We were so excited when we finally found it. A little, old house in a quiet neighborhood in Houston. It was a fixer upper, but we saw the potential. We imagined cozy evenings by the fireplace, a beautiful garden out back, and a kitchen where we could cook up delicious meals.
We thought we had planned everything out. We had a budget, a timeline, and a vision. But as soon as we started tearing down walls, we realized we had no idea what we were getting into. There were hidden problems, unexpected costs, and a whole lot of stress.
