Eps 27 - Touring Alor - Riding Around Alor Kecil - Around Indonesia on my Small Motorcycle

- This episode of my Grand Motorcycle trip around Indonesia, takes us around the peninsula of Alor Kecil, north of the city of Kalabahi. While the road is generally in decent shape, there were a few parts which were unpaved with gravel and sand but overall, a very nice road with some brilliant views. I was hoping to find a few beaches where I could go snorkelling but it just didn't happen and in the end, I again ended up racing against the sun to find a spot to pitch my tent. I eventually did, on a beach where a crew of sand smugglers did their work for half the night. This episode was relatively uneventful, with no drama, no suspense, and no tragedy. Just a nice ride on a beautiful coastal road. I hope you enjoy the video, and if you do, please comment and subscribe, and don't forget...Life's a Journey...so...Ride On!

@@campervansulawesi7415 terima kasih pak!!
Your Bahasa Indonesia is SO GOOD!
Naaah, masih belum lancar, hehe
Sand smugglers hey very interesting
Yeah, have you heard about that before? Is it not illegal to take sand from beached?
Nice video👍
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!
Sand smugglers 😂.! I heard Alor has ikat nearly as good as Sumba.
Hehe, not sure what else to call them. Not even sure if it’s illegal or not, but they sure seemed well organized! I’ve not seen ikat around here yet, but it’s possible. I know Lembata has good ikat as well!
Kalabahi looks a lot more developed now in terms of infrastructure. Pertamina petrol station and very large store - but zero tourism it seems. Your trip is of great interest to me.
Yeah, one thing I’m noticing though. I find kids more likely to see a foreigner and immediately ask for money. They often see and approach me with a hand outstretched saying:”money, money, mister”. I’ve not seen that anywhere else on this trip so far. Not sure why here, and why so much if it.
@@jekyllsride I encountered it once in Flores. I've heard it is pretty common in places visited by cruise ships.
Enjoy Indonesia
Thanks!’
