Thank you for the excellent video. Much appreciated. My ancestors came from the Palitinate area of Germany to Eastern Pennsylvania (Franklin County) in late 1600s. I got to visit what was left of Fort Stover in 1984. Pretty amazing history,

The HRE in 1709 funding wars through wealth confiscation and inflationary fiscal policy, sounds like the USA in 2023.

Thank you for this excellent video. I have about 15% Palatine - Pennsylvania Dutch German ancestry that settled in both Pennsylvania and New York in addition to about 5% French Huguenot. The story of persecution and attempted genocide of this people is an almost never told story whose descendents deserve compensation and recognition.

What DNA test shows Palatine ancestry?

@davidirwin1549, I published a book on my Palatinate German Cappeler line and how they came to Colonial Berks Co, Pennsylvania only to be slaughtered during the French and Indian War. They left behind 6 minor children.
That book "The Cobler Family Story From Palatinate Germany to 20th Century America" is on all the major platforms. I've interwoven the Family Life within historical contexts and show how they were affected by events around them.
I have two other lines of Palatinates as well, the Kobels and the Dieffenbaughs.

@Pennsylvania Dutch, I have 3 lines of Palatinate Ancestors, two came into New York during the very first wave in 1709 (Kobel, Dieffenbach) and one that came to Lancaster PA in 1732 (Kappeler).
My New Yorkers came down the river into Lancaster County from Schoharie Valley.
I published my book "The Cobler Family Story From Palatinate Germany to 20th Century America" on all the major platforms. I've interwoven the Family Narratives in with American and World Events.

That's interesting. I've located 3 direct ancestors (half the family stayed in Germany it seems) who arrived in NY in 1709, were in Cobleskill (Schoharie County) in 1710, and then permanently settled in Berks County, PA.

Of those who emigrated to New York, my grandfather was one. His name was Jörg Martinus Dällenbach. He was from Lauperswil. The family story is that we are descended from Wilhelm Däll, or William Tell, of Apple and Archery fame. 😊

I'm in the early stages of it but going through some of my father's genealogy records after his death connects some branches of my Hager family to this migration

I am curious about your Hager family. I am from Lancaster, PA and through 23 and Me, I discovered a Hager third cousin also from Lancaster, PA, although we are sure that we are related through our Maternal sides, which are also Germans and I know that I have roots in the Palatinate. My Cousin is Thom Hager and his Hager family founded a large department store in downtown Lancaster. Thom and I are about the same age, but didn't know each other in school, probably because his family was wealthy and he most likely attended the private school in Lancaster and I attended public school in Lancaster.
Good luck with your search. My German side is my Maternal side and I was fortunate enough to trace Mom's side to a Georg Uhrig in York Co. PA circa 1700, his oldest Son who changed the family name to Urey, my Maternal Great Grandmother was Mary Margaret Urey Frey.

I started looking at my genealogy in the late 1960's. My folks showed me an old graveyard in the middle of a cornfield that contained some of my early PA Dutch ancestors.
We were told in school about early arrivals to America, resulting as a consequence of religious persecution. But, we were not taught any details. The Thirty Years War 1618 to 1648 was just one religious conflict leading up to mass German migration to America. The Catholic Church led the slaughter of entire Protestant towns and cities. Nearly half the population of Germany was murdered.

    Revelation 12:6 KJV
[6] And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
    Prophecy fulfilled
Protestants fleeing persecution and protected for a time by the “lamb like beast”
What other country is “lamb like”? Started under Christianity?
Then gives their power to the beast
America will give their power back to the pope.
Last day events will be rapid ones

The things they don’t teach us in school🙄. When I had my dna and my family tree done I was like, what? I have never heard of the Palantate of the Holy Roman Empire before nor the palantines. Even now it’s hard to find good books and articles on this.

@@PennsylvaniaDutch thanks! Do you know the flag the palatine region had at 1703? I've seen a few different things, saying it is the black background and lion or the one that's gold white red and blue with the lion in the center. And I can't really find a good source to tell which is accurate

Little bit of an untruth told by the English narrator; palatines were drawn to England because the Queen said she'd look after them. When they landed in england they soon realised her lies. Some were brought to Ireland as a cheap planter of sorts and a large sum went on to America

Dutch is spoken in the Netherlands, not in Germany. They came from a German region. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palatinate_(region)
