I think she mentioned in some interview, that this was a critical performance for her, as she came directly from the hospital reviving from pnemonia and had to return there after her performance. She was singing with the belief that this was the last performance of her carrier as a singer. Took her 2 years hiatus but she returned to give us even more masterpieces.
Don't worry about us Sohyang fans and the filters, we understand. Some people have got strikes and we don't want that to happen. Just don't alter the sound and we will be happy. We pretty much just want Sohyang to spread across UA-cam, and we love new people finding out about her because she is not nearly well known enough.

Many here talking about her taking almost 2 years off is not true. Also, the brake she didn’t take was not just for her pneumonia. She has other health issues she has been dealing with and will for the rest of her life. It is true that the Dr. she saw that day told her not to speak, but with weak lungs and a bad throat she pushed ahead and still was able to do that. If you listen closely at her highest note, there was a sight strain trying to get it out. That was due to her singing while sick. No other singer in the world would do that. She has faith though. Faith that God will get her through anything.
Another plug for "Arirang Alone" from Immortal Songs 2 since you have only heard her sing in English. Then I would suggest moving onto "I Will Always Love You' from Begin Again Korea. This is a show were well known artists went around South Korea busking to bring hope to the people. "Day-Day" with Sohyang and the group will blow your mind because it is a completely different genre. I hope no one spoils it by saying what genre but if you have only heard Sohyang's big ballads prepare to be amazed.

It was funny to see Shane Filan so full of nervous energy that he couldn't contain himself and had to lean pretty far forward at one point in the performance! When you've got the audience squirming with nervous delight you know you can sing! This is basically So Hyang's biography in a song, with God intervening in her life to actually save her life when she was 20 and struck with uterine cancer. If anyone can't see that So Hyang put her whole heart into singing this then, well, I don't know what would wake someone like that up! Ha, ha! 🤷♂️😉💖👌👍🎶😎

I won’t be the only one to tell you this because it’s a well known fact but she was actually ill during this performance. She had been told not to perform as she was still recovering from her latest bout of pneumonia,!but typical of Sohyang she didn’t want to disappoint the audience so went ahead & performed anyway. This is an amazing rendition, as are all her performances, but as a long time Sohyang fan I feel this has something missing, a little bit of Sohyang magic & I know that sounds harsh, don’t get me wrong, it is still off the charts by any normal singers standards but I’m judging it on the stratospheric Sohyang chart of vocal excellence. I still love it & for me it is the best version of this song I have ever heard BUT it doesn’t get on my own personal Sohyang top 10, which I think may give you some perspective on what delights you have to look forward to in future reactions 🤭🙀🙊🙉🤷🏼♀️😱 (just a small selection of expressions that your viewers encounter whilst watching you watch Sohyang 😂😂😂😂 the funny thing is that I’ve seen 100’s of Sohyang performances & I probably pull the same faces,I definitely feel the same way after all this time & I don’t think that feeling of awe will ever leave.
