Joel sold me my KLH Model 5’s. Found a pair off the floor. Went OUT OF HIS WAY, to make sure that I knew they had some cabinet damage with a load of pictures and volunteered an additional discount, as he found the additional damage after I agreed to buy them. I can’t say enough about the great, friendly, honest service and experience with Joel and Upscale. Pro-tip I discovered as part of this. If you rub a shelled walnut on a walnut veneer, the discoloration will virtually disappear. Thanks, Joel!
Joel Bennett, Thank you for letting in and giving the tour. Enjoyed your back ground incite, and tour of your home/system ! All the best from N.H U.S.A.
Well folks, that is the real Joel. I take the team out to a microbrew every month or so, and sometimes Joel is performing with his band. He truly is one of the sweetest men I've ever met, and if you spend some time with him it's going to be hard to have a bad day.
Loved the video, Joel and it was great working with you building my new system - still breaking it in, but I love it! It was also nice putting the face to the name, but DAMN!! 😳
I want to express my gratitude to Kevin and the top-notch video team- Andriy, a fabulous Guy and filmmaker from Ukraine, and Travis (Mr. 420, who actually does not like weed but is so mellow, you can believe it) for my job and the wonderful way they presented myself and my home! My incredible Partner, Carole and I suffered the loss of her Mother , Miss Imogene, last Saturday at sundown. I thought about a dedication at the end, but it would not have been fitting in context. I did mention her scrabble prowess, and she slaughtered us only a few days before the end- she laid down all seven tiles to make an eight letter word. I’m like a loyal dog… waiting for her to come back home. It will pass. You can’t live with a Saint and not have a lot of faith and gumption rub off on you. Good and great music, as it always does…. Reassures our Souls. God bless you all.
I'm watching this and when he goes into his music room I'm floored because I too have the Tannoy Sterlings in my media room. They're my pride and joy. Bought from Kevin. He gave a terrific deal. Thanks for the advise on the REL subwoofers. I'll give it a try.
My pleasure, and peace to you. I have a t series REL and it is truly great. Stirrings qualify for a long look at the s series, they are even faster, have lower extension and more slam. Wherever your pocketbook is comfortable, REL has a fine subwoofer.
@@joelbennett5128 Thanks for the advise. The T series appears to be within my budgetary range. Not at the moment but down the line sometime. This hobby is all consuming both in passion and money. Cheers.
Very well done Joel. It is really nice to put a face with the voice. I am still enjoying the Sopra 2's that I got from you about a year ago and I still want to add a REL sub one of these days.
Great to hear, Bill. It would be hard not to like Sopra no2s! They are better overall than Tannoy. They redness the tweeter to improve tweeter/midrange arrival times and are the most neutral, transparent and open and lively speaker( outside of Klipsch for liveliness) I know of. Look at the s series rels
@@joelbennett5128 thanks, I don't know that I could have done any better than the Sopra's without spending a lot more money and I am still very happy with them even though I probably don't have them set up perfectly, they sound so good where they that I just got lazy and called it good enough. I think when I get the sub it will be the S510. You have been a really big help with all of this so thank you for that!
Joel, all is I can say is that sharing a bath with you wasn't high on my list. But thanks for helping me out last week with the sale on the Classic Remix.
Completely agree with the Rel subwoofer thoughts. Just got a stereo pair of S812s- they bring out a dimensionality to the soundstage that any loudspeaker just cannot.
Awesome video but wait, wait, wait. Joel, one Khorn in one corner (7:02) with a sort of false corner coming out the right side with a candle holder on top??????? Where's his twin?
I can honestly say that I was pretty certain I was going to make it all the way through life without having ever once seen a man drinking Guinness while taking a bubble bath and listening to James Taylor.
Hey Joel...YO DA MAN....fantastic video bro!!!! First of all you are my hero right off the bat because you are a true hockey fan....so am I being a Canadian boy now American (GO LEAFS??) Now have to root for the Florida Panthers here in Ft. Lauderdale. Your home is cozy and inviting and a perfect setting for your excellent choice of hi fi. Recently added a pair of REL 212/SX series and running a pair of Mac 1.25kw mono amps and waiting to get my new MC1100 preamp to arrive. How come Kevin doesn't carry MacIntosh anyhow? The weak element now are my Legacy Audio speakers and I need a change....Tannoy? Don't know too much about them but I am under the impression they play extremely polite and quiet being British...no? So what can you or Kevin recommend to give me the ultimate ooomph factor while retaining the accuracy and transparency and balls out punch I demand in a tremendous loudspeaker i.e. Focal....Wilson.....Magico....or??? If you have the time would love to hear from you. Again I sure enjoyed your personality and made me feel like we were best buddies ....unlike the usual annoying creeps on Y.T. that are full of it. By the way near the end of your video when you asked Alexa to play James Taylor my own Alexa heard it like you were here and began to play...so funny. All the very best and stay safe.
Johnny Cash for the win !! Great system overall and nice presentation. It has been years since I have auditioned Tannoy speakers and feel like that day is arriving once again. But I love it loud so they may not be in my future.
Hey Felix- Tannoy are not polite, but can be tamed if you want to. They have better than average sensitivity and will crank quite well with the right gear. The knurled brass knobs on the brass plate at the bottom, allows you to mechanically adjust the high frequency energy from the speaker up or down up to 3 dB. If someone wants a change from Klipsch- which is a different delicious flavor of loudspeaker, I mention Tannoy as a great option. They are open and lively and have that true life rhythm and “Swing” from the perfect time alignment of the Miss and the highs. It’s a flavor that a few other manufacturers imitate, but have yet to equal.
@@joelbennett5128 fair enough and good info to know. I certainly am not looking for subtle, I like lively so maybe I am totally mistaken on Tannoy based on experience from over 25 years ago. So getting around to hearing them again is one of those things on my system "to do" list...Thanks !
I own a set of Apogee ribbons and love that seamless midrange! Tannoy creates that sensation, but in a non-planar, dynamic design that makes that seamlessness more lively. Ribbons are a most delicious flavor of ice cream. Tannoy are just a different delicious flavor.

Very well done. Nice to see the room, (and house) where a nice audiophile system resides.

That was great! You can see Joel's acting chops shine through.

Great video. Listening to you made my day. Keep these videos coming.
Nice system Joel… Thanks for helping me get back into the hobby. Your knowledge and patience make it easy to shop at Upscale Audio.
Looks like offset spacing on the tannoys? Perfect example of getting the mains right first.

Hey Joel, I'm loving the Tannoy Turnberry's you sold me a few months back.
Cool video and tour of you place.
thanks
Glad you love em, Mike! Call or chat me with any questions, or for an update.
I love these videos. Please keep them coming!
Great work Joel and nice system.
Nice presentation, and yes tannoy is genuine audio stuf
Alexa started playing.....lol
Great candid endorsement for Tannoy. He should do product reviews!
Love it, great job Upscale.
I loved that. Real. Honest.

A first! Joel commanded Alexa to play James Taylor and my original Echo next to the TV is playing him now. Wow.
Now THAT, was entertainment ! Too funny at the conclusion ((O:
I almost bought the Sterlings, I went with Wilson audio. However I have tannoy in my bedroom and they are phenomenal 👍🏻👍🏻
Any guy who likes hockey, Johnny Cash, and Guinness is A-OK with me!
Don't wait for your ship to come in. Swim out to it.

I found that high-back chairs (like the one here) affect the sound in a negative way.

My Turnberrys have spoiled me. Need to win the lottery to move up the line. 😂
