I personally don’t like a medicine cabinet behind the mirror. I’ve watched too many horror movies with that one scene where a ghost would appear in the mirror when the actor closes the cabinet. I got no time for that.
I used to think I need a super big dream house, but after watching a few of your videos about studio apartment and minimalism, it really changed my mind. Dream house don't really need to be that big, as long as the house you live in are comfortable.
Me and my boyfriend are just about to move into a studio apartment together. Thank you for speaking so much sense 😂 I fell down a rabbit hole of thinking We needed a ton of stuff! This has brought me back down to earth before going on a crazy spending spree
I appreciate your presentation style being "no frills" (as we say in Australia). You're to the point, concise & come across very authentic! Refreshing for UA-cam
Great video dude, You could always buy super simple black out curtains and use the projector during the day, I think the projector instead of a tv is such a good idea
Handsome Mr.Joe! Fun minimalist presentation... minimalist of 38 yrs agrees with the 'intentional' things on our life... like me, you seem to make it aesthetically pleasing too
A small tip: I also hate washing dishes esp when they pile up but I usually wash them as I have food cooking on the stove and have a bit of free time. Ig I got into the habit of multitasking and it makes a huge difference & saves so much time.
I honestly love small spaces. Especially if they’re bright. Feels sooo much cleaner and less stressful. I rent I room right now and it’s quite small and the rest of my apartment is pretty small as well. I’d love to get a studio in downtown Brooklyn but prices for studios are similar here (honestly a bit more expensive than Vancouver)
i feel you on the dishes! its the worst chore imo. i have only one pot and pan so when i cook i always have to do the dishes again. downside is if i don’t cook for a few days, the dishes will sit in the sink lol
As for the floor mat: you can get a piece of carpet you like cut to size and finished by a rug shop or an upholstery place, I had an outdoor carpet done like that for my old deck because it was an awkward size I needed
You can get a short picture ledge from ikea and mount it on the wall to the left of the mirror in the bathroom. It is just deep enough to put face wash bottles etc but not too deep like a regular shelf.
you need stackable plastic bins for your kitchen you can store SO MUCH more food in plastic bins, most people use bins in closets, i use them in cabinets too. I have a bin just for Ramen, ALSO get Zip lock bags and put all pasta and boxed foods into them as you can fit so much more into a plastic bin when you remove boxes
If you want a mat which fills the entire space, look on eBay for suppliers of coconut husk doormats, they're rubber lined so they don't slip, but they can be ordered at plus size and cut with scissors to fit the space. We've used them when we've sunk one in a space we left in our floorboards so that it is flush, with the floor, but totally possible to use without one, Just check your door will clear the thickness of the pile.
A simple little door wedge can be put on the floor at night and no one is coming in, even if they have the keys. I have the same bathroom mistake, mirror with no shelves anywhere, so I put in some corner shelves myself, easy to do, thing wire mesh kind. I have shelves too high to use too, but I got a folding footstool and it is very long term storage, mostly toilet paper, just in case, lol. I barely go up there once a month, but it also makes a great spot to hide some cash. I buy detergent that comes in a pump bottle already. This looks like a Yonkers NY studio on the water, I also have a tiny sink, but at least a real full-size stove and dishwasher. But my dishwasher is too small for pots and pans, so is my sink, so I got a collapsable rubber tub to soak them there, dump it all in sink when done. I don't have dishes, I use all paper plates, bowls, and cups; except for company. I use bamboo towels, or Walmart shop towels blue, they can be washed and used dozens of times, real paper or bamboo towels are better for drying stuff. I am jealous of that huge fridge, my building supplies little ones, 5 feet high but still small. That closet is huge, way huge. Looks big enough for a twin bed. I would recommend the Sony LSPX P1 near wall projector, sure 780p but man it is awesome, don't need speakers, the built-in ones are more than enough to fill your room. Get them used under 500 now. I enjoyed seeing another micro-studio, I was in one, then got a bigger one, but now I am moving back to a small one, but it has a 12-foot ceiling, awesome for projectors.
When I was living alone I always used my dishwasher as a large drying rack. I only ever had 3 of everything (except Pyrex that I have an endless supply of). 😅
I use some carpet tile samples as entry mats in my home and you can cut them with a box cutter to the size you need + they’ll be unique if they’re discontinued samples!!
I love everything. Except I can't handle the no cover on the doova. How do you clean it? What if you stain it? You could easily get a cheap white one? WHYYYYYY
This is inspiring! So clean. Only thing I'd want is a little bigger kitchen. I like to cook. What's you favorite and least favorite thing about the studio?
Damn $1500 ain’t bad for how nice that place is and the view, especially in Vancouver. Here in LA shitty run down studios with no view go for that much.
Hey man! I’d swap where the couch and dining table is - it’ll look better I bet! It’d be center on the wall which will look nice and then the table is more in a “dining room” space. Just a thought!
You've turned the studio apartment into a home!! Good to see that plants have prominent role in the outfitting of your flat.
thank you!
I personally don’t like a medicine cabinet behind the mirror. I’ve watched too many horror movies with that one scene where a ghost would appear in the mirror when the actor closes the cabinet.
I got no time for that.
this a valid argument
@@justjoelee I mean, I already scare myself with my own face every morning. That's more than enough. lol
🤣
I be willing to risk for installing a medicine cabinet.
😂😂😂😂
Clearly the nameless plants should be Ding and Dong.
😂😂😂
What about Ping Pong

