Sounds really good for a 6 cylinder and now I'm interested. Did you see any difference in the performance of the Jeep, or was it mainly just the sound that was improved?? I'm hoping you had a noticeable difference in performance. I'd like to reap both benefits.
Thanks for this upload bro! The muffler on my J/k rusted out and my old lady took it today and they quoted her $500 at Meineke to fix it to stock settings. I never paid that much for the custom exhaust work on my muscle cars! I’ll definitely be buying this outlaw and installing it myself! Thanks!
Installed mine about 4 months ago and it’s already rusting out where the hangers are welded. Almost entirely driven on roads and only about a week of snowy weather with salt on the ground. Sounds great but if it can’t hold up, I’ll have to put the old muffler back on
great video and this sounds best by far. It would be nice to see this installed with a resinator delete also and compare the two different sounds. Thanks for this video.
Congrats on your exhaust & install! I recently installed a Rough Country axle back & it sounds amazing! I used WD-40 on my hangers & exhaust remover tool, was a breeze. I noticed you had to use those silver o-rings to keep the new exhaust on hangers. On my RC axle back it had sturdy/durable widened tips so it already secured it. Plus it was only $300 for the RC! I like your Flowmaster... but I'm amazed with this RC axle back for the price & sound. I also have a 2016 JKU. Love Jeep Nation!!
Installed it today. LOVE IT. It's loud but not overwhelming, starting it up with that growl is where it's at. Thanks for all the info, used this for the install. One thing, the stop washer keeps falling off so I had to use a standard washer and hose clamp to keep the damn thing on.
neil12011 - yeah... my stop washer was too big too... had to smash that bastard down with a hammer / finally got snug... Good idea using the clamp! 👍👍👍 I will prolly add one to mine for extra security. Thanks brutha.
Great video and can't wait to use your advice. I had the Gibson Performance setup on my 2014 JK and loved it, but kinda deep down inside, wanted something even a little deeper. So on my new project, a 2016 JKU Rubicon, I'm doing the Flowmaster Outlaw. We will see how it goes this weekend!
Just installed mine and let me tell you how much of a pain in the ass the stock exhaust is to get off. Once installed, I had a bit of trouble keeping the clamp and tips tight. Other than that this thing is awesome. Might get it welded on to keep everything in place.
Great video, I watched this several times. Just did the install on mine. Only thing I did differently was I took the resignator off.. Thanks for the video. Awesome sound
More videos on this thing. Sounds good to me on video. Guessing it's better in person. I like the aggressive sound. How do others like it that you run into ? Looking for some pipes myself. Thanks.
Liveit up - I love it... it sounds nasty in person. It is not really loud, just loud enough to turn heads... but it's the tone! The tone is nasty! Aggressive! I am very happy for the money spent vs product. Thanks- Take care man
Tom megargee - Thanks man! You will love it. I get 50/50 comments on here... if you want mild / aggressive this is the exhaust for you all day long. Seems a lot of people only want to hear their exhaust when they rev hard. And silent when they drive. I am use to louder exhaust.. muscle cars and motorcycles.... If you wanna swag around the neighborhood... this will snap necks. I pulled up to a mustang and challenger... they were messing with each other at a red light. I told the wife, watch this... and rev’ed the jeep. Lmao 😂 the were both just sitting there looking at the jeep like what the hell is in that thing. LOVE IT! - take care.
Had mine for about 6 months, after that I couldnt take the drone inside the cab around 2k rpms. The drone really got to me :( Loved it while it was on though, very aggressive!
Great video brother, I think I'm hooked. I've been debating what to buy, MBRP, Flowmaster, Pypes, Borla, Magnaflow. But now after reading reviews and watching videos I think I love this Flowmaster, has a great sound, not too loud and not too low, just right, and doesn't sound like a Honda. Hows the paint holding up on the exhaust? Thats probably the biggest issue many people are complaining about, the paint not holding up.
The paint for me is no issue at all unless you rough it up on install. I still stand by this product. Love it. Love the tone.... best of luck man, take care.
Magnaflow ALL the WAY my man! Why do you want your Jeep to sound like a modified Honda Civic? Flowmaster is what you put in a cheap car and want to make it sound loud... Magnaflow is QUALITY! If you want your Jeep to sound POWERFUL instead of LOUD, go with MAGNAFLOW (part #15160). Thank me later.
Stanley Joseph - you get a definite throttle response and little harder pull at highway speed. Nothing crazy powerful, but you will notice a difference... just gotta add that I also put an intake on at the same time, so I don’t know about just the exhaust. I posted that intake video too. Take care man! Best of luck!
Thanks, I viewed your video many times, then did my own Jeep. Love these pipes, sound really nice! Took me a lot longer to get my friggin old exhaust off😠 but worth it now
Great video but it doesn't give justice to the sound this axleback provides. I have it on my 2007 JKU and it sounds awesome. Keep the Jeep wave alive!!!
Damn! I want this mod next instead of the new hood and fenders I wanted. But is it worth installing on a 08 Wrangler with 120k miles on it? Idk how much life is left in it.
Do you have an annoying drone at all? I have a loud drone and I have a 2014 jeep polar 4 door. Great video though without it I would have never been able to put it on!
Brian, do you have the loud drone noise at 2000 rpms? i seem to get a loud drone when cruising on highway or backroads if the rpms sit around 2000. I'm sure i will get used to it, but its definitely louder than everyone's videos on line. Love the external sound, just gotta see if i will get used to internal noise over time.
There can be a loud drone stuck in a specific rpm.... I just change it. Swap gears, or give / cut gas, and move on. (Depending on manual vs auto trans.) This is and always will be one of the more aggressive exhausts. Any rpm that low (under 3 grand) is gonna be sending didgeridoo sounds out of the exhaust. Also the tone will change when the exhaust is burnt in. When you learn the tones and rpms- you can play with the sound.... Kinda boils down to are you ok with riding a Harley?...Or you wanna tone it down? Thanks man. Take care!
@@BrianEaly pretty much what i thought. gonna keep it for a while to see if i can live with it as my daily driver. Thanks for the tutorial. Used this to install the Flowmaster Outlaw on my 16 Wrangler WW.
