Hi Sam I love Simple Life Fabrics but if I want a bigger choice I look at Fabric Godmother, Guthrie & Ghani and Lamazi, there remnant selection is normally good 😊
Thank you for such a good video. I'm definitely going to try those online shops. My favourite online (and 'in real life') shop is Jenny Stitches. She stocks a good range of top quality fabrics at reasonable prices, I've never had a fabric from her that I wasn't delighted with. The fabrics arrive beautifully wrapped in purple tissue paper, with a handwritten note. The outer packaging is study paper (no plastic!). Visiting the shop is a joy, Jenny is helpful and knows her stuff 😊. It was worth a 4 hour drive to visit 😂. And she does a live Instagram every Friday at 5pm, where she shows us the latest fabrics and even suggests fabrics if someone asks .
Thank you for sharing your favourite online fabric stores, my favourite fabric store is 1st for Fabrics which is close to where I live, I also love Simple Life Fabrics ❤❤
Hi Sam, loved your vlog, as usual. My favourite place to shop for fabric is an in person shop Neil’s Fabrics, a stall on Milton Keynes market. I do like to feel the fabrics and the £1 a metre bins (headstock) are such good value.
So far my favourite shop has been abakhan…I love touching all the fabrics..oh and pulling out a remnant which is pay by weight; then holding my breath to see if I can afford it! It’s even better when not only I can but it’s a bargain! My dislike of online is the advertising….i always think the price is per m then I find out it’s of half, or worse; a quarter! I have never ordered from miss sunshine but continually watch their website as I’ve heard such good reviews…she will be my next port of call when I’ve got through my wips.
Hi Sam, gotta say Pound Fabrics, photos of fabric are very accurate and rarely do fabrics differ from them, price and delivery always good and often surprised that quality is better than thought 😊
Hi Sam. Happy Sunday! Wonderful collection of small businesses. Even though I'm in the US, I buy the majority of my fabrics from Europe. I can't pick a favorite because I shop at various shops for specific reasons. Here's a small list of favs: Maison Fauve in France, The Fabric Store Online in New Zealand, Beyond The Pink Door, Guthrie & Ghani, Sew Me Sunshine in the UK, Mood Fabrics in the US, and Core Fabrics (the fabric side of Closet Core Patterns) in Canada. Congratulations on taking your Channel to the next level!
I love visiting Fabric Corner Lincoln. Lots of lovely fabrics at reasonable prices. Workshops for various sewing journeys- beginners, intermediates, advanced, quilting, sewing socials and a whole lot more. Kay, the owner, is always happy to help with sewing queries. Crafty Cafe next door always has great cakes too! Well worth a trip.
Congrats on your £5k+ subscribers. Great selection of favric shops there, some of my favourites and two i've never heard of. Two other fav online shops of mine are Jenny Stitches and Beyond the Pink Door.
I’m not sure I can pick a favourite fabric shop - I love so many! I do love Simple Life Fabrics, but there’s also Jenny Stitches and Merry Maid Fabrics x
Thanks for sharing Sam. I use Pound Fabrics, occasionally Guthrie and Ghani but mainly Sarah at Simple Life Fabrics as she has a great choice of quality fabrics at reasonable prices 😊
Hi Sam 😁👋 thanks for sharing your favourite small fabric businesses, definitely some I haven't heard of. My absolute favourite fabric store is Stitch Fabrics run by the lovely Geoff, Sam and Jenni also known as M Rosenberg & Son They have a warehouse in South Woodford in Essex, they sell online and they have a travelling fabric show that travels up and down the country in-between showing at most of the big sewing exhibitions across the country. They sell designer dead stock along with fine Italian fabrics. Thanks for your super vlogs👏👏
Happy Sunday. My favourite fabric shop is only 5 minutes from my house! The Quilting Bee in Llandudno North Wales. The owner is super helpful and so knowledgeable sewing classes run upstairs. It’s just great!!
