The Cortez has always been the King of Sole separation for me, so now all the 'classic' sneakers I get have to have a stitched upper/midsole: AJ1, AF1, adidas forum, NB 550 etc. Not an issue with those shoes!
I love mine. Paid resale. I’m a huge sucker but fell in love with these shoes. They feel sturdy. I’ll try to keep them alive for years. I’d take these to a shoe repair store.
You’ll probably have to buy the soles yourself then, and get a sneaker restoration guy to fix it because that shoe might rip with the wrong people resoleing it
@@360.Tapestry have you ever been to an old school shoe repair place? Old Italian guy, doesn’t care if it’s Nike, will take whatever he has on hand and try to fix the shoe for you. Mine are holding up fine anyway 😇
I’m glad that it seems like a lot of people aren’t really into them because I’m an absolute Tom Sachs nut case and I wish the hype would die down at least a little. As someone who loves the entire TS world…sometimes the shoe stuff is a little annoying…but I also looooove my GPS even though the soles fell off.
This is the best shoe I ever owned, I wear it with socks I wear it without, super comfy either way, no heal slippage. I’m a true size 9 and that’s exactly what I went for. I have the brown one, the other colors look like they get wrecked. The tpu doesn’t crack either. Plenty of miles on these, they’re amazing
The Terrascape Plus is actually a pretty effective general purpose shoe. Surprisingly tough kicks. Great materials, killer colorways. Feels like Nike don’t know what to do with them exactly.
Feel ya I had a pair of something almost like those just air max plus I believe same type silhouette but I like them better with vapor max bottoms I have 2 of those lol but then again I only wear boots or crocs or barefoot depends where what and weather
Wouldn't this be an example of a bad shoe design? Especially when the whole concept was supposed to be "general purpose shoe"? Seems like bad design to have something that falls apart in a few months when the purpose was suppose to be for function
I will use this one in the nursing field soon…i will get back at you guys on my experience…lets see if the general purpose shoe really will serve its purpose well specially when you are on the medical field.
surprised to see your pair hasn't had any issues with the "rubber paint" reinforcement cracking from creasing (though I don't see many crease marks in general on yours!), mine already showed signs of cracking the second day of full day wear. Crazy.
@@daylanbailey4437 any Tom Sachs collab has hype, and it’s stupid these do. Who wants to buy an “everyday” shoe for $350? That’s not exactly a “if you beat ‘em up just buy another one” price😑
Hes thanks for the review. I have these and I'm less then overwhelmed. I also got them on release day at retail and appreciate the details and concept behind the shoe. I've worn mine for over a month (in my rotation). It's an ok shoe, it's not the best and not the worst. I would agree with everything you said. The pros are that you can wear it for just about anything and the overall construction is solid. I spend the first week wearing low cut/no-socks and destroyed my right heal (so like you said crew socks are a must). Prior to purchasing these I had also picked up the Nike ACG Lowcate and the Nike Free Terra Vista. Both of which I think are far better purchases! The Lowcate when put side by side to the Tom Sachs is similar but is better constructed, much wider toe box, and way more comfortable. The Nike Free Terra Vista when I put it next to my buddies Mars Yard it almost looks like they are brother and sister. The whole point of me saying all of that is because both of those shoes got zero hype from Nike and to me are way better, offer great colorways, much more affordable, look/feel better on foot, and so much easy to get. You should check them both out. I got both for under $100 and the Terra Vista with Nike's current sale is as low as $55. Just my two cents.
@@Peapodzilla I went true to size on all three shoes. The Tom Sachs heel collar is better now that it’s broken in but I still wear crew socks with it. I have a wide forefoot and I feel like they all fit me but the Lowcate and Terra have more room. I’m a size 12 and that’s what I purchased.
I have a fairly narrow foot, and went a half size down, and it was still too big. Both width and length. I'm stuck with trying to find a pair for trade for a full size down. I really want to be able to have these to just throw on to run some errands. But I'm afraid I'll miss out now because it was such a task to get them. I didn't get them on the first drop, and scored them on the second.
I’ve got two pairs and for me they are not comfortable at all. Been wearing them for around a month but it didn’t help. I love the look but unfortunately they are not for me.. 🙁 My feets aren’t particuarly wide, but still width of the shoe is whats bothering me.
the price are not really recommended. same with craft mars yard. they made it very limited exclusive tom sachs collab that makes it really really smells like hypebeast even though they trying too hard to make it not hypebeast and making a sturdy all terrain shoe.
While, yes, the prices are down because another colorway has dropped since the original did, I would encourage people to not buy at resell prices, since Tom Sachs has previously said there would be semi-regular restocks and new colorways of this shoe every so often. Hopefully he lives up to his promise, would love to grab a pair and beat them to death (how he wants them to be).
Surprised to hear you say that full leather is not breathable at all. Full leather shoes are very breathable due to the natural pores etc, it's one of the unique properties of the material
Nike and other companies don't use "untreated" leather, they put on a thick layer of plastic with leather texture on a very mediocre leather. So no the leather that he and we normally see on shoes is not breathable al all
@@robygt4106 making a sweeping statement on a well known breathable material such as leather is a bit misguided from Hes, I'm not a massive collector but have some very fine leather shoes from Adidas, Puma, Asics etc. Nike might use crappy leather on most of their shoes but quality leather is easy to find and the breathability is there. An OG pair of adidas sambas are cheap and made of decent leather and are super breathable, nubuck or suede is even more breathable
Hey! I ended up TTS and love these but I’m worried about them stretching out with wear and considering sizing .5 down for a different colour. Did you find they stretched a lot with wear or just regular settling in? Thanks for any advice!
