My prof for organic chem is amazing, but I STRUGGLED with resonance. Turns out all I needed was a Melissa Maribel video to help me out. Absolutely saving my chemistry since 2021, thank you!!!
Literally life saving, thank you so much for making great content like this, I love the back and forth style and it makes it so much easier to follow along
So at 15:00, the question asked us to draw all the resonance structures for the molecule. I came up with 2 more resonance structures where the pi bond would resonate onto either of the two sp² carbons in the middle and form a lone pair of electrons (thus forming a carbanion). Even though these are minor contributors, wouldn’t those still be resonance structures in addition to the one shown in the video?
I just got a membership today and I already feel much better than I did 2 weeks ago! I watched the Acids and bases video and I found it to be very helpful! However I need more help my professor is going over pka values and how that can determine acidity and he is also going over how to draw arrows to show how nucleophiles and electrophiles interact aswell as with bronstead lowry acids and bases . That't the one I quite don't understand. Thank you for all that you do!
Happy to hear the videos are already helping! Also we have videos on those topics, I’ll let my team know and they will email you with the links to those Chemmunity videos.
That’s coming next week 😆 but the concept videos and more practice problems are already on my site for Chemmunity membership holders. Those videos won’t be on UA-cam. You can see them on chemmunity.com/
I just love women in STEM. Have my first OChem exam tomorrow and this video has just been such a comforting and insightful resource. Thank you so much for what you do, Melissa!

Are we getting an OChem 1 acids and bases video soon? My professor has already started that :/
