Why don’t all air conditioners have soft start technology built in already?

Cost too much this unit is $300 and the air-conditioning companies are fighting against each other to sell their units in the ad that $300 plus their installation fees they would lose money in the long run so they leave it to you

Why don’t the RV manufacturer’s offer soft start as a factory option? I’d much rather pay the cost as part of the upfront cost.

what about a comparison between a Micro-Air and SoftStart. From what I've read, SoftStart uses the same technology as Micro-Air. I know SoftStart has been putting a lot of money into promotion, but does really make it an improvement over Micro-Air?

I have a Dometic Penguin with a Heat pump (don't know about a relay) model number 651816HXX1C0-01. I was interested in getting a SoftstartRv to allow me to use my Atima 2000Y (2000 Watt Generator). I was just on the phone with Andrea at Dometic to confirm this is safe for my new A/C (installed in July of 2021). Andrea started "DO NOT install this on your A/C as it will Void my 2 year warranty). I was surprised, as I was very interested in being able to run the A/C on my motorhome off a more quiet (compared to the 4000watt Onan Generator in my motorhome) and more fuel efficient Yamaha 2000Watt generator.

When running your AC off the onboard generator , what type of summer fuel consumption are you averaging?

    Mike,
Quick question. Reading some recent reviews from people purchasing on Amazon several state they are/have had problems getting tech support from Soft Start for installation. For me support is critical if I purchase. What are you hearing? Product sounds great.

With this technology could I run the air conditioner off of a solar panel? How can I add more batteries to my RV or an "boat A/B" switch to run longer? Who can I trust to provide honest answers?
