Definitely not pulling MSRP or higher; if so in your area you should’ve shopped around. The TX in my area is selling for MSRP. I’m in the Houston market and this is or has been the hottest Lexus market in the US, not sure if it still is.

The powertrains between the 500h and 550h are quite different. The 500h is a newer 2.4 turbo 4 w/ electric motors. The 550h is the venerable 3.5 V6 w/ electric motors and a plug in system. I suspect the 550h will have better reliability with time. The system is based on the system from the last gen RX450h powertrain which was made for over 10 years and has been shown to be quite reliable over that time.
Guys if you get the gas model (350) you can get a very beautiful large sunroof that has a power shade as well. If you still want all of the quirks and features (plus sunroof) and a gas powertrain you can go for the TX 350 Luxury AWD with cold weather package , technology package, convenience package, the captain chairs, 21 speaker mark levinson to fully load it.
The Lexus TX 550h+ does not offer the option of a sunroof or a panoramic sunroof due to considerations related to weight distribution. If this feature is of interest to you, it would be necessary to explore other trim levels that provide this option.
That must only be on the high trim level. I work valet and I JUST parked a white Lexus TX with a full pano sunroof. It is definitely available on TXs I just don’t know or care what trim level.

I applaud Lexus that a sunroof isn't standard. I hate sunroofs, and I hate that they're often standard on higher trims. It hails where I live, so I don't want a glass roof, I want the cabin to be dark and cool inside, I don't want something expensive to fix that will eventually break or leak over my head, and I want the headroom. Keep them an option for those of us that don't want them.
Sounds like you have a location issue, not a sunroof issue. Keep them standard on higher trims for the vast majority of the population that likes them, and the few 'anti-roofers' out there can buy the base trim.😂
I agree. I don't like sunroofs. I don't want the sun on me and I don't need the extra ventilation. My car is the highest trim-option combo I could get without a sunroof because I wasn't going to pay for something I don't want. Sunroofs should be optional on every trim so people who don't want a sunroof aren't locked out of the good stuff because they don't want one.

Toyota/Lexus has had a stop sale on these for a while. (Problem with side airbags.) I really like the TX 550h+ for the plug in mileage and, of course, that sweet 3.5L V6 that can't be had in any other TX. Doug is the rare UA-cam reviewer who liked and, actually, understood how to use the HUD display of the TX. Cannot get middle bench in this particular model though.

I understand that people didn’t like the previous Lexus inform/Remote touch infotainment system.. however I will say the previous system was easier to use while on the road.. trying to tap an icon on the touchscreen while driving can be a little annoying having to reach for it and can cause you to veer in your lane.. I think the IS currently has the best set up with it having the touch screen as well as the touchpad

The optional sunroof is a smart decision by Lexus. I know a lot of people that don’t care for sunroofs, never open it, never open the shade. Why pay for a feature of population of buyers won’t use? I on the other hand, need a sunroof especially a panoramic
An exceptional vehicle. I especially like that there is a choice, a Toyota for 10-15k less, or a Lexus with a slightly nicer interior. But in both cases you get an exceptional family vehicle.

So to put out some clarification because I spent enough time not having a life to know this.. the Lexus line largely comes with a sunroof as standard, however you can special option them to be a slick top if you are so inclined for what ever reason.. it’s a no cost thing but it’s an option none the less.
4 wheel drive on base TX350 is mechanical. On the hybrids they call it "Direct 4" because it's all electric. The 4 cylinder powers the front wheels with electric assist and the rear wheels are powered by electric motors only. I've got 22,000 mile on mine and so far so good. One quirk is that I average 24.6 mpg and after a fill up it says i have a 385 mile range. That implies I have 14.6 gallons but it has a 17 gallon tank. Odder still, when at empty, 0 mile range, I've never put in more than 12.5 gallons. Go figure.

Since you can't see the heads-up display with sunglasses on, the results of the 2 unlabeled buttons on the steering wheel will require the driver to 1. remove sunglasses, 2. put sunglasses down somewhere, 3. find the correct selection on the HUD, 4. find sunglasses again, 5. put sunglasses on. Worst idea since new Coke.

I am a Lexus Tech. Direct 4 means direct injection for 4 cylinders. Since it is PHEV electric motors are directly powered to the wheels.
