Great credit due to you pushing on and through. Well done. Loving the music switch
Sorry your not feeling well, just think of yourself get better. Always look forward to your videos
Owen just a few minutes in a you’ve captured the most stunning panoramas with beautiful framing. WOW, Yosemite I don’t think I’d want to leave. But it also shows in the wilderness that a slight lapse of concentration could mean medical evacuation or a 3 mile barefoot hike 😮 You got it back together though 😊👍
That was a tough couple of days for sure! 😵💫
Bears have a great sense of smell. He smelt your Brut aftershave and didn't want to mess with you.🤠
Old Spice tho, eat you toes first for that 😂
They smell poop too. I'll poop and bury it in the morning. They are out there. He is in bear territory. I say a bear today at reds. I am heading out tomorrow. I stayed here a few days. Mammoth is amazing. I ate seven pounds of steak. I've lost 30lbs. 180 to 155lbs. I am in boxing shape. At 180 I am not big. I do lift weights.
Congrats on your picture and lengthy mention in today's article on thru-hiking in the Wall Street Journal. Was leafing through my print version this afternoon and upon seeing your picture I immediately recognized LordQuiche.
Ha thanks Fitz! I didn’t realise it’s in the print edition too. I’ll have to get hold of a copy. Great to be in the WSJ!
Can you tell me what date it is please so I can track down a copy when I get home?
@@LordQuiche Today - 07/18/2022 It's in the Personal Journal Section, below the fold on pg. A13. Great job on your videos btw. I'm a bit of a pct thru-hike vlog junkie and yours certainly get high marks. Good luck the rest of the way!
@@jfitz6936 thanks 🙏
That was tough hearing your struggles Ov, had to pause the vid and take a breath! Well done on your tenacity and humour. You should be our next prime minister... Heee heeee. One thousand miles that is incredible. Keep stomping on. Brilliant filming ov.
Thanks Bippi. Feeling great now. Thanks for caring 🤩
The report from hikers up north is to keep your bear canisters at least to Truckee. The bear activity is serious up through there. 5 hikers have lost all there food to bears and had to backtrack.
Yeh I thinks it’s now mandatory north of Tahoe?
It was a bit painful to watch you struggle.....but you preserved. Once you kick your infection you'll be able to enjoy your adventure to the fullest. Life can be a struggle at times but it will make you stronger. Hang in there.
Thank you 🙏
Owen, you've had some really sucky luck lately, but I'm glad you found your shoe, glad you didn't break your leg, and so glad you are still taking the time and effort to put out such beautiful content. Hope by now your chest infx has cleared up. Your videos are top level!.
Thanks Julie! Yes thanks I’m back on form and crushing the miles! It was an awful few days and tough couple of weeks though. I can laugh now 😂
@@LordQuiche wonderful to hear 👏. PS I love the music you pair with your photos as well. This last one was stellar.
@@juliecase624 thanks Julie. I love picking out the music for the vids 🤩
If you look in your video, you did have a Halo around the sun. When u said the sun gods r with u. Glad your ok from your fall get some rest in town
Yes! I didn’t notice until I edited the video 😳
Resilience & Brilliance that’s you O! What an achievement to date be proud very proud! Love the way you edit your videos, the music and stories on this one are awesome! We’re following you all the way Dude! Stay safe! 👊
I found the bit between Mammoth and Sout Lake Tahoe the hardest part of the trail. The going is realy hard with loads of elevation gain and loss. Not sure if you've made ot to Lake Tahoe yet but after that the going is better. My shoe didn't come of in that river but I did fall in it 🤪😆.
Lol how did you fall in?? I actually face planted on a log bridge that day too but forgot about it at the time as I was semi hallucinatory 😂
The trail is bizaare. Its like a international highway.
Also the greatest time of my life Rushton 👍
Another great video. Thanks for having us along. The dry humor makes it all the better.
