Edwin's greatest qualities were communication and organisation. He controlled that defense better than anyone could imagine. He was a top goalkeeper in every way, but he often didn't have to do much because of how organised everyone in front of him was

VDS didn't need to be the best shot stopper (and he was a very good one) because his ability to organise and Marshall his defenders was top notch. IMHO it's what De Gea lacks the most.
Key factor is that he wasn’t organising an ordinary defence, on their own they were world class too. We have players in the centre of defence that don’t even scan over their shoulders to know where each are, that’s not the job of the keeper. For me as a kid it was taffarel lol
a legend brought from Fulham to cheap bargain to man united
with the training thing, theres very very few outfield players that can or even want to train extremely light. hazard is the only true example that springs to mind, he never tries even 75% in training from what ive heard/seen. literally doesnt lace his boots up 🤣
Took till 6:57 of a 8:30 video to mention van der sar 👁👁
Who was 2 and 1?
Bale, ronaldinho, romario, ronaldo(brazil), george best rarely trained. Some people are just damn good at football
I love Goldstein on here, doesn't care about asking any question🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Top guy💪
Foster is so damn funny and cool 😅😅👏
Gonna guess its
5.Allison
4.ederson
3. Seaman.
2. Van Der Saar
1. Schmeichel.
So interesting to listen to
Its crazy he still holds the record for most consecutive minutes without conceding a goal, especially with how dominant city and liverpool have been
Good fact,. Just saw a video on it, and Cech has 3 stints that are in the top 10
@@nathijomac Thought it'd be more Mid 2000s Cech was not letting anything in
VdS and Cech were a tier above the rest. For me VdS just pips it because at 41 he was still playing at the highest level of football (UCL final) whereas Cech at 35-36 began declining and was at a mid table Arsenal. Not to mention, VdS was great at playing out from the back before it was “cool” (since 1995 with Ajax when they won the UCL)
Watching football Italia on channel 4 in my youth, I always admired Angelo Peruzzi - IMO
Who is the 2nd and 1st?
Bent writing the list as Foster speaks
In hindsight Man Utd then should have gone all out to sign Edwin van der Sar after Schmeichel left.
Definitely! May have won more champions league’s if they had.
He would have been in the arguments of greatest premier league keepers ever withe Cech and Schmeichel if we got him right after he left Juve, I cant believe he played for Fulham for 4 years
Wait who was his 1st and 2nd lol the video ended lol
ben was very under rated unbeatable on his day
