    竹签 = bamboo sticks
    I thought that 签 means "to sign (your name)".
    But it turns out that it also means "stick". For example :
    棉签 = cotton swab , Q-tip
    牙签 = toothpick

    At 14:15 I think that 后劲很足 means "strong after-effect" (or "delayed effect").
    I think that 后劲 can sometimes mean "stamina", but that doesn't make sense here.
    I think that "stamina" (long-lasting strength) is usually 耐力.

    Hello. I have just joined your channel and I want to ask you a question, I would be happy if you answer. I have reached the HSK 2 level by studying the Chinese language individually. What method can I use to understand sentence pronunciations better? Thank you...

    • @chinesewithchristine1876
      @chinesewithchristine1876  3 місяці тому

      Hello, I’m honored that you value my answer so that you put the question here. You’ve reached HSK2 so it’s not hard for you to pronounce pinyin, which means it’s not difficult for you to understand the pronunciation of phrases or single characters. To understand sentences better, I’ll recommend you to first make sentences with the new characters or phrases you’ve learned and then speak them out loud in the sentences you made. Then listen to some slow videos or radios or audio books with the topics of the characters you’ve just learned. Then when you get used to the speed, you can fast forward it. Also, sentence pronunciations can be quite different from the pronunciation of single characters because we change the tones even the pronunciations of some characters when they are put together in a sentence.