A couple of those are new to me, thanks for sharing. And I'm going to recommend Rosie at Sew Eco Fabrics who is lovely and sells beautiful, thoughtfully chosen fabrics and great patterns. Congratulations on the 5K
My favorite shop in the US is Hobby Lobby because they have a good selection of fabrics, plus their 40% off fabric sales are fantastic and quite often.
Thank you for the new business tips, I absolutely love Legend Texstiles, on line and in person in the store in Thetford Norfolk, customer service is fantastic, Josh is such a nice young man.
Love your faves (many of which are mine too). But I also like Guthrie & Ghani who have beautiful fabrics, again where you often don't see anywhere else.
Love Fabrics Galore, have bought from them for years as a Patchworker and a dressmaker, also bought some bits from Simple LIfe fabrics, both excellent quality. Its been great watching your channel grow x
Thanks for sharing the fabric shops on line, some I had heard of but some not. I certainly like the thought of their own printed stock. Congratulations on your subscriber numbers but I not surprised as you are also jolly and informative x
Love your videos! 😍 I thrift a lot of fabrics and love remnants too! The closest fabric shop for me is JoAnn Fabrics about half hour away. They have an online option but I usually just visit the shop to avoid shipping. Your 5 shops look pretty good! 👍☺️. Will check them out soon. Thanks so much for sharing your makes and plans... it's very inspiring!! Can't wait to see what you make next! 🌺🌻🌹🌼💐🥰
Thankyou for sharing these .. 3 out of the 5 are new to me so I’ve some happy shopping ahead . The online shops I love are stitch fabrics and I’ve discovered a Belgium deadstock outlet ‘ wasted fabrics ‘ . Best of luck with your venture
Hi Sam, great vlog. I've never used any of the 5 online stores you mentioned, I'm going to be busy browsing later. I use a shop near where I work called The Remanent House (Bude, Cornwall). The people who run it are always ready to help. Thanks for always being so informative. Roll on the next 5000 subscribers. 😊
Thanks for another fabulous vlog Sam, it’s always great to get recommendations and reminders about small businesses! I can second Fabrics Galore. My other favourites are Blackbrid Fabrics, and Fabcycle in Vancouver, Canada is also a great place to pick up deadstock that they rescue from fabric and garment manufacturing and save from going into landfill. Great bargains on quality fabric to be had there and the stock is always changing.
Hi Sam, i use all the dhops you have mentioned except moonbow, which i have not heard of. Simple life fabrics is one of my new favourites since discovering last year😊
A lovely video which has introduced me to two more shops - thank you. I love the Fabric Godmother shop but buy waaaay too much from them so it great to have some new sources to go to!
I loved this video, such interesting choices of fabric that I haven’t seen before. I live in a small town on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada and have never experienced buying fabric online. I plan to look at each of these online fabric stores. Thank you again for sharing!
Unfortunately it’s a fabric shop desert where I live but luckily there’s so many great online ones. I’ve bought a lot from Rainbow fabrics but I also love the look of Simple Life Fabrics. I’m definitely going to check it out. 😊
I do love simple fabrics but i also love The fabric Boutique in Ashby as its local to me and I do love to feel the fabric . Thanks for the video very informative x
Hi Sam thanks for the giveaway, I have a few favourites - pound fabrics, Jenny stitches, beyond the pink door and World of Fabrics in Cheltenham (actual shop)
I split my time between the UK and France and so buy from both places. In the UK I love Lamazi but also Pound Fabrics and Minerva. In France I buy from Coupons de St Pierre in Paris and Rascol. I have recently bought some gorgeous fabric from a new company called Maison Bloom Mood and I will definitely go back there. One of my favorite shops is Minerva. I do have to watch what I purchase because I've bought some things that weren't what I thought. I love shopping local here in the US. JoAnn's is going out of business. I do buy some from quilt shops just so I can buy in person.
Great vlog, I love to shop from Fabrics Galore both online and at the shows. I can confirm that, in the very rare event, there is something not quite right with a sew me sunshine order they rectify it immediately with no quibbles at all. I already have a few items in sew simple life basket, having discovered them recently. I also love Beyond the Pink Door x
