Thanks a lot Reza! I always learn something new & tricky from your videos. Your videos are always very helpful and are the reason that I have been able to develop a working app for my team. I have almost similar scenario for which I am developing an App but looks like I am missing something and not able to move forward. Here is the scenario : We have #50 customers and #25 Tools and multiple implementation state for each tool. For each customer we want to know the status of every tool. Example, For customer A, Tool-1 is implemented but Tool-2 is in POC state whereas Tool-3 - POC Cancelled. So this way, For each customer, we will have #25 entries (#25 tools) and every entry will capture implementation status of respective tool for that customer. That means, total 50*25 = 1250 entries which will be stored in either sharepoint or excel or dataverse for teams. I want to build a Power App using which I can retrieve data from datasource-->Filter data for each customer so on a single page I am able to see tool name & implementation status of all the tools for Customer A ---> Edit those records and then save back to the datasource. Your guidance on this will be helpful. Thanks, Ashish.
@@RezaDorrani : Thanks for the response! Actually the issue is - I am unable to fetch all records for a customer in editable. I used table but that fetches all the records and if I try to filter it based on customer then nothing shows.
awesome video Reza!!! Clearly the one I was looking for. I have a question, I tried to do the same, created couple of tables and linked them through lookup columns but when I patch the data, in the dataverse table it's not visible however if I use a gallery to pull up the data it's coming visible. What could be the reason for it that I can't see the lookup column filled data in Dataverse table?
I will have to look at your App in action to provide guidance. My guess is something is not right in the way you are setting the default value of lookup column. I would recommend posting your issue/query with screenshots on the forums at powerusers.microsoft.com

Thanks Mr Reza, I was literally waiting for this kind of guide... Thanks a ton!!!.. Well can you please make more videos on Dataverse and Power Automate, (Business process flow, and RPA)..
Thanks Reza. I really appreciate this video and all the other one I saw. I have just a question about the user table you mention that I didn't find in my dataverse. It is in italian but there are two table: "Utenti (users)" and "Utenti Microsoft (Microsoft users)". When I show their content I didn't find my organization identities. I have found a virtual table called "Microsoft Entra Identity" and it shows the accounts in my domain so I've thinked to use it but it is not allowed to create on that table a many-to-many relationship. I really appreciate a your feedback and again thanks for your job.
Thanks Reza for all your content on Power apps. I am developing a similar screen but with my own tables. I have used collection as a datasource for the main gallery. On adding or removing items to my relationship table by Relate/Unrelate my main gallery and neither the names list gallery gets updated. Although I call Referesh(mytable) and ClearCollect after relate/unrelate. Any ideas pls. Thanks

@@RezaDorrani Thanks again for your reply. This answer below was from 2020.(from David Jennaway) "No, this is not possible in CDS. There are a few exceptions for the built-in email and appointment entities, which allow multiple lookup values for certain fields (e.g. 'to', 'requiredattendees'), but you can't do this for custom fields or entities. The main workaround is to create a N:N relationship between the entities, rather than a lookup (which is an N:1 relationship)"

