      @sosacandles  8 місяців тому +1

      Hi @preethiariyadarsini8832,
      Thank you for reaching out with such a fantastic question about candle making! It's one of the most asked questions we receive, and it's great to address it.
      In candle making, the addition of colour is a critical step for achieving the desired aesthetic. The best time to add colour is when the wax has fully melted but hasn't reached an excessively high temperature. Ideally, this is around 185°F (85°C). Adding colour at this stage ensures even distribution throughout the wax.
      Exciting news! Due to the high interest in this topic, we are currently working on a detailed video covering everything about adding colour to candles. I highly recommend subscribing to our channel so you don't miss out. This way, you'll get notified as soon as the video is up, providing you with more in-depth guidance and tips.
      For colourants, you have several options:
      Dye Blocks: Great for deep, rich colours. They need to be melted into the wax.
      Liquid Dyes: Offer precise control and mix easily but are highly concentrated.
      Powdered Dyes: Ideal for vibrant hues and larger batches, though require thorough mixing to avoid clumps.
      Stir the colour into the wax thoroughly for uniform distribution. Remember, the final colour of the candle might slightly differ from its appearance in melted form.
      I hope this helps in your candle-making journey! And if you’re enjoying our content, please subscribe to our channel for more in-depth tips and techniques. Your support encourages us to keep sharing our knowledge!
      Best,
      Sonal.

      @chinnugamer7718 I’m very happy you found the video helpful. For color candles you can try paraffin and soy wax. Paraffin will give you brighter colors and soy candles will give you pastel colors. I recently uploaded a video on different types of waxes. I am confident the video will help you decide whether you must pick paraffin or soy wax.

    My candle doesn’t stick well with the jar once it dries it separates from the jar i made the jar with pop which is plaster of paris and i used soy and parafin wax how to overcome this

    • @sosacandles
      @sosacandles  6 місяців тому +1

      @Nailsby_san I also made candles with POP/ Cement. Here’s my experience.
      In candle making, it's common for candles to shrink a bit when they cool, which can cause them to pull away from the jar. Here are a few tips that might help:
      1. Preheat your jars: Before pouring the wax into the jars, warm them slightly. This can be done by placing them in a warm oven for a few minutes/ or using a heat gun. This helps the wax cool more slowly, reducing shrinkage.
      2. Pour temperature: Adjusting the temperature at which you pour the wax into the jars can also make a difference. Pouring too hot can cause the wax to pull away as it cools too quickly; pouring too cool can cause poor adhesion from the start.
      3. Use a primer or adhesive: There are primers and stickum adhesives available specifically for candle making which can be applied to the inside of the jar before pouring the wax to help with adhesion.
      4. Top off the candle: After the initial pour has cooled and if a sinkhole has formed or if it has pulled away from the jar, you can do a second pour to fill in any gaps.
      5. Cool slowly: Allow the candles to cool slowly. This can be done by insulating them with a box or wrapping them lightly with a towel.
      Experimenting with these methods should help in achieving better adhesion between the candle and the jar.

    I also made it but my wax cracked as it cooled

      It’s because the wax you are using is unsuitable for making a jar candle. I’d recommend you try out soy jar wax from here. They have high quality raw materials for candle making.
