I see some valid concerns posted here related to feasibility and dangers to human life. To clarify first and foremost, the home design is not intended as a human bunker or safe space. Typical fire responses and evacuations allow time for residents to leave and safely evacuate, the difference is when you come back, with Hibertec, your home is still there in its pre fire condition. Some of the important items to understand are fire sprinklers, pools, and other methods of dispersion, chemical or water, especially with water are dependent on other sources and in most cases public services utilities and water supplies. Hibertec is self efficient and acts solely on its own merits for deploying safely underground. The utilizes are below ground and are lowered with the house on a simple cable carrier. There are no above ground services that are exposed to the elements and electric power or other is not required to lower the home when fire danger is present.
After the woolsey fires in 2018 it was apparent that there needed to be a new approach to building residences in high fire zone areas.
Years of planning, design and collaboration,we believe can help prevent major losses over time.

Wouldn’t it be easier to live somewhere else than have to bury your house

Hi All- thanks for your comments! I understand any skepticism- all of us engineers were equally suspicious 5 years ago when we began working on this revolutionary technology solution! But we have (3) patents issued now and HiberTec is the answer. To clear things up- No one rides our homes underground (our homes descend safely in minutes- no need to linger in harm’s way), and our homes will be affordable to most everyone (we have patented our streamlined hydraulics and mechanisms for our specific application costing a fraction of current hydraulics).

I think the new trend in homes will be below ground homes, homes built into a hill or under the soil.

the utilities stay above ground and get burned including the exposed gas lines?

We have a comprehensive, specific patent (already issued to us - not pending!) regarding our heavily-engineered utilities disconnect system alone! Nothing is burned, no possible spillage, completely compliant, etc.

People do not go underground in HiberTec Homes!! They don't need to. The homes retract safely and affordably underground within 15 minutes or less. Press a button and get out of harm's way!!

Way overcomplicated. People have shown that simple sprinklers that point on roof, and the vegetation around a home are enough to be effective. If they maintain water supply, this will not be an issue, plus pool water can always be used to supplement and most of these people have pools. Plus you could have your own fire water storage as well.

The city can easily replant new drought resistant plants on the hills and add sprinkler systems to ensure that the hills aren't dry. The City of LA already uses gray water to water a ton of parks and with federal funding they could do it within the next 3-5 years. It wouldn't cost much and it would help make LA's mountains beautiful again
