old the characters are. Maybe if we could figure out how long a damn “moon” is, then it would be easier.

Trying to figure out the timeline of this show is a nightmare and a half. When you consider the implications of Equestria Girls, it's up to at least three nightmares. As near as I can tell, the entire first seven seasons and the movie cover about TWO AND A HALF YEARS of in-universe time. It's a mess.

In the first Equestria Girls movie, the "portal" shutdowns when a star is eclipsed by the Moon (of CHS´s "Earth").
The portal does not "link dimensions", but rather is just a STARGATE between two planets that "share the same sky" on the Milky Way Galaxy.

@@adolfodef except they aren't... they don't both have the same magic, they have different characters, different main species, let's not forget how Celestia and Luna are both over 1000 years yet are just adults (not even elderly) in the EqG verse and all the other characters and their differences. They are different universes. Saying they're the same ignores the factors in each one of them. They are WAY TOO DIFFERENT to be the same universe. On top of that, they have too many similarities to be the same universe but simply a different planet. They litterally have alternates of the Mane cast and many other characters- which is a staple for alternate universes.
What you're saying still makes no sense when guess what? Planets DO RUN ON DIFFERENT TIMES! A planet like Mars rotates slower than Earth, MLP and EqG, even in YOUR EXPLINATION can and would likely still go by different times. We, in this universe, have witnessed Earth like planets with different rotation and day and night cycles.

Also putting quotes on portal shows you don't understand what a portal even is. A portal is a gateway... so even if it's used for another planet in the same universe- according to you- IT IS STILL A PORTAL. A "Stargate" is a type of portal...
There is also a difference between alternate universes and alternate dimensions...

Cant get over somepony naming their child Filthy Rich... I mean ok... He did become rich and his cutie mark *does match* his name. But Spoiled Milk? You must just hate your child to name her that. Ether that, or its her destiny to be a rich pony's trophy wife... Not exactly the kind of thought you want to have when you consider the shows target demographic. But hey, at least Diamond Tiara is a name without an instant negative implication.
I don’t delve into head canons much, but part of me thinks that Spoiled Rich’s nastiness is due to a belief that her special talent is being a trophy wife. If only there was a group of three young friends who specialised in helping ponies figure out the true meaning of their cutie marks…

This! I was born a year before my parents got married. So yeah, it is most likely that Diamond Tiara was just born out of wedlock, before the wedding.
I don't think anyone is arguing that - but from a social standpoint, for ponies within a higher social class, it would be seen as one of the worst possible things. This happens in real life, as well.

Even ignoring the inconsistency of models, Applebloom had to have been born by Where the Apple Lies, and I argue this with the fact Granny Smith is the one running the farm, and the conflict is Applejack and Big Mac arguing over which one of them she should pick to take over, which would make absolutely no sense unless their parents were already... gone.
I always thought its bc they decided to keep apple bloom in her crib for the entirety of those episodes to avoid any questions

I really like the "older filly" or "teenager" design that Applejack had in Where the Apple Lies. I wish the CMC had gotten an upgrade to that character model once they got their cutie marks. It would have been nice to see some characters actually AGE during the show's lifespan. It's weird that after 9 seasons, the CMC still looked like fillies.
It's a fun theory to say the least. As for the potential of her being adopted, I could actually see it happening only because of Spoiled Milk's vanity and not wanting to ruin whatever figure she has (kind of weird to talk about that for a cartoon horse but okay...), however I think it's more likely that Diamond Tiara is her biological child because of the colors they've chosen to design these characters. While already pretty uninvolved with Diamond Tiara's life, if the two weren't actually related, I could see it staining the whole family and Filthy Rich would have left with Diamond Tiara long ago. This family is only staying together because of Spoiled Rich's money and perhaps his infatuation with Spoiled Milk, unless you also have Diamond Tiara as their biological child, now they feel like they've got to be that family unit and keep their public image in the green. There are still a few other ways to have a child, but this is My Little Pony, why are we thinking about this so much? At it's simplest, Diamond Tiara is illegitimate, and at most complex, she's adopted (which sounds odd, but makes sense).

A fourth option: Diamond Tiara was able to get in to the derby thanks to a generous 'donation' to the school that allowed the guidelines to be loosened a little.
They did mention Applebloom was a late bloomer too, so it’s possible she is older than DT.

