Massive achievement to have written a big scale sonata in such quality, Thanks for sharing as always Trevor:) Really makes it easier to listen to the whole work and truly appreciate what you have written! Bravo!
@@kofiLjunggren Thanks so much for noticing the structure! It's very motivically dense, and the goal was for it to be more or less completely based on the first two movements, while developing them and also being a complete sonata form in itself. :)
@@trevorsabourin5761I dont if I’ve mentioned it before, your music is very reminiscent of Brahms! As it’s quite complex when you hear it for first time but it gets very rewarding after a couple of listenings as you can grasp all the small details and then fully appreciate the music! I hope you understand what I’m trying to say;)
@@kofiLjunggren Wow, Kofi, thank you so much! I absolutely adore Brahm's music, and that is a massive compliment! As a side note, a couple of my favourite pieces to play (that I somewhat mastered, at one point anyway) are the two Op. 79 Rhapsodies, they are so broad, fiery, and broody... Thanks again for all the kind words, it means a lot! :)
Very impressive first movement and that opening figure is cohered throughout the movement with some nice modulation. The texture, use of polyrhythms and the motivic usage is as you want to achieve Brahmsian, congrats on that! Nice Rachmaninovian melody for the third movement! Great contrast of texture throughout the movement. Congrats on finishing this! Henry
Thank you so much, Henry! I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to the whole thing, and your kind words. Brahms and Rachmaninoff are definitely a couple of my favourite composers, so that is a huge compliment. I'm glad you caught the insistence of the opening motif! The third movement is also based entirely on the first and second themes of the first movement, along with material from the second movement. Thanks again!

And I especially adore the last movement! You really out did yourself in structure and form, masterful!
