- Why must you all keep criticizing this video? I have not said that it was Duane doing this picking. Like I said to one individual, "I could have put a picture of Jesus or Elvis with this tune, but it does not mean that they played it". It is the internet people... get over it!!
I sang amazing grace to my dad as he passed away. He found Christ just before he died. I hope Duane is playing this in Heaven for him
My father was in a coma for 3 days before he died. I happened to be there at the senior home that day (April 2000). Somehow I knew he was going, so I just said a prayer to Jesus to take him. Seconds later he quit breathing. I felt a kind of warmth go through me. I think this was my Dad's spirit telling me it's ok son. Anyway that was almost 22 years ago. When I read comments like yours I know you felt the same thing I did. Thanks.
🕯
Let's be Greatfull ! For He is Worthy. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ! 🤠🇺🇸🐴🙏
My dad suffered from the long goodbye; Alzheimer’s. Before he got really bad, I sat down with him and witnessed to him about salvation through Jesus. He accepted! He has since passed but I WILL see him again!! Praise God during this Easter season✝️🙏🏻
God is with us son
Holy wow...........one man, pulling all the soul out of an acoustic and slide that anyone can....................Mr. Duane Allman........never forget him..........
Wasn't Duane. It's Johhny Bellar, one of best slide guitarists ever.

I have heard so many versions of this beautiful song in my 82 yrs, but none better than this. I teared as I listened and thought about my late wife, deceased! 🙏👍🌹🌷🥀🌻💝🤔🥰
I bet she was wonderful. True love is amazing. Stay strong my brother.
@@jeffsnider7842 You are an asset to the music world Sir. I play the guitar, so I can appreciate the skill that you possess. And yes , my wife and I was like one. We did everything together, an I loved her more than myself, She is still with me in sweet, warm, memories! Thanks again my friend, God Bless you always!
Amen brother. Me too. We never get over loss but we learn to live with it. It is another scar. And a deep one.
God Bless.
I have always loved Duane Allman's beautiful music. Today is the 1st time I've heard him do 'Amazing Grace'. I've cried all the way thru it. This will bring you to your knees. It will be the last song played at my funeral, before they put me in the ground. The most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard.
And now I read the comments & find out it isn't even Duane. Oh well. It's still beautiful & I still want it played at my funeral. And it still makes me cry. Oh Lord have mercy.
Not Duane?Who then?Strange brew!
It’s Johnny Bellar
Right on, I’am like you. I heard Duane’s version and must say wow! Real good stuff
If you've ever really listened to this song and let God speak to your heart, then you know that his Amazing Grace and love for us as once sinners had no hope without it. Thank God for sending it to us through his son Jesus and the shedding of his blood for our attonment for our sin sick souls. Thank you Lord.
He's been gone a long time, but his interpretation of this timeless classic still remains unsurpassed.
It isn't Duane.
It’s Johnny Bellar
The most beautiful version of this song that I’ve ever heard. RIP Duane and thank you 🌈🙏💜
Not Duane. It’s Johnny Bellar
You're absolutely right
Why does it show Duane ?
I think it was played in honor of Duane@tompease8810
What a rendition of the greatest song ever written.
My mother passed on 5/3/13 at the age of 95, and am so very, very grateful to find this on UA-cam...Thank you. This means so much to me. God bless, ya'll.

Sorry about your loss. May your dear mother rest in peace
My Dad passed in 2010. He loved this song, and it has made many a bad day go a little easier. Still choke up every time I hear or play it. He was a Saved Man of many years.
It still remains the greatest song ever written.
And trump Lost!

