Can you clarify what you mean by reverse alignment indicator readings? Are the indicators mounted on the moveable shaft instead of the fixed? Or are the readings zeroed opposite to what I did?
You could use a straight edge and feeler gauge to find the offset misalignment instead of a dial indicator. Just remember that when you do it that way, the value that you get is the actual misalignment so doesn't require devision by 2. However, if you use a dial indicator, divide your rim reading by 2 to get actual offset misalignment. I hope this helps.
