Super excited for more Modern analysis. What’s out there now seems pretty surface level, gains x and loses y. But is there a game plan you can develop around those gains so you’re not just playing a worse version? Probably not for all characters but Haitani showed there’s at least one.

Sometimes I am really amazed with the editing, like I love the transition between matches you see where a move flows between matches. That's tremendous. But at times the videos are also REALLY over-edited. I really, really prefer the times where editing is used with restraint and we don't get a million sound effects and zooms on Justin and shit all packed together. I understand that stuff is a major attractor for younger viewers, but it really takes away from the actual content IMO.
I think both Classic and Modern have pros and cons. There's absolutely no reason to not allow Modern in tournaments. As a reactionary player, i find Modern amplifies my skills as a player and covers my weaknesses. It could be the opposite for someone else. I also hate the input reader in this game and Modern helps me with that!
I play Modern Chun-Li and I still completely absolutely suck loll, love to watch ppl w/ actual skill do it. Btw, love all the animal sounds whoever edits the vids should get a raise. 👍👍

Modern has a 20% damage reduction for any special moves entered with easy inputs. Also most of his longer combos in this video were starting off of a low medium kick into drive rush, which if I’m not mistaken is 60% scaling immediately
what's worse about modern though is that 20% damage reduction, and in fighting games every little bit of damage you do matters especially at high level play.

For now we have two of the best Chun Li players that use Modern controls in Japan: Lv5 CPU and Haitani.
I am looking forward to a character by character look at which control scheme is more advantageous.
I definitely hate playing against modern chun-li more than any other character or control scheme.
