The correction was done with much better visual graphics and better explanation. Thanks a lot HAAS.

9:18 I would suggest quickly moving from one position to another by using the ratchet not the thimble. Mituyoyo call the ratchet a 'ratchet speeder' for this reason.

user-vy2jr4kp4k, Определенно прошло много времени с тех пор, как мы публиковали Совет дня. Но на самом деле мы сейчас монтируем видео TOD. Скоро должно выйти!

"meter" in this sense means "measurement".
"metre" is the SI length standard.

Is there a point in having a 0.01mm graduated micrometer if you have digital calipers with 0.01mm resolution? Not really a proper machinist, but I don't see the benefit. You can even get digital calipers with 0.001mm accuracy, doesn't that make 0.01mm micrometers obsolete?

jort93z, Remember there is a difference between graduation/resolution and actual accuracy. If you check the technical details pages for both the 0.01mm micrometer and the 6” digital caliper you’ll see they both do indeed have 0.01mm graduation for the micrometer and 0.01mm resolution for the caliper.
However the micrometer has an accuracy of +/- 0.004mm and the caliper has an accuracy of +/-0.02mm. In other words the micrometer is 5 times more accurate than the caliper. These values are typical of quality instruments in these two categories. Take a close look at the specs for the “0.001mm accuracy” calipers you’ve found. That is most likely a resolution value instead. If not they are probably very expensive calipers.

And yet another difference between accuracy, repeatability and resolution!
Micrometers have greater repeatability than calipers of the same resolution and accuracy.@@haasautomation
