This scene doesn’t have the same feel in the book. In the book it was so absolutely unheard of to even shove another member of the clan. Any act of violence upon each other was unthinkable. Their entire survival depended on their cooperation and even when they had disputes they were settled in other ways. Everyone was so taken back they couldn’t believe what happened
No creo que pudieran hacer la primera película muy exacta, al menos no en el tema de la concepción de Durc, ya que canónicamente nació cuando Ayla tenía once años, y fue concebido teniendo ella diez. Habría más de un problema si esto se hiciera hoy xd
@@seanocarraigh7064 Well things like that actually happened in antiquity. It's not so much that one wants to "watch" it happen. Just maybe find a way to (gently) "semi" show that things like that happened and are a part of what allowed us as modern humans to be here today. I've read the books. Alya is a strong "no F**8 with" character that has compassion. She learned those traits (unfortunately) through difficulties, not entitlement.
@@JackSnow02517 Imagine the archeological history, plant and animals, healing, and foraging, all that could be educational and given the current archeological finds recently, it could be very exciting.
A TV series perhaps, but they would never hold true to the tale as it isn't exciting" enough", probably even as a series of movies. One thing is for sure is that they'd need to leave out pretty much all of the herbal lore etc. as it's bad enough getting through that in the books. especially in The Plains of Passage. Mind you I wouldn't mind a little bit of poetic license to see it being brought to life.
Waitwaitwait, isn't Ayla supposed to be seven or eight at this point in the book? Why on earth is she being portrayed by someone who's at least in their mid twenties?
The reason Daryl is so old is that they can't exactly show the rape scene with a 10 year old. Besides, back then 10 was the same as our 20, 20 the same as our 50 or 60, and NO ONE made it to 60. I'm 55 and would be already dead of old age in their world.
Actually, didn't the book make a point of conveying that the Neanderthals matured more quickly? Yes? Because Homo Sapiens are the more intelligent species, they take longer to reach maturity due to the longer duration of brain development. Hence, Neanderthals reach sexual maturity earlier but are less intelligent.
Sorry David, but the hominin fossil record disagrees. We've got multiple examples of individuals who lived well into their 60s, even with long healed and disabling fractures. We have one homo erectus (likely a man) who had no teeth, he'd lost his teeth so long before his death that the sockets had healed over.
i watched that movie when i was very young, i think i didn't even knew how to read subtitles, so under 8, im 27 now. it made such a big impression that from time to time this scene pops in my mind, but i never knew title of a film. good thing google i a thing, i found the title in matter of minutes. now i have to find a way to watch it
My and our access to presence of space is there. Non there is also change and if there's change, then doesn't our logic prevent us from being balanced?
I just watched the movie again - it helped that Ive read the books several times. Does anyone remember a version where Jondalar puts in an appearance at the end? Am I confusing this with another movie?
I only read the book "The Mammoth Hunter" and love it, I want to read the saga, but I can't find the books, until now I didn't know about the movie, I regret my spelling I hope you understand me. And help me find the books. octuber 01 2020
@@aladrasullivan9018no, they literally couldn’t do that. There brains were wired differently then H.sapiens, reuskitng in different behaviour and body language. They could still feel the same emotions we could, but they conveyed them differently then we would, hence why they don’t really smile. They don’t laugh because they don’t have a concept of jokes
Why? Just because they didn't have bathtubs or showers doesn't mean they didn't keep clean. In the books Ayla regularly washes in either streams, rivers or a bowl, and uses soaproot to lather up with. Later on in the books she learns how to make soap from the Mamutoi.
Thank God, this is another part. I readed the book and I've to be honest: I really HATE this story, especially for the rape's part. After that I didn't sleep the night
The first book was so good, before they turned the series into a paleo porn. This movie is terrible, miscasting, bad adaptation, nothing to do with the original story. At least for someone that has read the book. If I hadn't read it first maybe I'd have been more generous, I know I'm biased.
I've always loved this movie since I was young..⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m glad a read Auel’s book.
I have all the Books and have read them several times over.
reading this again at moment. wish it was on blu ray and they made a tv show.
I remember reading the books when i was 12, had forgotten about this movie

I was given this name, my dad fell in love with the name Ayla
+Ayla Mendoza Same actually hahah :)
My parents gave me this name too! But they put in a "h" in the end of it. So my name is Aylah! ^^
(I'm from Sweden.)
you girls are destined to be surrounded by neanderthals.
be choosey.
Your name makes me wanna poop.
I named my female cat Ayla, she's sooooo sweet. I love her dearly. She looks Siamese, she's beautiful.
I named my daughter Ayla from this story. She is now 26 years old. I first read it 3 years before her birth.
Ayla is a great name!
I'd love it if new movies were made of these books, but actually followed the books and made the characters their correct ages.