Thanks Chili. A little different to my usual videos! All good now though and back on form 🖖
@@LordQuiche the lost shoe and the illness are hopefully a fading memory.
here‘s to lucky escapes! This truly is what going on an adventure is about: being challenged and enduring!
And superb choice of music, I almost expected Freddie Krueger to show up wearing a backpack 😂
😂
Awesome again Owen, not to shabby for a boy from Abergavenny!!!!
There’s two other Welshies here, they’re strong and up ahead of me…
After watching this one, as another roughly your age, I can't help but feel so happy and proud for you. That was a rough stretch!
Thank you Matthew. Much appreciated. Keep moving forward!
Good job you're not a quitter! That fall was your moment, could have been the end but it wasn't so now you're going to make it I'm sure. It's so easy to fall when you're tired and ill, your concentration not 100%. Look after yourself, you've got this. Sending you a virtual pint.
Wow, what a time! But you are doing it. Music at beginning sounded a little like theme from Twilight Zone. You must have have kind of felt like it. Pulling for you!
Yeh I tried to find a piece that was evocative of how I was feeling. Thanks for always being supportive 🖖
Hi Quiche!! I've been watching your vids, sorry I haven't been commenting in a while. Got to say, the scenery is absolutely breath taking!! Truly makes me wish I had done something like this 20 years ago. Holy cow, dude.....just wow!!! You've had some rough hiking the past few vids, nearly lost a shoe, a very scary fall (must've really jarred your whole body), and all while not feeling your best. You definitely have a higher spiritual power watching over you. 1,000 miles Quiche, 1,000 miles!!!! You got this!
Woop! Just passed 2000 Ghosty x
Glad you got through that tough stretch of trail generally unscathed and met other hikers that buoyed your spirits!
Thanks Curtis. Awful at the time, great to look back on now though!
Hope you're feeling better Monsieur Mitt! May the road rise to meet you.
I told you it would be epic … get well soon Owen … inspiring videos through the Sierra 🙂👍🏼
It really was epic!
You certainly had to dig deep, what a tough few weeks. Glad your over the chest infection. Brilliant video as always.
Thanks Shaun! Feeling great now, almost at Oregon
Konnichiwa Lord Quiche!
So happy to hear in other comments that you've recovered and are crushing miles. Love the videos! The music really sets the mood. Thanks for bringing us along even when you haven't felt well. 安全第一で頑張って下さい!(Be safe and keep at it!)
What a crazy two days. Congrats on the 1000. The music perfectly illustrated the struggle. Maybe the spirit of the bear on the first day helped you to overcome each challenge….which you did. Well done.
Thanks for posting. 🤩
That music, foreboding from the start. Pretty eventful stretch eh? Osh chuffed you saw a bear on his birthday 🥳 Take it easy, Matterhorn will keep, in awe of your endurance x
Chin up Owen! Keep plugging at it
You know I will Paddy! Let’s get to Canada!
You definitely have had a rough few days Owen somebody's certainly watching over you 😉 well done on hitting 1000 miles dude 👏 👏 here's to the next 1000 😎👌
Yessir! Thanks Daz! Almost at Oregon 🤩
Aw man that was tough. 5-6 min s is going to throw up some rough days. Good luck to you. It’s epic
Yeh I was definitely on the struggle bus! Going strong again now though pal 🖖
Lately I've dropped a lot of things when that shouldn't have happened... it took a LONG time to train myself to always handle things ASSUMING a drop might happen
I’ve also found my balance has degenerated 😳
Sorry about the physical troubles. FYI: When you pan your camera at that speed, the observer's brain goes TILT!
Lol ok I’ll try and calm it down 😂
@@LordQuiche So how are you doing physically? Are you on track to continue?
@@hikerlarrypackgoaterrobins8575 yessir! I’m up at Saied Valley, hitting Oregon tomorrow 🖖
Why did you change you channel name?
So the Wall Street Journal readers can find me Osh 🖖
Oven set on full power
What a shambles 😂
@@LordQuiche doing amazing mate, see you when you get up this way with a big bag of provisions. Give me a list...