I think it makes more sense for her to be adopted. She doesn't look anything like either of her parents.
Can I just say that the upside-down Starlight fits you to a tee. Also, the theory is pretty solid. There is one thing that I think could disrupt it though. It’s possible that Filthy Rich and Spoiled Milk decided to have Diamond Tiara after they had initially decided to get married, but they didn’t want to wait until after the wedding to get busy. This would mean that they would’ve had Diamond WHILE they were still only fiancées, and it’s impossible to know how long they two were engaged to each other before they actually got married. Seeing as how picky and difficult Spoiled is, I don’t doubt that it may have taken the two well over a year or two to plan the wedding just because the bride couldn’t be satisfied with anything unless it was perfect. Plus, it’s not like “Where the Apple Lies” made any kind of mention of an upcoming wedding between the two, despite the fact that they were introduced as fiancées. Of course it would be a bit wired if they had been planning to get married for a long time and the Apple siblings were only just now hearing about it, but maybe the two just hadn’t had too many interactions with Filthy outside of business and this was just the first time they had met Spoiled (or maybe Filthy told Granny about Spoiled since she was in charge of the farm and she just never told Applejack or Big Mac). Now even if I’m correct, this would still mean that Diamond Tiara would’ve been born outside of wedlock, but I think it’s a bit better than being a complete and total bastard. Still, I have no real solid evidence to base my hypothesis on, so I concede that Stunthead’s theory has more support and better weight to it than my own. Congratulations my fellow pony connoisseur, you just gave the fandom a brand new head cannon!

I wouldn’t claim to know the particulars of their wedding, and despite what I jokingly implied in the video, I never got the impression that Filthy Rich doesn’t love Spoiled. But that’s why I like this theory; it doesn’t hinge on any assumptions, it’s just logical reasoning based on what we already know to be true
Indeed, I never really take theories like these too seriously. It’s just really fun to look for details and connections. I don’t know why, but there’s something extremely satisfying and hilarious about overthinking something simple. Thanks for the great video!
@@stunthead My headcanon is that Filthy & Spoiled never "loved" each other in a profound, deeply romantical way (but of course they still do "liked liked" each other´s bodies very much, obviously).
The idea of getting married was a convenient "solution" for both of them once an unexpected oportunity presented itself: Spoiled got pregnant by Filthy, who then told it to his grandfather (who then decided to give his fortune to his great granddaughter).
-> By marrying the mother of the future owner of his family bussiness, Filthy became the current "regent" of his grandfather´s "kingdom"; while everypony waits for the "Princess" to become "Queen".

I'd never thought of this omg. My first thought when presented this was that it was possible that the younger diamond tiara could've used connections and bribery to get into the derby early. This theory is really nice though and I'll probably be stuck thinking about it for a while

Pony Ages and Pony Genetics go hand in hand when being incoherent. Characters that have nothing to do with one another look related, while those that are related don’t. (For example, that Acorn couple in the Best Gift Ever look more related to each other, Cheese Sandwich and Grandpear then they do to their son, and than what Grandpear is to Pear Butter).
The only exception to seems to be Trixie and the magician from Grannies Gone Wild, who’s said to be her father. But, then there’s also the mare who’s meant to apparently be her mother, and she’s just an orange version of Trixie.
It’s always weird to hear her voice actress’s voice, cause when I grew up in the early 2000s she was also the voice of Kelly in the Barbie movies. Lol and that one random bratty ghost in the Inuyasha dub.

I thought she was one at first too. Her family acts like nobility, and they're rich. The unicorn race are the rich and nobility, and act similar. Plus, tiara looks like a hitn when you dont look well at first glance.

Ponies can take after one parent's species. Look at Scootaloo. Her mom is a pegasus, dad is a earth pony. Scootalo is a pegasus, but can't fly. That's because while pegasi bones are light, like a bird's, earth ponies have dense, normal bones for walking and widstandind the hard labor the farmers do. So its still possible, that DT is her daughter, but she took after her dad species wise, and mom colo r wise.

I think it was a callback to The Call of the Cutie, where a past photo of Cheerilee has her dressed like that and she comments that “back then everypony wore their manes like that.” Where the Apple Lies confirms that, in actuality, it was just her who was dressed like that.
I thought Diamond Tiara's biological mother died in childbirth and Milk was her stepmother.

I feel like the issue here, is whether or not the characters age in human years, or in horse years. It also depends on when Rich and Spoiled met and when they got engaged. And by human standards, it's not impossible to get married and have a kid in just one year

So Pear Butter passed when AJ was a blank flank, we saw AJ leave the farm with only Granny and Brother to see her off but she had a pic of parents in her sack. But in this shot where she meets Spoiled she's a teenager and Diamond has yet to be conceived (we assume). SO, the only way Bloom could be born of the same mother is if she was 10yrs older than DT.

Who the hell was the baby daddy? Or is he related to cadence since she calls her her niece I think? Or maybe he’s adopted idk? Can you look into this please?
I was sort of suspicious of who DiamondTiara's real dad was, because she doesn't look like FilthyRich or SpoiledRich at all, so maybe she has a different dad. But I could be completely wrong-

if you mean the flashback from Games Ponies Play (which was season 3!), fans at the time assumed the guy was rainbow dash's dad. but now that we've met her dad, it's reasonable to assume that he is just a different relative of rainbow dash's like an uncle or something.
