That girl's name is CL. And usually people pronounce 2ne1 as "To anyone" (at the same time it's the meaning of their name). You should also check out their songs "I love you" and "Falling in love" :)

I pronounce 2ne1 as "21" but said quickly. But I guess that works as well.
Their music quality is the reason why Blackjacks (their fandom name) are at loss by their sudden disbanding. 2NE1 concept is against all the 'manufactured' concept of K girl group. Each members has different vocal characters which complement each other and easily distinguished (like Bigbang).. Also, their live performance quality is on top of the game. They're very different in so many ways. Good reaction as usual! 💙

Hey thanks for replying. One quick note regarding the song "Ugly".. the song talks about social pressures based on "appearance".. the song was inspired by the fact that the group's leader, CL, was pressured into getting plastic surgery by her record label, prior to her debut. She declined.
In an interview, CL also revealed that their label's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, calls the members "ugly" all the time 😂

Blackpink is inspired heavily by 2ne1. Along with SNSD/Girls Generation, theyre both the frontrunners who helped shaped Girlgroups of today.

I'm sorry but I just have to comment here because I always get triggered with comments like these. Blackpink is NO 2ne1. (Not yet at least) 2ne1 SLAYS at the stage everytime they perform. Blackpink live is great but it lacks the oomph that 2ne1 brings. They always light the stage on fire and I don't think Blackpink is on that level yet. 2ne1 will always be the QUEENS of live performances.
But yes I agree that BlackPink will eventually surpass 2ne1 (YG themselves stated that they plan to emulate 2ne1's success with Blackpink) but I think its not the time yet.
As for SNSD, they are a household name at this point! Girls Generation are THE defacto girl group to think of when you think of that word. Yes Twice is the most popular group right now, but I think SNSD at their prime are better. That's why I'm extremely salty when Twice was officially declared as the new Nation's Girl Group, like come on, they've debuted for what, a year tops, they're still fairly new to be given that title. And with half of their members foreigners! I think people are just riding on Twice's high and I don't think they would manage to do another hit after the hype dwindles down.

SNSD > Twice
LMAO chill dude. Where did that come from all of a sudden. I never mentioned anything about them being better or hating on 2ne1/SNSD. In fact, I LOVE all these groups.
But since you put it that way, let me at least reply to some of your comments.
BLACKPINK Is getting there. Admit it. Their recent performances have been fantastic and their stage presence is as good as 2ne1 now. All they need is a massive internationally hit song then I think it would be safe to say they have surpassed their masters. And I'm not sure why you are even getting triggered by Blackpink being compared to 2ne1. Even Blackpink themselves WANTS to be compared to 2ne1. They are their inspiration in the first place.
As said by Jisoo in an interview: "We don't intentionally try to be different from them. In fact, we believe they had portrayed the real colors of YG and that is why we don't want to portray a different color than them. We believe that it is a good thing for us to follow in their footsteps as much as we're allowed to. When you see them perform, you would quickly realize that 2NE1 are experienced professionals that oozes charisma and we want to be like that too."
They're from the same company FFS. Stop hating on Blackpink just because "hurr durr a 2ne1 wannabe".
It's also clear that you hold a grudge against Twice. And your discrimination is clearly showing with that "How can they be declared Nation's Girl Group with foreign members" remark. Twice surpassed Girls Generation in almost every aspect at this point. Admit it. And they only had two years to achieve this compared to SNSD. Even on member popularity Twice is more memorable with each member almost equally popular where SNSD is basically Taeyeon/Yoona + 6.
You're remark about people riding off of Twice's hype and them not managing another hit is clearly false and it seems you aren't that knowledgeable on them and just want to hate them.
That "hype" you have spoken of is during the "Cheer Up" era where they gained massive popularity when everybody started to do the shy shy shy dance. That was a year ago. Then they released TT which became an even bigger hit especially in Japan. Knock Knock and Signal are hits too and have been number 1 for several weeks. (EDIT: And now Signal just won number one 12 times in a row.) How is that not consistency. Ask anyone in Korea if they know who Twice are and they would say yes. That's the definition of the Nation's Girl Group. It doesn't have to do anything about foreign members. I was a sone before and SNSD were the queens and now that they disbanded, its time they step down and give the crown to the new generation. Twice is clearly that.
Stop hating, move on and accept the new wave of talent.
OH MY GOD CAN YOU TWO GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSES. Go argue which girl group is better in a forum not here.
It makes no sense to compare the new generation to the former ones. And it's unfair to even remark that Blackpink/Twice are better than 2NE1/SNSD given that they're both fairly new and debuted 2 years ago. Respect that legends.
SNSD and 2NE1 are the two most popular/best groups of their time. They shaped and paved the way for Kpop today.
Twice and Blackpink are the two most popular/best groups of today (Though Mamamoo is my bias and I think they can become huge!). No generation is better than the other.