Agreed
Why is this so aesthetically pleasing though
because it's justjoelee
Natural light and greenery
I love how organised and tidy everything is! Really nice how you encourage mindful purchases and zero waste in all your videos.
Me and my boyfriend are just about to move into a studio apartment together. Thank you for speaking so much sense 😂 I fell down a rabbit hole of thinking We needed a ton of stuff! This has brought me back down to earth before going on a crazy spending spree

I’m sick and bed ridden and your videos are keeping my moral up!
Noah Shepherd sending you love in this trying times💕
Ok but it's so GENIUS! You just put your used clothes straight inside the washer and don't need any laundry basket! 천재이다! 천재 🔥
Recently, we dumpstered everything in our entire apartment and it's amazing. Simple Living is best! Bean Bag + Yoga Mat in the living room
Great video dude, You could always buy super simple black out curtains and use the projector during the day, I think the projector instead of a tv is such a good idea
"I could just bury my face in Patricia."😳😂
yikes
@@justjoelee Haha, love the Article stuff though!
this makes me want to pack up my family and move to Vancouver tomorrow! the views are beautiful! great apartment tour Joe!
im very grateful to no longer be in -30
Jasper must be so used to you talking to yourself 😂
Oh my.... A seamlessly integrated fridge, and a niche kitchen. Smooth. I Love It!
Ñame your two plants “kim” and “chi” for kimchi😂
i like these cuz they are both different species
im moving into a tiny micro studio apartment for my first year in college! im so excited and love your videos
OMG, I just love Jasper! And, oh yeah, Joe too! LOL I love the apt bro, it looks really awesome!

I died when I saw your dog outside. I thought he was on a window ledge... lmao
The other plants should be “Bing” and “Bong” ... or “Ding” and “Dong.. or “Ping” and “Pong”.
😂😂😂

Great video! You always present a really motivational philosophy and funny video! Keep going🙌
thank you!
maybe one or two floating shelves in the bathroom can help with the lack of space or if there’s space above the toilet a small cabinet up there
Jasper is adorable , love the apartment tour

getting enough natural light makes a huge difference and also having high ceilings 👌🏼
I love your sense of humor, so happy I found your channel!
Love your place but this one is the best. And love the fit of the day
FOTD, I should trademark it haha
Great place! Your definition of minimalism realy makes sense. Thank you for bringing some enlightenment
Your home is basically perfect.
I saw someone sewing 2 floor mats together, just and idea
PS Jasper is a total 💎
This apartement is beautiful!!
U r lucky to live there......
You are so funny! Great tour. Gives me ideas for my upcoming apartment.

I love that dining table but I like having an open space in my small space. Looks good in yours though.
Hahaha I love the dishwasher storage.
made my mother proud
I'm jealous of the view! If you want to bring more light into your space, you can use mirrors near your windows/doors to bounce light in :)
You can get a short picture ledge from ikea and mount it on the wall to the left of the mirror in the bathroom. It is just deep enough to put face wash bottles etc but not too deep like a regular shelf.
I love your apartment. You have done a great job. Thanks for the tour.
When you said immigrant child, that hit me right in the feels. This is random but I feel you bro.

new sub. i like your personality ,i had many laughs. nice simple functional. 👍
I'm looking for a studio apartment. What are the 'must have', 'would like options' amenities or features when you consider a small highrise apartment?
I love everything. Except I can't handle the no cover on the doova. How do you clean it? What if you stain it? You could easily get a cheap white one? WHYYYYYY
Black out curtains help w projectors if you’re gonna use them during the day
Thanks for the video! Are you still happy with the Sven sofa? How are the cushions and the pillows now? Planning to buy on of these in 2021. cheers
Where did you get your utensil holder in the drawers? It's very cool
This is inspiring! So clean. Only thing I'd want is a little bigger kitchen. I like to cook. What's you favorite and least favorite thing about the studio?
Favourite: Quick clean up
Least favourite: People getting butt hurt about why I dont have a "real" bedroom
Why am I sitting here holding my makeup train case watching this video. Nostalgia
👇🏼Who came here for Jasper 🐶🐶🐶

hey, can you link down where you got your couch please. Loved you video!
yup, just update the description box ✌🏼
I love how the kimchi bottle is half full and you call it "running dangerously low" lol
Nice studio.....but Jasper is the star, here!!
Get a rug from amazon and for the squeaky door you can put any oil in a spray and spray the henges
Apache Mills Manhattan 30" X 47" Mat at Costco. $14.99. Amazon has them for 34.99. Picked up 2 the other day. Very durable a great quality
thank you!
Hope you’re enjoying Vancouver!! Your apartment is GOALS. Also love your v azn drying rack 😛
"This is where you put your shit, this is where you take a shit..." 😂😂😂
ugh... that close-up eye contact though. 🤤
JJL how do you feel about the Coronavirus? Are you doing anything to prepare?
Do you like your bed brand? I have a horrible bed, and have been looking for a new bed to buy.
Damn $1500 ain’t bad for how nice that place is and the view, especially in Vancouver. Here in LA shitty run down studios with no view go for that much.
great use of space. i may be in this situation soon, as the area where i reside is out of control , for affordable apartments.
"This is the main entrance way, this is where you put all your shit, and this is where you take a shit"
Caught me off guard lol but I love it!
haha never know what going to come out of my mouth next 😂

Actually another thought! Dining table where the mirror is and mirror in corner where couch is and couch center on the wall.
ive thought of that, but need a blank wall for projector 👌🏼
JustJoeLee could you protect it above your bed?? I know it would look so much better hah dang
I have an aunt who never uses her dishwasher and uses it a drying rack/storage , she has a normal sized sink though and we are Indian
what are the amazon links for the frame and mattress??
