Hey Maney, Youve got some older birds that your trying to rehome. Even if they have theyre own perch the older ones probably still won’t come back. Let them sit for a bit and throws some nest bowls on the floor and have the older pairs nest up, I’m sure they’ll come back for sure. But if not I’m sure once you let them fly your gonna lose 5-6 of your older birds, the older birds like to take off.
Greetings to you, my friend First, you had to teach them to enter through the gate at the age of 35 or 40 days, so that it would be easier because the bathroom at this age was more intelligent and receptive to learning. Now you have more patience. I lock them outside the loft with this outer box and promises them to starve until they enter quickly. And the bird who is late to enter, do not give him food, you will find the next day the first bird to enter the gate hunger raises pigeons Greetings to you from Iraq What kind of device did you buy my friend, I mean the brand? German or Belgian?

Hi Maney, I think you should put a small strip by the wires, i see one looks likes its stuck, you don't want the birds to struggle to get in on race day seeing that the ets is on the inside.
Hello, my name is Alzival Rabelo. I'm from Salvador-Bahia-Brazil. I’ve been following your channel for a while. Your pigeons are beautiful, I also had pigeons. A big hug!
Hi Maney. I wouldn't let the older birds out yet. Especially if they've flown out at home. Get them on at least 2 rounds of sqeakers first. Is this your 1st year of racing.. are you racing on your own. Or do yous have a flying partner.
I always enjoy your videos, Kurt. Your loft is really nice and your carpenter work is very neat. I love to watch the birds. I can't whistle, so, I used to rattle grain in a tin can to signal my birds. That was forty years ago when I had birds. At 72, I can just dream of having birds again. Thank you for making these videos on UA-cam. I enjoy watching and learning from you.
Wonderful birds are looking good try putting them out more at the evening time feed them light in the morning dont over feed and and put them out more at dawn time best time to train young birds but keep up the good work your awesome😎
Have you thought about putting their landing platform on hinges to close access to bobs when not in use? I had the same setup and mine figured out how to move a wire enough to get out on their own. I also use it to ensure hawks and kestrels don’t get in
@@ManeyPigeons I made mine out of 1/4” square wire and boardered with scrap wood. That way when it’s up, they can still see through and get a draft, but when down, they can see through it to the ground and perches
Mine did the same even without benefit of platform inside to stand on. If one sees it. They'll fly by themselves, eat off ground, puddled water. Biological hazards
Hi mate, what did I tell you last week about the most unlikely bird in my grandfathers loft coming back first !! It may not happen in your training tosses or race days but at least I got part of it right ha ha. The birds are still getting used to things but great job thanks.
Utilize entire landing board. They should be able to access landing and drop in on their own. Have a larger cover that's not a box but angled from roof to front of landing. I saw this situation at other location. Physically placing each bird on landing to "train" is way to much work. They should do it automatically by themselves. Preferably with exit above traps to drop onto deck, then use traps to enter. Much more weather tight. Bath them on landing also. With large screen. Launching close to the ground is not advisable , potential for ambush and leaping cats etc. . They launch from transport elevated. They can have feathers damaged catching Individually. It's got to be easy. They need to be happy. Laying in sun on landing wings stretched after bath. Hatch doors to close them in inclement weather.
Allow the birds to come in through the trap without the wire as you did in the end. Give them a chance to get accustom to how they should enter the loft. Then you can let them come through the wire. It will be alot easier and quicker for them.
I would put the clock on the outside and remove the plank on the inside then they can dive down directly. Some other birds will go sit on that plank and then block the entrance for incoming birds.
Hay Kurt I would have put them in a smaller viewing box and maby starve them a bit more, maby 1 to 1 and a 1/2 table spoon full per bird feed, they will come in quick enough then.
Remember to have the chip rings allocated to your racing clock before testing the clock and the rings. It may otherwise seem like the whole thing is not working. Someone else who has the club clock can help you with that. Once all the ring details are in your own clock you can attach the chip rings to the birds/or test them. Therefore also make a list of all your birds details : life ring number, colour and gender. These details will also be required by the person programming your clock to your chip rings. Have fun with far tosses later when the birds beat you home and you can see exactly who arrived when.
Why not leave the bob wires up ans let them go in through the open hole and then let the wires down and they will naturally push their way through the wires?
Please have patience before you start flying your pigeons. Let them see the surroundings from the training box to know the location/address of your loft & the pigeons register the address, so you loose lesser pigeons. After 3 to 4 weeks, let them explore the roof & the area of the loft.
maney you got to many perches the motivation to get back is also for the best perch, i aways fly with one less perch than the amount of pigeons in the loft last on back gets to sit on the floor
Your loft is spacious & very good. Yr efforts now in trap training & knowing the surroundings is important
yes must put in plenty of effort to get them ready
Don't be disappointed, for me every day you bring a joy... I think birds are really enjoying new environment.
yes i think they are and are keen to explore the new skies!
This was useful as I have some happy pet pigeons in an aviary that go out to fly, I need to make a bob wire door for them next 🕊️
Clever little feral :) Looks like they were enjoying sitting in the trap you made them.

Good innovation on trap door ... antenna and chip should read thru board ... I guess there not that hungry enough to push thru ... 😉

Take the inside board out ..they need to be able to put there heads through and see there floor and food and perchs...👍
i agree with removing the board. perhaps the taurus needs to be outside the trap door.
@@kennynang9417 it would be rule breaker. Depending on the club hes in.
Also, i think not. Maybe a bit smaller
@@sluvvr You are right that you have to be compliant to the club rules. I guess small changes at a time may be good for the birds.

as @moatside said :)

I would leave the bobs up so the birds can go back outside and look out up to the sky and all around. Then they would know that's the way to drop in.