Well in the book she's raped and gets pregnant aged 10. I don't think they could really do that as a film.
I would too

why do you wanna see a 10 year old get assaulted...

Idk why everyone complains about the movie, I thought it was pretty good
I wish they had made all the 6 novels into sequential movies.

Shellie Archibald They're all way too old.
Shellie Archibald Is it just me or does Brun look a little old for eleven, too?
Amanda Spacaj-Gorham Je mean Broud? Brun was the clan leader...
+Shellie Archibald 'cause they needed to show titties. Stone-Age feminism, vs dumb Neanderthals. Thank God cinema was saved any sequels.
There's always some differences in movies based off the books.
This film reminds me of my town when some slightly different visits it !
my Wife and I Both Read All Your Cool Novels! Thxs.

I was named after the character in this movie 😊
so is my sister, and my sister even has, blue eyes, and blonde hair.
I was named after penises.
Where's Jondular
ITS A LOVELY NAME. MY FRIEND LIKES IT TOO. AND WE ARE OLD LADIES.
so was i omg!
i want to see the movie can someone uploaded it?
So… Neanderthals with haircuts from the 80s?
Seriously, that's hilarious!

I like the french horn music, not doubt played by the legendary Hollywood horn player, Vince DeRosa
Staggering they were still playing upon Kubrick's opening scene in 2001 here...
I wish I could stream this somewhere :(
Prime video luv
How did Ayla cut her bangs?
A flint knife?
that's the scene I wanted to see. thanks
Hits hi-hi!
Kindness isn't the sun's goal yet we benefit.

Nothing has really changed here ! ;-)

I've never seen that but, I really wish that would have happened.
Jondarlah doesn't come into the story until the second book .
Jondalar no aparece hasta el segundo libro. Y creo que no se cruza con Ayla hasta que no pasa más de la mitad de ese segundo libro xd
I just came to see a bear attack

Kindle and Audiobooks has them :)
Hey! The clan doesn’t laugh or smile!
Would you if you lived like that? 🤷♂️

È possibile avere questi filmati in lingua italiana
watching the movie again, it seems like all the young men look like Sergio Ramos
I don't know but this movie seems boring as hell. I have read the books and I love them. But this doesn't seem very interesting.
It's probably because the dialogue is "silent" so we don't get to know what's going on. In the book, the author tells us what's going on.
2021?
Oh, Daryl.
Recently finished this book which inspired some fan art i made.
Wow! Please upload a picture of your art :-)
I named my dog Ayla
This is so bad, the book is much much beter
ikr they should remake the movie

Hygiene for chicks would have been a challenge in those times..
Keeping the coochie clean and fresh...

Wouldn’t give this movie another glance after seeing the trailer
Nobody GAF!
Thank God, this is another part. I readed the book and I've to be honest: I really HATE this story, especially for the rape's part. After that I didn't sleep the night
I hope you go back to it and read books 2 through 6. Ayla's tale gets much better.
Rape was common then so
Broud was a horrible loser ugh
Neanderthals were blond too, were they not?
That was also my question - did blondes exist at this point?
Spoiler
Yes, in book 4 The Plains of Passage
Yep in The Plains of Passage Ayla and Jondalar encounter a Clan man with a broken leg, and his mate, who has a head of fluffy blonde curls.
Maybe. Some even had red hair.
The books are wonderful. Was ver disappointed in the movie
I was disappointed with the last 2 books.
SanFranGirl1982 I couldn't even finish the last book. I tried but I would lose interest.
I could never get into the Last book
Is the movie all the books put together? Or just the first book
Madison!
Pasemos el link de la película
Nice
I didn't know Neanderthals used slings. I thought only Sapiens used those.
The books were fascinating. This movie is so bad 😂
Listening to this on Audio book and it's gripping but this movie is a poor facsimile of the book.
Bom até mais ok
the ancient caveman wyipipos origins😂😂😂😂
Alesha Shelley damn right we started off just like you but advanced past you people the reason you are o. the internet right now
And now using "whypipo" internet and a "whypipo" computer while talking shit in a "whypipo" language with a "whypipo" name funny that
I remember my friend's dad watching this movie. There was lots fof caveman rape.
So what do you guys think do you think prehistoric man waited until their women were 18 before they bred with them?
I'm ml ml

OMG. I remember now how stupid the story was.
Such a disgrace of a movie! Bad actress, to old. Netflix, here is a challenge for you!