Only if you have a soul worth saving! Jesus Christ suffered unbelievable trauma. Just for us. May God bless Duane’s soul as well as his kid brother. In Jesus name Amen
As a life long Allman Brothers fan this is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful man. I’m telling my kids to play this when I cross over to the other side.

some folks are just not happy unless they have something to complain about....the very folks that could use some of this glorious, soulful music.....a little Church can go a long way...RIP Duane, thank you for the many years of soothing sounds.
Sure RIP Duane, but this is not him playing. It's Johnny Bellar
It doesn't matter to me who played it. It is a beautiful song. There's nothing sweeter than an old Dobro playing a hymn that was written in 1779. Play on brother...
This is one of the prettiest hymns there is and Duane does a masterful job
@@tompease8810 Johnny Bellar !
It's a wonderful piece played thousands of times, but Dwayne still played it his own way. ❤😎

Absolutely the most soulful heartfelt rendition ever. Duane is playin this at the pearly gates. No doubt in my mind.
Amazing grace
how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost
but now am found
Was blind but now I see
'Twas grace that taught
my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did
that grace appear
The hour I first believed
Through many dangers
toils and snares
I have already come
'Tis grace hath brought me
safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has
promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures
He will my shield
and portion be
As long as life endures.
Yes,when this heart
and flesh shall fail
And mortal life shall cease
I shall possess within the vail
A life of joy and peace
The earth shall soon
dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God, Who
called me here below
Will be forever mine
When we've been there
ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days
to sing God's praise
Than when we'd first begun
Thank you.

This Georgia boy is so unique in everything he ever played. There is no one like Dwayne. Touched by a higher power, he was taken too soon. I have always loved him! ❤😎
The user put a picture of Duane to farm extra views. He's a liar.
@@windwaker01 yeah I kind of thought that. I’ve heard just about everything he recorded and I’ve never heard him do Amazing Grace.
Duane, and he was born in Nashville and raised in Tennessee and Daytona Beach Florida. He was born in 1946 and moved to Daytona Beach in the late fifties. The Allman Brothers band moved to Macon Georgia in 1969. And this is not even Duane playing, it’s Johnny Bellar.
@@roberthamlin6638 Absolutely correct. I should be officially kicked out of the I know Duane club. But I do love his music a lot. Eat a Peach means a lot to me. And I do think of southern boys, the best of the south. So free flowing and creative. ;Rock, Bluegrass, Gospel, Country infulences but is it's own style. I got carried away thinking of Eat A Peach and Georgia. I should have edited the comment. Actually surprised anyone read it. I am sorry and stand corrected. He may not be associated with Georgia like Ray Charles but Eat a Peach wii remind me of Georgia. I was living in Florida when the album was released. Mountain Jam, of course
But that little instrumental, Little Martha was inspired.thanks for pointing it out, Robert.

God will always be good to those that accept him into their life's, No questions! I visited the Gravesites yesterday 01/08/2022 of Duane, Gregg, Berry and Butch. I sat down on the steps there and just reminisced of my childhood while I listened to "Dreams" playing on my phone. This song is another small example of Duane's talent that was given to him from our Lord Jesus Christ, son of God. Today, I pray for you, to let him speak to you with only your ears. Your life will forever be changed, mine did. Before I left, I strolled over to visited Elizabeth Reed gravesite. What a great Lady and song.
RIP to all you boys that I got the chance to reminisce with yesterday. I left there and drove a couple of minutes over to H&H Soul food restaurant where Mama Louise used to feed those young musician boys and had me the BEST lunch. This song was written by the captain of a slave trading ship who latter saw the error of his ways, the music was from one of the songs the slaves sang on the way over
No. John Newton, the slave trader, wrote this song after he was born again/saved through the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Man is wretched and only the amazing Grace of God Almighty is powerful to save one's soul.
Amazing what men have done.to others human beings...
John Newton Former slave ship captain wrote the words but no one knows where the melody came from. You can go to the Library of Congress and look it up, it says “amazing Grace, Written by : John Newton, Melody : Unknown”
Really? I did not know that. What time period was it written and which country did the captain come from?

All Duane wanted to do was play guitar and hang out with musicians, "the cats", as he called them (liner booklet, Anthology of Duane Allman) He was / is an undisputed master guitarist of the "Classic Rock" era, one of my favorites. Now, this gospel piece sounds like a dobro, probably not a steel guitar. The excellent artist playing this number is in the style of Josh Graves, Mike Auldridge, or Jerry Douglas. See them doing "Fireball" on UA-cam. Also see Jerry at his best with Jay Unger playing Big Scioty.