Hi Reza, another great video. I have watched and learnt from many of your videos, and implemented what I have learnt. The next step on my journey is into Dataverse for Teams. I am looking to create an asset management tool where I can assign users to particular assets, such as laptops or phones. However, I need to be able to record the assignment history. So I can check who has been assigned a particular device since it's purchase, or what devices have been assigned a particular user since they joined us. Do you have a video or guidance on how to create such a history log table in Dataverse? Thanks... and looking forward to the next videos :)
I have started with Dataverse just now and this is the first video I watched. While it does show some hands on details , I was expecting to see how to first connect dataverse with my applications. Then it would have made more sense to add data manualy which by the way is not practical. You will most likely use some app to collect data and store it in dataverse
Hello Reza, , Thank you for posting the videos on Power Apps topics. you are helping a lot to improve the skills. if i may ask a question on this particular topic, i am in the process of building similar with two tables A&B(1:N), let's say in your scenario project & project tasks, but in my case i will not be having a project to select in the lookup drop down while entering the project tasks. both tables data will be entered one after another at the same time and save it. so in this case what should i do to display table A data & Table B data that is related to table A. i posted this question in power community but no help. Thanks again for taking time.
Here is my guess: You would need the first item created in order for the relationship to come into effect. I think I may have shown something similar in this video - ua-cam.com/video/8BUxeYb-SX0/v-deo.html
thanks, Reza how do I deploy the flow with premium connectors in power automate when a client wants to be running the flow in their systems, what is a suitable license I should prefer/suggest to them (client)... can you please explain it
Thank you again for another great video! I've been scouring the internet, but can't find an intelligent way to automate the connection between two different records. My data source (dynamics 365) has a Projects table, and a People table, and there it knows which project each person is assigned to (many people, one job; but that person can also be on multiple jobs, just like your example). In my export (via a dataflow) I create these 2 tables, but it doesn't make sense for me to manually duplicate that linkage downstream. To set the lookup value I've tried looking at business data rules, setting the value via the dataflow, but I'm having no luck. I'm sure it is something stupid simple, but I feel lost.
I have done limited work with dataflows hence I'm not the best person to answer this question. I will recommend checking on the forums at powerusers.microsoft.com/ in case someone has done something similar.
for anyone reading the thread, the answer I found was to use a power automate flow that runs when a new line is added to the table to update that line with the link, kind of round-a-bout, but it seems to work. (though it was a convoluted solution to get the system to allow me to set a lookup value).
Thanks for making such a Nice Video on Dataverse @Reza Dorrani. Its really helpfu,. I have a doubt/requirement: What if I need to upload More than 5000 records to my Dataverse using canvas app instead of importing excel data in dataverse. Is that possible?
Reza, quick follow up question if I may. When you do a lookup column it gives you the value that is in the primary name colmn in the table you are looking up. Thats ok but what if that table were a user table where names are not unique, if I give it an autonumber as the primary name column it then makes it impossible to know which record I am looking up. I have tried to change the display in a drop down to show the name rather than the ID but no luck. Is there a way around this or is it just one of those things?? Many thanks in advance
I have not tried that scenario so not 100% sure. I will recommend checking on the forums at powerusers.microsoft.com/ in case someone has done something similar.

Great episode! The basics are super important when designing solutions. and thinking about a problem.
Absolutely!
Thank you for this awesome video! I do have a question, for the N:N relationship where you assigned multiple team members, where is the data being written to? I have done something similar but I can't find the supporting data for up. Thanks
All data is stored in Dataverse.

Hi Reza, Thanks for valuable information on Dataverse and it’s relationship, I have one question if I developed powerapps with “Per User Plan” license and use Dataverse or premium connector, so after publishing on Production can business user who have office E1, E3 or E5 license holder can access and perform data modification activities?
All App users will need premium licenses.
Thanks you so much Reza
I was struggling understanding how we can work with form its amazing video i will work on it but again i would like to know how we can work with functions

Thanks a lot Reza! I always learn something new & tricky from your videos.
Your videos are always very helpful and are the reason that I have been able to develop a working app for my team.
I have almost similar scenario for which I am developing an App but looks like I am missing something and not able to move forward.
Here is the scenario :
We have #50 customers and #25 Tools and multiple implementation state for each tool.
For each customer we want to know the status of every tool. Example,
For customer A, Tool-1 is implemented but
Tool-2 is in POC state whereas
Tool-3 - POC Cancelled.
Thanks,
Ashish.
Thanks for watching and liking the videos.
SharePoint and Dataverse support delegation. Both should work for your scenario.

Microsoft Entra Identity is a virtual table. You cannot create many-many relationships with a virtual table as the data does not live in table.
@@RezaDorrani Thanks for your quick reply. so what is the table i can use for users?

Thank you Reza! Late comment here, wanted to know...assuming the app maker needs a premium license to create tables in DV, do the end-users of a PA that's connected to DV require a premium license as well? They would need to CRUD data to the tables.

There is a column of type Choices in Dataverse. Give that a try!

Awesome Video, really helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
I have started with Dataverse just now and this is the first video I watched. While it does show some hands on details , I was expecting to see how to first connect dataverse with my applications. Then it would have made more sense to add data manualy which by the way is not practical. You will most likely use some app to collect data and store it in dataverse
Which applications are you planning to connect with Dataverse?
To bring data into Dataverse, you can use dataflows. That’s a separate topic.
Loved the content Reza, really hope see more similar videos. Great Work

thanks, Reza how do I deploy the flow with premium connectors in power automate when a client wants to be running the flow in their systems, what is a suitable license I should prefer/suggest to them (client)... can you please explain it
Im not sure about this.
@@RezaDorrani thank you for such a speedy reply!!! and of course, for all of your top tier content!
for anyone reading the thread, the answer I found was to use a power automate flow that runs when a new line is added to the table to update that line with the link, kind of round-a-bout, but it seems to work.
Possible using bulk data addition techniques.

Hi REZA awesoe video -where do you explain how to build the full app?
